i recently learned that bob ross had an identical painting in front of him - off camera - to the one he was making, so he didn’t have to concentrate too hard on the results and could focus on explaining the process. I found that liberating.
I heard he would do around three for each episode of the same painting, one to figure out what he was doing, one for the 'thumbnail' and one he actually painted on camera. It's crazy to think how many he actually did!
This had me giggling the whole time XD ALSOOO when I saw the ref photo and then you said you were using colored pencils, I was like 😲are you kidding me?? Challenge level: EXPERT! This turned out so good. I really admire your patience and perseverance with this medium
Your videos are really comforting, i always put them on when i draw or do something else and u are really funny to listen to, also love the drawing process. Thankyou for posting videos 🐥🐥🐥🐥
I am soooo in love with everything you draw I love the way you use the materials You inspired me to buy color pencils and start drawing Thank you for your content 💕
Really loved how you pushed through all the doubts while keeping your humor sense and the result is magical! You inspired me to keep trying 😊 Btw regarding the overly-attached tape 😂, I found that it helps me if I rub my finger over the tape before pulling it. That way, it warms up gently without needing to take your massive rocket-launcher size hairdryer (I got the same problem 😅) and comes off easier.
I watched “Sketching Winter” before I saw this video, and although you cast aspersions on this drawing, I loved it. As I watched this video, I also felt like the snow didn’t match the rest of the picture (although I knew you would pull it together before it was done.) Then when you used the color “raisin“ , and burnished it over the snow, it unified all the colors. That was when it all came together. If not for your monologue, I would’ve thought you always planned it! You have great artistic instincts. I always learn from you. ❤
Firstly I love your work and videos! 💖 I think the more green blue for the ground threw you off for a bit, if it was more purple like the reference I think you might have felt it looked more like what you were after, regardless it still turned out awesome and I love the rollercoaster of your process, such a relatable thing with art and life 😄
I have seen uncountable RUclips art process videos, and never have I so thoroughly identified with one - starting with finding something under the paper you had just taped down, through to the tape tearing the paper as you removed it, and honestly everything in between. Been there and done that a billion times, and it never stops being just exactly as frustrating. Perhaps we’re such angry people because we have art in our lives 😂
I love that you create with coloured pencils. It doesn't need to be watercolour. Love the real time. Oh, those infamous ugly stages. Nemesis tree be gone!.. Beautiful work ❤
It turned out great! I really appreciate hearing you struggle, it legit makes me feel better about how I feel while doing art. What type of eraser is your pink eraser??? I have the same mini tomboy eraser and I’m annoyed at the same thing!
It's funny how you stress about the drawing and how difficult it is, but the result is really beautiful after all that Hahahah I identify a little with this process. loved the video!
These are so pretty!! ❤ what kind of fixative do you use? I always struggle to keep my pencils and especially lead from smudging all over… Though it is satisfying to erase around the drawing and see all the white paper underneath! 😂 P.S. im excited to have another canadian artist to follow!
“And then I guess I’ll… Do this or something…” artist proverb for sure
😂😂
Sounds like the story of my life! Lol

Thank you do much! And I'll have to try that tape trick!!

Oh, those infamous ugly stages. Nemesis tree be gone!..
Beautiful work ❤
Hahaha thank you!! I still hate that tree lol
This was worth the time you put into it! Bob Ross may be a legend but he’s never made me laugh like you do. 😊
I’m glad I’m not the only one who realizes that this isn’t just a tutorial, but also comedy.. and also also a journey
Omg thank you making this masterpiece amd sharing them with us
I love how ethereal it looks! (also I use that exact tape and I feel your pain)
You’re wonderful Em, I tried something very similar recently and felt every second of your frustration!
Thank you!! I'm not alone😊 I think landscapes are actually quite hard and deceiving
It turned out great! I really appreciate hearing you struggle, it legit makes me feel better about how I feel while doing art.
What type of eraser is your pink eraser??? I have the same mini tomboy eraser and I’m annoyed at the same thing!
Thank you I'm happy you liked it😊 it's called tombow knock eraser!
Oh this is So Pretty!
It's funny how you stress about the drawing and how difficult it is, but the result is really beautiful after all that Hahahah I identify a little with this process. loved the video!
