I was able to fish like this it was one of the best experiences in my life would do it again in a minute, was so much fun and really got the heart pounding!!!!
@heyboy96 I am simply saying, I meant no offense, is it not likely that they are doing this just for food, and no by catch. Besides harpooning is pretty much the only method for swordfishing.

This is how you should catch swordfish. Long lines and nets are the problem. Fresh locally caught....fish on my brothers...did it out of Dana Point ...delivered few but quality fish direct to the restaurants....
It sort of is. It hurts and you're being reeled in. Same shit. I've caught plenty of fish with hooks in their backs, so yes, it is pretty much the same shit.
@greatwhite1222 well thay catch about 10 or more in this vid by this method isent that a very big catch for sword fishes? i mean sure there are more horrible ways to catch them. But i mean to drag up a fish like this with a fishingrod is reeaally hard work form what ive seen=) but i dont know maybe i just imagine that they arent so many of the swordfishes but mayby there are :o? hehe
