  • Mr. Bill Wolfe is a former police officer and decorated Canadian Military combat veteran. He began his martial arts journey in 1962, at the age of eight, by enrolling in Judo and Jujitsu lessons offered at the local Army Reserve Armoury in his home town of Revelstoke, British Columbia.
Over the years he would add boxing, boxing, fencing, Hapkido (in which he currently holds an 8th degree black belt) and Defendu - which is a close-quarters combat system developed for British commandos in World War Two.
Mr. Wolfe started his military career in 1968 and joined the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada Regiment, and throughout his military career participated in various deployments across Canada and around the world including Golan Heights, Cyprus, Germany among others. Over the years he would earn the rank of Chief Warrant Officer and the title of Regimental Sergeant Major and receive the “Canadian Forces' Decoration”; which is awarded to officers and non-commissioned Members of the Canadian Forces who have completed twelve years of service with a good record of conduct.
Mr. Wolfe is also a retired Municipal police officer with the New Westminster Police Department, a police use of force instructor and firearms trainer, and a former Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team leader and instructor. He was also a court certified “use of force” expert in Canada, USA and UK.
He has several television credits to his name including the “Devil’s Brigade” series and the “Camp X Secret Agent School” series - both of which aired on History Television.
And in 1985 he founded the International Defendo Federation, which is now called “Wolfe's Combatives”. Though his organization, he continues to train civilians, security, military, police, and other law enforcement agencies across the globe.

i was a street kid (many fights) then a high school wrestler, then i became a martial artist (many styles) then i worked in the bars (many fights) then i went back to learn BJJ and Thai boxing (because it was more effective than martial arts) i am not a black belt in anything but i was on the more "effective fighter" side of the classes i was involved with...BJJ was eye opening (i threw alot of martial arts crap away after this introduction) then Thai boxing (i threw more crap away after this introduction)...then i got trained by Bill Wolfe...we have all been lied to and fooled by what is really effective and can you do it under stress (i threw almost everything away after being trained by Bill)...this is REAL fighting !!! no BS...it hurts to train (as it should to prepare you for reality) Bill will test you and your stamina and your will to fight and not quit (as he should)... you will be exhausted, you will be sore and you will (sometimes) be frustrated and feel out of your element...BUT you will learn to fight...period...you will be better than you ever were or better than you ever thought you could be !!! period...strong basics and hard training is Bill Wolfe's way and it works !!! thats all i can say...this works and i am better (more effective) than i ever was...i wasted many years and dollars on BS training...if you want to learn to protect yourself and truly be an effective fighter who is in control of his/her fear and emotions so you can perform under the stress and reality of the streets then there is only 1 instructor that you need to visit...its hard, it hurts, its frustrating, BUT you WILL become a better protector of yourself and your loved ones...thank you Bill and ill see you soon for another "core" session (look up at whwolfe.com what a "core" session is)...this is life changing and life saving training !!! i hope i didnt pontificate too much...lol

Excellent no fluff outlook to combat and training the basics. Reminds me of the Bruce Lee quote. "I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times."
