I’m so happy I found you. I have watched a lot of your videos in the last week and have bought a couple bibles that you use and just grabbed this one. I’m a 63 year old mama and grandmother and have tons of stickers lol I can cover it with. Thank you for your videos
@@revchadbrooks I love the NLT but I haven’t found one that I can take notes in like I like to… This year and next year for that matter im going with the NKJV Cambridge WideMargin Calf split, I got it for $142, so I have to make it go longer than a year lol
I even missed one!!! Glad someone caught the gag. If I wasn’t so hard on things, I’d go for a nicer Cambridge, but I destroy anything that makes it into my backpack.
@@revchadbrooks Admittedly, I'm a little slow and it took me a while. At first I wondered what the numbers were and later I thought, "how many times is he going to say that!" Then it clicked. lol! The Cambridge works for me because I don't stick to one bible. I have one that I use for study and marking up, one for devotional reading and another for preaching.
Great video, love the passion. Disappointed you didn't show the inside of the Bible. I had been looking at this Bible but couldn't find anything that showed inside of the Bible.
Yea stickers :) NIV. Thats cool. I’d love to hear about your love for NLT. But that Inisght bible is rad. I pulled the trigger on my 2022 Bible. Grabbed a NABRE - catholic edition. “Catholic note taking bible” It’s leather bound (likely imitation) but we’ll see how it feels. I’ve been on a quest for years to find a nice hand feeling bible. Years ago a JW friend of mine gave me one of their bibles and the feel. I’ve been trying to find the same feel as that in a less biased translations for years. Yet to succeed, and I wont admit to how many bibles I’ve bought in trying. Or yea I’m that weirdo in chapters feeling up bibles hoping for that same glorious feel. I respect the hardcover love you have, has me thinking, cause I do have a sweet NLT thats a moleskin like edition, and I do enjoy that especially 4 years into it how worn the cover is now. Hardcover seems to have merit for note taking, nice and firm. Anyway… Merry Christmas brother, love the video. Looking forward to how you go through this new turkey buzzard. I’d love to hear in a video sometime too your thoughts on how to discard bibles. Seems you have a less sacred feeling about them and that might be refreshing to hear a perspective on that.
Hunting for the perfect Bible is so much fun. And I have done some weird things trying to find the right feel back when I was into leather bibles, so I understand. I'm stoked for the new turkey buzzard. And throwing away Bibles? Who does that?
I thought about that. Drove me crazy as a kid…will probably still drive me crazy as an adult. Plus, I love seeing wear and tear on things. That whole “used” aesthetic is big to me.
HA! It's an inside joke around the channel. The expensive, leather-bound Cambridge Wide Margins are called "The Eagle" in the premium bible community. When you open them up, the sides fall down and look like a large bird in flight. While the same size...the hardback versions aren't nearly as elegant, so a few of us started calling them a "Turkey Buzzard."
Love your passion for NLT and for getting excited over inexpensive Bibles. Very convicting.
Yeah. I've been to the other dance and it isn't as fun (for me).
And I've got an interesting and funny story with the NLT. I love it.
@@revchadbrooks can't wait to have you share your funny story. Did you ever struggle for a decade which translation is the best/most accurate?

Great video!! Looking forward to you’re NLT video.
It's in the pipeline!
@@revchadbrooks oh how soon down the pipeline?
I learned a lot, not the least of which was beard noise. 😊. I didn’t know that was a thing. Thanks!
Love the stickers idea!!! Wish they made it in the NLT but I’ve never read the NIV all the way through so I may just have have to do it!!!
I would do very sketchy things to get a Cambridge wide margin in NLT.

The beard noise intro was super duper cute! Vote yes! lol
It cracked me up every time you said tukey buzzard. It's a really funny name. I'm actually using a Cambridge NIV calfskin wide margin next year.

Yes stickers! I thought you were going to do the old school brown paper bag cover so you could cover it
I would destroy that so quickly.
Sounds great! What does the inside look like ?
Great video, love the passion. Disappointed you didn't show the inside of the Bible. I had been looking at this Bible but couldn't find anything that showed inside of the Bible.
Hey Stephen. I’ve got a whole video where I set this Bible up. Plenty of inside shots there.
The NRSV is my favorite, the RSV too! 💖📖💖📖💖
Bro thank you for the info! I just ordered one!
Hope you like it!
That "BEAR FRUIT" sticker is the best!!! 🤣🤣🤣
It’s amazing. I had a few of them a few years ago. This was my last one.
I am deciding whether or not to read through ESV or CSB next year. I am a NKJV mostly guy, but I can appreciate the other versions.
Go for it. I think the practice matters more than the tools.
@@revchadbrooks I am literally on a work trip and brought a few bibles with me including 2 ESVs. God bless!
@royal priest Yeah - we are going to disagree on that one.
And yes I'd love an NRSV turkey buzzard.
It would be the best day ever
Just purchased the Insight Bible. Have you checked out the Zondervan NIV Study Bible?
New subscriber great video ty.love the Bigfoot mug
You got to always have a couple of good bigfoot mugs laying around.
@@revchadbrooks hahaha 😆 I'm looking for it now lol
I spy a Dead hat. Nice! Also, finding ephemera in old Bibles is what it’s all about!
Yep. And the ephemera load was solid.
If Jesus were walking the Earth today, he’d definitely be a Dead Head.
RED LETTER 😫😫😫😫😫😫😫
Yeah. You were the first person I thought about when I saw it.
Ordering one now!
Awesome!!!

Does it use the NIV Comfort Print? I really really dislike the NIV comfort print. If not, I am going to buy one today! I appreciate your videos!
Nope. Only the Zondervan does the comfort print. This is a pretty normal text block, whatever the NIV Pitt Minion would be.
@@revchadbrooks Thank you so much!
Aww great video but you never showed us the layout in the inside🤦🏾♀️ The stickers was a good cover up idea 👍🏾🙌🏾

I am a year late, however, I just ordered my very own Turkey Buzzard!
It really is a slick Bible.
Do you create your own Indexes or your own cross-references?
Hey Kisha - Yep. I do. If you watch the video before this and the one after it you can see my process.
Earth science textbook 🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂 “8th grade earth science textbook” gold.
I can't think of a better way to explain it. Even thumps like one!!!
Cover it with a brown grocery bag like we did with our 8th grade earth science textbook! lol
