When I first started this series I truly did not like sesshomaru but slowly became extremely fond of him later in the show! He may act tough but his weakness became Rin. He doesn't say much but his acts of kindness and love are quietly said in the show. It does make me emotional that they did get together later on in the next series that was made. Now I Love him!

You need to love their relationship. A supreme being needs nothing, he does not need Rin but she adds to him far more than what "need" can add. He is already complete since he is a supreme but he expands greatly when he found her, he became forgiving when he found love, she is the one thing that made him discover inside him he never knew were there that's why he valued her more than life itself. And in the end of this series Rin was entrusted to Kaede to be 're-introduced' to human community (Rin prefers Sess company than her own villagers coz of their wrong doings against her). So she could really understand her choice in the future.

I remember watching Inuyasha back when I was in grade school, highschool and now I'm finally in my last year to complete my bachelor. I grew up liking the relationship of Inuyasha and Kagome during those times they were my favorite couple. But I don't know why, even then I have a feeling that Sesshomaru and Rin will most likely end up together. There was a hint in the series that Sesshomaru will probably love a human girl and inherit his father's fate loving a human girl. He has no one to protect but when he met Rin suddenly he got distracted because long before he met Rin he only wanted to build an empire and surpass his father but his priorities changed reason why he hunt down Naraku when Rin got abducted, as if Naraku's touched something precious to him, which is Rin. Sesshomaru was always there for Rin she taught him compassion, emphaty, and sympathy that is why he feel sympathy towards Kagura and the others . Even watching Kagura and Sesshomaru scenes I knew that they won't be together and indeed her death was overplayed and they shipped Kagura and Sesshomaru . It just that just like what Rin told to Sesshomaru, Kagura was lonely and he saw that to and he sympathize her. I didn't ship Sesshomaru and Rin back then it just a wildest thought of mine that I have a hint that Sesshomaru and Rin will be a couple . Especially everytime I watched Jakken being terrified to Sesshomaru because he know that he'll be dead if something bad happened to Rin out of his care. When I watched Sesshomaru despicing human I knew then that Sesshomaru will love a human becuase it was a sign that you will always ended up with to something you hating and in his case Rin was her downfall.And now I found out that they are married and have twins hahahah I'm so proud to myself because my hunch was righttttt. And the funny scenes to me in Yashamine was when the village was attack by demons (I forgot it already) Sesshomaru was guarding Rin and only watched Inuyasha battling with the demon. and sister of kohaku knew that they are safe becuase Sesshomaru guarding them because they with Rin. Even Jakken told shippo Sesshomaru doesn't care about the village . And I think those who criticizing their relationship missed the whole message of their story that shown from Inuyasha Series. Better watch Inuyasha again and see it yourself.

