Great to see this . Thanks for all the info and for being positive in your review. Been a Prince fan for over 40 years and hoping to come from the uk to paisley park next year . Peace to you 💜
Having been a Prince fan my whole life, I really want to make it up to this tour. I've toured Graceland many times because I'm as big of a fan of Elvis as I am Prince. All of these things are pricey but I think it's amazing to get a glimpse into the artists world.
Thanks for chiming in. For me, Paisley Park is a mixed bag. I came way with a much greater perspective on him. However, there are definitely ways that the tour could be improved. (PS: I've never been to Graceland, but it is definitely on our list). ~Lana
I would say that Paisley Park isn't for the casual fan that likes a few songs..Paisley Park is more suited to the diehards who knows the backstory to the music, who can also appreciate that they're in his home/studio where he made iconic albums! And lastly, who wants to remember the elevator? Or the controversy? Or to see his personal quarters? It's a museum tour..it's not like going to your family's home that passed away and going through their things..
I understand and appreciate your perspective. Admittedly, I'm not a diehard fan. Still, I went to Paisley Park wanting to celebrate his music, his life, and learn more about him. Paisely Park does indeed do that, and I have listened to his music and thought about him much more since our visit. But in a three-hour tour, the museum also could have taken a few minutes to give a more well-rounded picture. ~Lana
@@ClassCBroads that sounds like a tour guide issue..the tour guide usually explains in great detail every area on the tour and it's origin..and they should've been able to answer any questions you had..if that's the problem ,I suggest mentioning that on one of Paisley Park's platforms so other visitors won't have that experience..they're usually good at fixing problems the visitors have..I'd gladly answer any questions you may have..the largest room where you can record/ take pictures is where many of his concert footage was filmed such as parts of the Sign o the times concert movie and Graffiti Bridge just to name a few...also the room was used for late night last minute parties he'd have for the locals..I hope they at least told you that part..
@@babygyrl8612 Our tour guide did cover those aspects, and she was quite knowledgeable. She was a diehard and knew her stuff. My issue is with the scope of the tour itself and advertising it as Prince's "home" and studio when you don't really see where he lived. I wasn't expecting to see where he took a dump, but the second floor seems to have some very cool rooms where Prince lived that would have been nice to see. We only had about 20 minutes in the Sound Stage area at the end (and that room really is amazing!). We could not take photos/videos throughout the rest of the tour so I was looking for photos online to try to remember what I did see so that (1) I wouldn't forget and (2) I could write a review. That's actually how I stumbled upon the crime scene photos. I do hope that they loosen up the photo policy because people like me do want to remember ALL aspects of the tour (not just the end), and at least for me, I rely on photos to help me remember. Thanks again for your input. I don't want you or anyone to think that the Paisley Park isn't worth visiting. I just want people to better understand the scope of the tour and its limitations. ~Lana
@@ClassCBroads I agree about the pictures..they should include at least a tour book..when I went, you couldn't take pictures at all..so that's great for new visitors..i'm sorry it wasn't what you expected but keep in mind that Prince was a very private person and that's widely known..Also his idea of home is different from what we consider home.. home to him was the studio and a place he sometimes slept..it was all about the music..he slept a few hours of the day and the rest was in the studio.. it's said that he recorded so much that he could release an album every year for the next 100 yrs..his constant focus on music lead to the downfall of his relationships..home to us is ordinary but nothing was ordinary about Prince..I suggest watching interviews of him and understanding the man he was then PP will make sense to you..
