About a month ago I was watching bullet journal tutorials and for some reason it recommended me to one of your videos. I'm a dancer but I've been feeling pretty down lately and haven't been able to connect as much to my dancing, but when I started learning more about hooping I really wanted to try it so i bought a hoop. I've only been practicing for three weeks, but I'm having so much fun learning and dancing. My favorite move is the vortex, because it just feels so nice to do. Anyway, I wanted to thank you for introducing me to hooping and tell you that your flow is beautiful. I haven't learned this move yet, but I'll definitely be using this tutorial to learn. ^_^ Thank you for being inspiring!
Liz Webb Aww thank you Liz! That means so much to me. It’s truly brings me so much joy to inspire others by doing what i love most ❤️❤️❤️. The vortex was one of my very favorite first moves too! And btw congrats on deciding to begin your hoop journey!! It is SO rewarding and I’m so excited for you to experience this growth and fulfillment through hooping! My complete online Guide to Hoop Dance Course would be very useful to you and fun if you’re interested :). You can watch my promo video for it and find more information on it at my website autumnflow.com. Happy Hooping girl!! Thank you so much for reaching out to me!
Girl you look so rad, what a rock star!! And wow I got this trick within the first 30 mins after watching your video and I couldn’t be more grateful! I got such a natural high after landing it! I just kept doing it because it felt so awesome! Thank you, I love you sister! I’ll come back to your channel for more tricks! 😻
About two months ago I was watching this going "ohh my good she is so good I want to get there!!" Well, I have found a freaking LOVE for this art and find it as my escape a lot of the time, I found this video again and I have mastered it fully! I'm about 6 or 7 months into my hoop journey and I pick it up everyday and have integrated it into my morning yoga as well. There is something about dance that just transforms you
Hi Michele! Just wanted to say that I learned the juggle toss from this video probably about a month about, and it is seriously my favorite move now. I do it all the time and it never gets old, it's always so mesmerizing ❤️ I'm always thinking of new ways to transition in and out of it, and I've been inspired enough to make my own video showing what I've come up with 😊 I hope you're well right now Michele, you are one of my favorite hoopers and you've inspired me so much ❤️
Haha ah thank you! I'm so glad you've found it helpful! :D If you're interested in getting a whole lot more hoop guidance I have a complete Online Guide to Hoop Dance Course at autumnflow.com :). Happy Hooping girl!
I found this tutorial a few days ago and drilled the steps multiple times a day until it clicked! feeling so accomplished and badass--thank you for sharing
wow how cool! I've been to Heber Springs several times :). Beautiful waterfalls there! You should come to Ozark Hoop & Wellness retreat that I'm hosting!!! autumnflow.com/pages/ozark-hoop-wellness-retreat-april-2020 It's going to be an amazing experience and with you being so close that'd be perfect for you to attend!! :D
I have watched several amazing tutorials on this move and really just have a hard time. I was drilling this yesterday. Unbelievable to have your video pop up as I'm a leftie hooper and sometimes mirroring a righty isn't enough for me. I'm so excited to drill this properly now. 💗😘✨
YAY!! I'm so happy to hear that! And I know the feeling! Learning from a righty hooper can be very tricky. I have online hoop dance courses at autumnflow.com if you need any more help coming from a leftie perspective :)
Hi Michelle! I love your tutorials and watching your progression over the past few years. You are so inspirational!! I have been practicing this move for a few months now and I continue to have problems getting the hoop to release and move up to catch it.... usually it just goes mostly horizontal. I feel like I cannot get enough momentum to get it to "pop" up no matter what I do with my fingers or how I position my body. Do you have any suggestions for troubleshooting this part of the move? Thanks :D
Thank You! I'm happy to help. Hmm make sure you are using a lighter hoop and your grip on the hoop as you release it makes a huge difference with the control you have. Try flicking the hoop upwards as it releases off of your fingertips and put a lot of motion into your wrist to give the hoop extra momentum. It might take a bit of practice and giving your body time to figure out this new motion :). I hope this helps and if you need any extra guidance in your hoop journey I have a complete Online Guide to Hoop Dance Course available at autumnflow.com. You can check out my promo video and I also have a facebook group for all of my students where they can connect and seek extra encouragement and inspiration from each other. Let me know if you have any questions and Happy Hooping girl!