I get that a lot of people are disgusted by their pairing because Rin is a child. Okay, I’m there, I agree that there is a pedophilia implication going on IF LITERALLY YOU PAIR THEM AT THIS YOUNG AGE FOR RIN. But please take note, for those who are against their pairing: Sesshomaru is a demon; an immortal in this fictional story. He can live long enough to wait for Rin to grow up and be ‘of age’. Idk if the detractors/people against their pairing realized it, but Sesshomaru had been basically courting Rin when he left her in the human village at the care of Kaede. Yes, naturally I would agree that it’s sickening if Sesshomaru pursues Rin the way couples do while she’s only 8 years old BUT NO HE DOES NOT. He looks after her, cares for her, very protective of her-and if I’m not mistaken, without Author-Rumiko Takahashi directly describing it, she does indirectly show that Sesshomaru displays a certain kind of affection that sustains over time, what with all the gifts he would leave for Rin at the human village. Now if any of you argues that any father-figure would do that-okay, i agree with you. Unfortunately you can’t take away the EQUAL POSSIBILITY that the Author herself left an open-ended ending for this story, and that she never clarified that Sesshomaru saw Rin as a ‘daughter-figure’ for always. Don’t get me started on the truth of reality: be creeped out all you want, but it’s a reality that some men wait for young girls to grow up before they pursue them. I don’t think it’s immediately hideous, not unless such men are genuine pedophiles (and yes they exist), but some men who wait for such young females to grow up are not necessarily malicious. They do not necessarily yearn for them sexually. I’m not defending them, I’m just aware that there had been stories, confirmed, that certain men became interested with a female beauty and waited for her to grow up before he could court her. Again, i do not agree or condone with romantic-sexual pairings of very young children with any partner, regardless of the partner’s gender or age. I simply confirm the reality that men, even boys, wait for young women/girls, to GROW UP to a certain adolescent age when they can be properly, legally, and ethically be courted. From my observation of the anime, and yes this is merely my personal observation-again, Sesshomaru to begin with IS NOT HUMAN. Okay? And he’s very, very old. Okay? He can wait for anyone and still look like 19 years old. My point being, he’s not dumb, and he does what he wants. The author showed that Sesshomaru continued to show affection to Rin even when he left her at a human village. It is my prerogative to deduce that this immortal dude is most likely waiting for this girl to grow up, until she makes a choice. If you watched the anime, you know for a fact that Sesshomaru wanted Rin to make a proper choice later on. People, the fact that the author made it readable and audible that Rin WILL MAKE A CHOICE in due time is the answer in itself: Sesshomaru is waiting. He is trying to be honourable. In an interview with the author, she said that Sesshomaru finds Rin an ‘interesting human’. Honestly, she’s very cryptic. She left this ending with an allowance too big for interpretation. Now you can all grit your teeth and hate the idea, but Sesshomaru has all the time he needs, and Rin will still make a choice. Why, if a lady of an adult age decides to join a man in a lifelong journey, can you really discount the possibility that they won’t couple? Using the idea of Equal Possibilities: Granted that Sesshomaru might never have even considered Rin as a partner, and merely an adopted daughter only, just equally, he might end up marrying Rin or taking Rin as his partner/wife eventually if Rin chooses to marry him. The reason why i don’t buy the father-daughter construct is that Sesshomaru doesn’t strike me as a character who cares to bother for parental relationships. I really don’t know how he pereceived Rin, except the obvious that she’s very important to him. But seriously, I don’t think men who give gifts to young ladies see them exclusively as daughters. If you think it’s disturbing for Sesshomaru to pursue Rin, is it not equally disturbing that a man who has no affectionate interest toward any other being show affection to a young woman and not perceive it as courtship? I still think this pairing is open to interpretation. My interpretation is Sesshomaru is waiting for Rin to decide whether she wants to be with him someday, when she’s old enough to make an adult decision-As an adult. I totally get what you are saying. In my opinion and everyone else I know never thought Sesshomaru was a father figure to Rin. To me it seems like he really cares for her and she is important to him even though he doesn't admit it. He doesn't act like a father to me. I love your opinion. According to me, Sesshoumaru is like Rin's brother, so I never think that their relationship is father-daughter bond. In fact, Sesshoumaru is slowly changing to use his heart and growing his compassion after going everywhere with Rin. He shows his last greeting for Kagura for example--even before passed away, Kagura was surprised because Seshsoumaru said he could know her scent not as Naraku--it gives me a deep understanding that finally Sessoumaru express his hidden side. Honestly I love Sesshoumaru because he gives me a good example how is my ideal man. I like a man who uses his brain and respecting other (well, Sesshoumaru leaves Rin in village because he wants her to grow up normally until she can make her own choice as adult), and in this audio drama we also know that he wants an advice to state his feeling towards Rin to his father. Although, Sesshoumaru hated his father feeling to Izayoi,but then he knows his father's pure feeling. I think at first, Sesshoumaru just takes care Rin as a little sister but after seeing she grows up as a pretty lady, the feeling is slowly changing. Platonic love changes into a romance. Just remember, they aren't in the same blood and Sesshoumaru is a youkai who is immortal so it makes sense if he is waiting Rin becomes a young lady who is in a proper age to marry. It’s Loyalty 義理 at the beginning of the drama, albeit that between of a supreme Guardian dog spirit and its first pure human child owner, but it turned romantic into love as time goes by when the spent time with each other. That’s why Sesshomaru visits Rin often and gave her kimonos as she grew up. If I could have a word with the legendary Rumiko Takahashi, I wanna tell her to let Rin grow up and find a way to become a deity. Maybe the thing that Sesshomaru’s Mother gave Rin helped her somehow. So that she could live happily ever after with Lord Sesshomaru and never part again. For those who said they feel creepy, Sesshomaru may be 219 but that’s like the age of a 19 year old human being. 19 and 12 is not too far apart of an age and Sesshomaru waits patiently for Rin to grow up into his beautiful bride. I really hope Rumiko sensei will release a side story ending for Rin and Sesshomaru.

And in the end of this series Rin was entrusted to Kaede to be 're-introduced' to human community (Rin prefers Sess company than her own villagers coz of their wrong doings against her). So she could really understand her choice in the future.