@@babygyrl8612 I continue to learn more about him. I watched a most of Oprah's interview with him shortly after we went to Paisley Park. Thank you so much for your take on Prince and Paisley Park; it's helpful to hear what others think. I agree -- his vault of music is truly amazing. ~Lana
Just got back from Minneapolis a few days ago; whole reason for going was to fulfill my bucket list trip to see his home and take in what is Prince. It was more than what I thought it was going to be I am happy to say. I did the ultimate tour which since the class c broads did this video has gone up quite a bit! For me it was worth every single penny and I would advise anyone who is a Prince fan to put this on your list of things to do in life. The ladies did a pretty good job of telling one about what they should expect to see so I won't spoil it for anyone who maybe going. I was aware no pics would be allowed on the first leg of the tour and yes they do make you lock your phones up till closer to the end but one gets to see things during the ultimate that you don't see on the other tours and to see things that you won't for now get to see outside of Paisley Park so it was so worth it! I would like to have seen the tunnel that must be near the home, and I understand Prince used to ride his bike through it. Fans have left writings/poem/other trinkets in honor of this man. I did get a chance to go to other areas Prince frequented like First Avenue and The Electric Fetus. I highly recommend you take those in if you are a fan.. it added something to my trip to know I stood or visited and took pics where he once stood. I am was very happy I did this!! I don't thing anyone will regret doing this tour and other places he once was.
I went on this tour maybe 4 5 or 6 six years ago ! It was a year after he death ,maybe a few months after he died, but it was the best tour “Ever” !!! We took all kinds of pictures !!! I have videos and all !!!!! Surprised that they stop guest from taking pictures ! It was the tour of a life time !!!! We had a ball ! It was on the anniversary of his death . They had a big celebration in Minnesota. I’ve been wanting to go back every year to see it !!♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Wow what an awesome video! Thanks for making this video🙌🏼💜💜 did you get to try the food from the deli where they have some of his favorite meals?? I’m curious about the food lol
Thanks for the feedback. As for the food, we received some sodas at the end as part of our tour in the Sound Stage area. I vaguely recall that we could purchase some drinks (maybe some snacks too?) at the NPG Music Club. I don't recall anything about a deli (just that there was a kitchen off the atrium, but there wasn't any food being served there and it was pretty much off limits).
Great video. We did the tour last week and enjoyed it greatly. Your comment about them not covering his death and some of the more controversial aspects of his life is very apt. The tour guide actually told my teenagers (twice) that Prince never did drugs. When she walked away my 16 year old turned around and said to me “didn't he OD” Still a great tour.
Interestingly, Graceland Holdings LLC had a contract to manage Paisley Park until October 2019. My understanding is that Prince's estate now controls things, but I'm sure that the Graceland's influence continues. We haven't been to Graceland...yet.
Thank you ladies for this video. I've been planning to go to Paisley Park for a while now and I should be going next year, preferably around his Birthday in which mine is 2 days later. But you gave me a nice inside look on what to expect. Thank you very much.
I would like Paisley Park to be called just that, NOT Paisley Park MUSEUM. It should have an immersive 360 degree educational facility where one can buy guided presentations on Prince as businessman/promoter/performance rights activist, Prince as Visual Artist/performance designer, Prince as Producer/,recording engineer, Prince as dancer/choreographer, Prince as a person (humour/vegetarianism/environmentalist/philantropist), Prince as Musician/composer. Not just a tacky archive - really a working studio and entertainment college. That's what he wanted - he was an innovator and teacher.
That is THE BEST recommendation I've heard about Paisley Park! So many people would benefit from that, and it would so so much better than the current tour.
@@ClassCBroads Thank you for your positive response, If I knew who ran the estate I would send them a more detailed proposal that they could use if they were really interested.
I really 💜 this idea!! Just attended the 40th Anniversary viewing of “Purple Rain” at Paisley Park. It was an amazing experience. I’ve been a Prince fan since “For You”. Using some of that property to advance Prince’s causes and interests would so tremendously impactful to the creatives and activists to come behind him.
Thanks for review. During the Prince Celebrations during 90s they took us upstairs to see the game room, book room and his office and War room. They also took us down to see the Vault which is near the parking garage (Where the beginning of the Sexy MF video was shot).. The book room had a huge ant farm in it! Game room had a pinball machine and pool table and right around the corner was a Myles Davis painting. I was out there last time for Hit N Run listening party. They let us go in there with phones but told us no pictures, that was while Prince was still alive and he was around there some. Near the Vault was a bunch of guitars and gear.
thanks for this honest review. I am a similar age, similar level fan and this tour is also on my bucket list. At least this manages my expectations. I too would much prefer more of a glimpse into his personal life than just a tour guide through the music - which is widely available and widely known. Those little tidbits about someone's real life are the gold.. and sounds like there is not enough of it on this tour despite the very steep cost.
