Indigo is a blue pigment used to color jeans blue made with 2-nitrobenzaldehyde, distilled water, sodium hydroxide, caustic lye blue pigment in water suspension which we are going to vacuum filter to obtain a dry product it was rinsed with fast evaporating solvents like ether MTBE and ethanol. Recrystallisation was performed blue powder to be used as a pigment. Sublimation and evaporation of Indigo makes beutiful red, purple vapor in a test tube sublimated, resublimated.
Adding a part in the video describing the mechanism of the reaction would also be nice
Lmao how your German accent slowly is fading away 😂😂🤣
Is it? All I know is that I cringe at my old videos
@@THYZOID it’s the regular way u need to practice speaking I spoke now for over 2 years no English longer than a few hours .. so mine got rusty again lol 😂 but yeah I think yours got pretty good 👍
@@experimental_chemistry I appreciate the honest feedback!
Beautiful reaction. I'd love to see more organic chem and mechanisms, I found those to be fun puzzles.
Wow I didn't know aldehydes were so easily alkylated. Useful lesson.
@02:05 smelting slag that is basic will do that while it cools and solidifies
My RUclips search mistake you channel name for thyroid laboratories but glad you changed it:).
I saw the new background, are you make video in your new laboratory? I saw your previous experiments are outside before.
I’ll talk about the lab eventually. It’s not my lab though
Please make a video on preparation of indigo from anthranilic acid and explain the reaction mechanism.....
cool
That is beautiful!
Most small orders from India or China are sent to bypass customs ( mislabeling, etc.)
You can get indigo kits I may buy the kit and processed indigo.
Why does it look like indigo is just 2 indoles glued together 😂
Easy indi-come, easy indi-go.
Is it your home lab or work lab?
Neither
@@THYZOID an unfunded, organic chemist, must have friends!
Can you make a video about alizarin.?
nah. it won´t be interesting for most people
Do you have any high pressure reactions coming down the line? How about hydrogen saturation of a hydrocarbon?
Hydrogenations will come one day. Might try some high pressure anhydrous ammonia reactions in a few months
@@THYZOID awesome too hear my friend! Yes, I know already the cost restrictions of such vessels and I understand the need for time.
@@minusstage3 The apparatus I’ll use for this will be very simple but still somewhat dangerous. Before I can try I will make it safer
@@THYZOID indeed, it's very expensive and/or very dangerous. I only asked you, for a reason! You seem to have the skills and resources, along with the intellect and bravery required! 😉😇
Off topic could u make indigo carmine? How the fluorine silver pigment coming Thy?
The silver trifluoroacetate was dirty after drying it. Might redissolve, filter and recrystallize
Can you make a video about thioacetone ?
If you lend me a ship
Hola. ? Y como se hace para convertir "Triptamina" . ?
I won’t make tryptamine
I plan to repeat this preparation, but I can't find a good source of 2-nitrobenzaldehyde. Please tell me where did you buy yours (btw I'm from Poland).
I didn’t buy it. I’m currently filming in a students lab at the TU Darmstadt.
Kindly helo me, I want make Indigo colour please help me
well follow the instructions in the video
@@THYZOID I need talk with you
Bro I need anti iron chemical please
Give further information I really don’t know what you want
How to make a diamagnetic liquid
@@JS-HOME.INTERIORS if you are talking about that thing that repels an iron nail on a string that video uses tricks. There is no such chemical
@@THYZOID indeed, tricks in video and tricks on research papers, along with tricks in patents!! It is a frigging nightmare for one's finances and safety! It should be considered illegal, if an organization or accredited agency has released papers, without that level of honesty.
Incorrect documentation of a perceived usable process, is the devil!
@@minusstage3 are you on drugs?
RUclips comments are an absolute shitshow...
Alright I'm curious what you'll do with it
Nothing. Indigo is the final step. It might be used to dye some cellulose though