Congratulations on your fluidity and movements, very pleasant to watch. Can I ask you what is the circle diameter of this video and the weight? If you can point them out to me. If not, could you show me an optimal weight and size to do what you do? I have a small and light one to make it rotate around my pelvis or shoulders (even worse) I'm really struggling! Thankyou 🥰
This hoop is the Opalite Color Morph Polypro 30", 3/4 autumnflow.com/products/opalite-color-morph-taped-hoop. This small size works for this trick because it's an off body trick. If you're trying to waist hoop with this size it's going to be difficult! You want a larger hoop for those tricks, measure from the floor to your bellybutton, that size will be a good starting point for you! - check out my beginner options here: autumnflow.com/collections/beginner-hoops
Thank you! Currently I'm not teaching any local classes but would like to start that up again sometime :). I do have online hoop courses tho at autumnflow.com :)
Thank you so much for the tutorial, have been wondering how you do that move for ages haha! Just wondering the size of the hoops you downsized to when you were just starting out and how quickly you did so? I decided to downsize from a 38" polypro to 32" within a few weeks... I'm not sure if I'm getting a bit ahead of myself? My 38" is just way too difficult to practice wedgies/etc with :O Thanks again Michelle, you're beautiful
Aww Thank you so much Sarah! That means a lot to me :). And I'm so happy to hear that you are finding this helpful. It brings me so much joy to inspire others by doing what I love most. The first five months of my hoop journey I used big heavy beginner hoops then switched to polypros. My first polypro was a 36" then a few months later I downsized to a 34", then about 6 months later downsized to a 32" and from there my preferred hoop size went up and down depending on what type of hoop dance moves I was focusing on. Such as onbody vs offbody. So personal preference plays a huge part in finding your perfect hoop size and just experimenting with different sizes as your flow progresses. I actually talk about this quite a bit in my Online Guide to Hoop Dance Course if you're interested in checking it out! It includes over 50 video tutorials covering everything to nee to know as a brand new beginner hooper to more intermediate moves and combos, plus a ton more awesome material. You can find more information on it and watch my promo video at autumnflow.teachable.com/p/learntohoopdance. Also feel free to reach out to me at anytime and thank you again for the kind words!! Happy Hooping girl!
Thank you soo much for these tutorials. I've only been hooping for about a month and the way you demonstrate, explain the tricks and slow it down make it so much easier to practice and get a good idea on how to nail it.
I'm trying to get the juggle to chest roll down but am really struggling with the timing. When I try to release it to go straight up the hoop doesn't land on my chest and doesn't roll. When I try to release it to go slightly backwards, it knocks into me and bounces off. Any tips?
Hi! I have online courses available where you can learn at your own pace. They range from $25-$55 dollars. Here's the link to learn more: autumnflow.teachable.com/
Thank you so much for this cool move and the detailed tutorial! What is this "zigzag"move called you do sometimes after you catched it? Some kind of "ghosting" isolation? Lots of love from germany
Hi Michele Can you please give me a tip on how to keep that hoop spinning behind the back. I've been practicing for a few days now & I'm feeling frustrated
Hi Lori. Yes this trick can take a little bit to get the hang of and it can be frustrating. But just keep at it! What type and size of hoop are you using? Remember to guide the hoop with your fingertips to control it's momentum and keep your hand very close to your body.
Work on your shoulder flexibility so you can reach your arm further behind your back and keep your tailbone tucked in, lean back a little if you need to!
Definitely! This one is 30" 3/4 polypro tubing with Opalite Color Morph Tape. autumnflow.com/products/opalite-color-morph-taped-hoop?_pos=2&_sid=203fef1f1&_ss=r

Can I know the name of the background music at the beginning of the vid?
It sounds really nice!