Glad you thought our take was helpful. It really is a mixed bag. We just want to help manage people's expectations based on our experience. Good luck, whatever you decide on the tour.

So glad you liked the video and glad we got to chat for a bit! I feel like Prince was really a part of our growing up even though I don't remember that much of it. He was definitely a Classy Guy! :)
Thanks for this video. I'm going to be in Minneapolis next month for a convention. I have a few spare days and was wondering if I should book a tour here with my wife. This gives us some more info to judge whether or not to take a tour of Paisley Park.
I went on the tour today (3/25/23), it was really nice. I had the lowest selection for time, I believe 90 minutes. We also stayed only on the first level of the facility. I was curious to know if the higher tier packages allowed you to go to the upper levels. I am a big fan of Prince and seeing the studios was really worth the trip. I, too, think there could be more intimate information offered. The tour guide was great and kudos to her for sure for remembering the info and everything but I would have liked to actually see the vault maybe. And a huge thing for me was I wanted to know possibly what happened with the Paisley Park urn that’s been reported to hold his ashes. I saw on the internet that it was removed from the front lobby, supposedly it used to be on display when these tours were initially available. But it’s said that it was moved to a closed room, just would have been nice to be told about it in person. Great experience overall, I think the 90 minute tour is fine though. Sounds like it covered the same things that the 3-hour tour covered. Great video ladies.
We stayed on the lower level the entire time. I read somewhere that PP brought out the urn on 4/21/21 (five year anniversary of Prince's death), but the urn's location is otherwise a mystery (at least to us). Glad you thought he 90 minute tour fit your needs. He was such an amazing man....
We visited in spring of 2017. The urn shaped like Paisley Park set up high in the atrium. They told people on the tour what it was and one person started crying. Sort of sprung on you without any notice. I guess they removed his supposed ashes sometime later, not sure when. May have decided it was too sad for the really devoted Prince fams.

You are very welcome. There are other (cheaper) things to do in the area involving Prince that you may want to check out. Some of them may be a good alternative to Paisley Park. www.exploreminnesota.com/itinerary/celebrate-life-prince-this-self-guided-tour
I am a lifelong fan. Starting listening to Prince at the age of 10. I really enjoyed your review. I, too, am turned off by Paisley Park's photography policy.
He was such an amazing man! I think his fans will come to me regardless of the photo policy, but it would be nice if it wasn't so restrictive. Thanks for watching and sharing your perspective.
I love Prince. Been a big fan since about 1994. I feel like a tour of princes house and studio should give insight into his life from his day to day, to his life a singer. I think this tour is so much more focused on the recording portion of his life because it's a money-making effort and not a true "come see how Prince lived. I want all of that but i also want a glimps into his life. If this was just a recording studio then this tour would be more acceptable. I think for $430 for a couple it should be a more inclusive tour.
May 11 2024 I did the VIP tour and I got to see way more than what's on this tour you posted I guess they increased the areas because I saw vault and upstairs and basketball court area and his office and editing private room and all the stuff you posted and has clothing up close Prince A Musical Genius. Rip my Dude
That is good to know. Maybe they revised it. We didn't see the vault or anything upstairs, for sure. Were you able to take photos of any of those places?
I haven’t been able to visit Paisley Park yet, & I live in MN. I’ll get there. 💜 I really appreciate reviews like those from these two ladies, as well as commenters here. Thank you!! 🌷
No one knows Prince's full catalogue of music. Paisley Park was Princes home as well as his work space so it needs respect very much like Graceland. His House, his rules.
