After my experience I would not advise any british man to get married in the philippines. Bring your filipina over to the UK and get married here. If the marriage does not work out you can get divorced here. You can still get divorced here but if your marriage takes place in the philippines you are still legally married there. Your name will be on the database there and you will not be able to get married over there again if you wish to. You will have to go through the judicial process over there which will cost you. Having said that I wish you both best wishes.

There isn't an expiry date for the affirmation, but it is recommended that you don't take the affirmation too long before applying for the marriage licence as you may encounter difficulties substantiating that your status hasn't changed during that period.

According to all documentation on gov uk websites CNI is only needed not any affidavit.. its so confusing

You’ll get it on the same day you went to the PH British embassy. But you have to book for an appointment.