Prince was BETTER than michael jackson in my opinion. He was EVERYTHING to me and I plan on taking my Uncle to visit there possibly next year. My Uncle told me that every year that goes by, he misses him MORE & MORE. We both still can't believe that he's no longer here in the flesh but his spirit is with us FOREVER.....
Interesting. That does seem steep pricing, but everything’s expensive anymore. After watching Bohemian Rhapsody, I have a such a n appreciation for the depth of Freddie Mercury’s music . I’m sure this experience was like that especially being there in person. Not sure I’ll ever get out that way, so thanks for taking me along on your honest review.
I had the Queen Greatest Hits cassette tape as a kid, and still know the words to pretty much all of those songs. They were both such amazing artists. Thanks for watching. ~Lana
"Really. It is there area. I’m glad you can’t take photos!" Um, it is not really 'their' area. It was Prince's and now he is dead. How can you charge almost $400 to 'come see it' and then not take pics or see the advertised 'Home and Studio'. This is not Prince's doing and I am pretty sure he would not falsely advertise. Misleading and exploitative to say the least. Your comment comes across mean. As though they were there illegally or stalking. Makes no sense
Really sad what they are doing to Paisley Park, the members of the Revolution, Cat and others really despise how they are making money out of this, something he fought against thru all his life. So sad.
Other videos I have watched on youtube have alluded to the idea that he always planned that Paisley Park would be turned into a museum, I don't know about this take. Now that he is gone, what other way is there to do this other than a method that generates money to maintain things?
Because Prince did not have a will, it’s hard to say what he really wanted. Regardless, I’m just not convinced that the amount of money we paid was really worth it in terms of what we received in return. Also, I'm guessing that the amount charged way exceeds the amount to simply maintain the property. Ideally, it would be cool to turn the property into a nonprofit that might in turn help new artists....just a thought.
I wish they didn't candy coat his decades long drug problem. The drugs slowly destroyed him over the years until they eventually killed him. His family was unsuccessful in getting him help
@@finregan9322 They dont want folks taking pics so that they can maintain an aura of mystery/sell tickets. Oooo what is behind the screen? Only to find out, not that much really that we cannot already see online. Sure, being there is another thing but the whole misleading aspect of it is douchebaggery. Better, yet sad pics are available online from when he died. They are just out to make money. You can tell by the false advertising.
Haha you again, with your mean input. How fun are you with your moral superiority eh? I personally did not find these women complaining at all. They were quite diplomatic really. And totally valid. Do you see though, the irony of your comment? I doubt it but if you did, that would be so great. Irony makes yours a really funny comment!
THere are things inside Paisley Park that families, artists, and families of artists may still be collecting royalties on. TO allow rampant reproduction of any and every thing inside the park would damage the revenue stream. And from what I have seen, certain member of Prince's surviving family would 100% not want to lose revenue due to pictures and videos being posted on youtube or other places on the internet. I went to Prince's house in 1997 and it was exactly the same. No vids no cameras. No big deal.......ur in someone's HOME. Have some common decency and respect.
I was not suggesting "rampant reproduction of anything and everything." Instead, I think letting people take pictures for personal non-commercial use (or for criticism and true commentary) is fair. And besides, fans are going to come regardless. It's Prince, after all!
Wow, no need to yell or shame the visitors dude. You are not inside someone's home. You are in a dead mans home where other people have opened it to the public. The paid $400-ish for this and with false advertising their comments are valid and true. How much did you pay when you went in '97. And did they tell you, you would see his studio and his home? I doubt it. Oh yeah, he was alive so you were actually in his space but he is dead now. Do you see the difference? I hope so.
@ClassicCBroads Oh my good lord. The chit you deal with is nuts. These kinds of 'commenters' are super boring and head ache inducing. I can tell by your vibe you see this clear enough, but still, I am sorry you have to deal with this sort of morally superior hogwash. Not even bothering with basic grammar to spew, what fun!

It's open for tours now October 2023?
We visited in spring of 2017. The urn shaped like Paisley Park set up high in the atrium. They told people on the tour what it was and one person started crying. Sort of sprung on you without any notice. I guess they removed his supposed ashes sometime later, not sure when. May have decided it was too sad for the really devoted Prince fams.
Great review ladies! For people that really didn’t know much about Prince, you had some great observations. Thanks so much 💜
Thank you for the feedback. We certainly appreciate Prince more after our visit. We also loved seeing all of the superfans!

Thank you for the honest review. I am a true fan of Prince. The price is too expensive...but is on my bucket list 😊
You are very welcome. There are other (cheaper) things to do in the area involving Prince that you may want to check out. Some of them may be a good alternative to Paisley Park.

Great vlog, I'm a 50'ish fair weather fan....Purple Rain to Diamonds and Pearl's is about my period with a bit of little red corvette thrown in.
Thank you. Sounds like we have a lot in common. Rock on....
I'm a huge Prince fan & was very disappointed in vip tour..It was like touring a business office..Huge money grab..
Well said. I couldn't agree more!
Thank you!! 🌷
@@Esther-kq7nv Glad you found it all helpful. 💜💜
Glad I wasn't able to book this... you have to do it several days in advance. But yeah, VIP tour for two over $350?
Yep, we totally get it...
Great video. Thanks ladies
You are very welcome!
This was great!! Thank you 💕
You are very welcome. Hope it helped if you are planning a visit to Paisley Park.
Same size shoe as mine. I have a jacket his designers made for 1999,
Sweet. That jacket rocks.
No one knows Prince's full catalogue of music. Paisley Park was Princes home as well as his work space so it needs respect very much like Graceland. His House, his rules.
howmany times did U get up there when He was still alive ?
The first time we visited Paisley Park was in this video.
i understand, most people go there now. thank u 4 the video 💜🐾
You are welcome. 💜💜💜
I hope you and your uncle enjoy Paisley Park and it is everything you want it to be..💜💜💜
Great video
I feel like for $360 I think we as fans should be able to take some pictures
We agree, especially if the photos are for non-commercial personal use!
~Lana
Really. It is there area. I’m glad you can’t take photos!
Why open up Paisley Park to the public then?
😮😢
Really sad what they are doing to Paisley Park, the members of the Revolution, Cat and others really despise how they are making money out of this, something he fought against thru all his life.
So sad.
That is interesting to learn. Just another layer to help better understand Paisley Park.
@@ClassCBroads Yes, that sounds like a much better idea. This is creepy the way they jack the prices, trick you, then dont deliver.
I wish they didn't candy coat his decades long drug problem. The drugs slowly destroyed him over the years until they eventually killed him. His family was unsuccessful in getting him help
I completely agree. At least some mention about that would have made the tour more real and complete.
The photo restriction rules are way over the top....That put's me off instantly
Yep, we wish that PP would rethink that.
@@ClassCBroads Agreed, not even slightly necessary....Great upload
@@finregan9322 They dont want folks taking pics so that they can maintain an aura of mystery/sell tickets. Oooo what is behind the screen? Only to find out, not that much really that we cannot already see online. Sure, being there is another thing but the whole misleading aspect of it is douchebaggery. Better, yet sad pics are available online from when he died. They are just out to make money. You can tell by the false advertising.
Very expensive and no photo's = nope
I think a lot of people feel that way....
You complain a lot!!
We are just trying to give our honest opinion about Paisley Park and what to expect.
Haha you again, with your mean input. How fun are you with your moral superiority eh? I personally did not find these women complaining at all. They were quite diplomatic really. And totally valid. Do you see though, the irony of your comment? I doubt it but if you did, that would be so great. Irony makes yours a really funny comment!
oh damn....u mean its NOT like a life-sized, interactive 3-d version of Hard Copy ?
Mother boards.....? mmkay...now i got a picture of what we're dealing with
THere are things inside Paisley Park that families, artists, and families of artists may still be collecting royalties on.
I hope so.
uummmmm u are being morbid, just so u knwo.
I respectfully disagree. I think we were trying to do a thoughtful review of the tour so that people better understand its scope.