I remember watching Inuyasha back when I was in grade school, highschool and now I'm finally in my last year to complete my bachelor. I grew up liking the relationship of Inuyasha and Kagome during those times they were my favorite couple. But I don't know why, even then I have a feeling that Sesshomaru and Rin will most likely end up together. There was a hint in the series that Sesshomaru will probably love a human girl and inherit his father's fate loving a human girl. He has no one to protect but when he met Rin suddenly he got distracted because long before he met Rin he only wanted to build an empire and surpass his father but his priorities changed reason why he hunt down Naraku when Rin got abducted, as if Naraku's touched something precious to him, which is Rin. Sesshomaru was always there for Rin she taught him compassion, emphaty, and sympathy that is why he feel sympathy towards Kagura and the others . Even watching Kagura and Sesshomaru scenes I knew that they won't be together and indeed her death was overplayed and they shipped Kagura and Sesshomaru . It just that just like what Rin told to Sesshomaru, Kagura was lonely and he saw that to and he sympathize her. I didn't ship Sesshomaru and Rin back then it just a wildest thought of mine that I have a hint that Sesshomaru and Rin will be a couple . Especially everytime I watched Jakken being terrified to Sesshomaru because he know that he'll be dead if something bad happened to Rin out of his care. When I watched Sesshomaru despicing human I knew then that Sesshomaru will love a human becuase it was a sign that you will always ended up with to something you hating and in his case Rin was her downfall.And now I found out that they are married and have twins hahahah I'm so proud to myself because my hunch was righttttt. Sesshomaru in very nature was stoic cold and very proud to his self, a lord indeed but when it comes to Rin they giving us a vibes like " love is a war and I'm your soldier" . For many Sesshomaru was a lord but to him he's rin soldier. And he sacrifice his dream and title to be with Rin . A dream to build an empire but now his priority was to keep Rin safe and he make sure that no one will hurt Rin. And of course he loves his daughters because they symbolize the love he has for his wife.
Ps: well I don't actually see their relationship as some kind of grooming. He let her decide for herself reason why he left her in the village. And the funny scenes to me in Yashamine was when the village was attack by demons (I forgot it already) Sesshomaru was guarding Rin and only watched Inuyasha battling with the demon. and sister of kohaku knew that they are safe becuase Sesshomaru guarding them because they with Rin. Even Jakken told shippo Sesshomaru doesn't care about the village . And I think those who criticizing their relationship missed the whole message of their story that shown from Inuyasha Series. Better watch Inuyasha again and see it yourself.

I get that a lot of people are disgusted by their pairing because Rin is a child. Okay, I’m there, I agree that there is a pedophilia implication going on IF LITERALLY YOU PAIR THEM AT THIS YOUNG AGE FOR RIN. But please take note, for those who are against their pairing: Sesshomaru is a demon; an immortal in this fictional story. He can live long enough to wait for Rin to grow up and be ‘of age’. Idk if the detractors/people against their pairing realized it, but Sesshomaru had been basically courting Rin when he left her in the human village at the care of Kaede.
Yes, naturally I would agree that it’s sickening if Sesshomaru pursues Rin the way couples do while she’s only 8 years old BUT NO HE DOES NOT. He looks after her, cares for her, very protective of her-and if I’m not mistaken, without Author-Rumiko Takahashi directly describing it, she does indirectly show that Sesshomaru displays a certain kind of affection that sustains over time, what with all the gifts he would leave for Rin at the human village.
Now if any of you argues that any father-figure would do that-okay, i agree with you.
Unfortunately you can’t take away the EQUAL POSSIBILITY that the Author herself left an open-ended ending for this story, and that she never clarified that Sesshomaru saw Rin as a ‘daughter-figure’ for always.
Don’t get me started on the truth of reality: be creeped out all you want, but it’s a reality that some men wait for young girls to grow up before they pursue them. I don’t think it’s immediately hideous, not unless such men are genuine pedophiles (and yes they exist), but some men who wait for such young females to grow up are not necessarily malicious. They do not necessarily yearn for them sexually. I’m not defending them, I’m just aware that there had been stories, confirmed, that certain men became interested with a female beauty and waited for her to grow up before he could court her.
Again, i do not agree or condone with romantic-sexual pairings of very young children with any partner, regardless of the partner’s gender or age.
I simply confirm the reality that men, even boys, wait for young women/girls, to GROW UP to a certain adolescent age when they can be properly, legally, and ethically be courted.
From my observation of the anime, and yes this is merely my personal observation-again, Sesshomaru to begin with IS NOT HUMAN. Okay? And he’s very, very old. Okay? He can wait for anyone and still look like 19 years old. My point being, he’s not dumb, and he does what he wants.
The author showed that Sesshomaru continued to show affection to Rin even when he left her at a human village.
It is my prerogative to deduce that this immortal dude is most likely waiting for this girl to grow up, until she makes a choice.
If you watched the anime, you know for a fact that Sesshomaru wanted Rin to make a proper choice later on.
People, the fact that the author made it readable and audible that Rin WILL MAKE A CHOICE in due time is the answer in itself: Sesshomaru is waiting.
He is trying to be honourable. In an interview with the author, she said that Sesshomaru finds Rin an ‘interesting human’.
Honestly, she’s very cryptic. She left this ending with an allowance too big for interpretation.
Now you can all grit your teeth and hate the idea, but Sesshomaru has all the time he needs, and Rin will still make a choice.
Why, if a lady of an adult age decides to join a man in a lifelong journey, can you really discount the possibility that they won’t couple?
Using the idea of Equal Possibilities: Granted that Sesshomaru might never have even considered Rin as a partner, and merely an adopted daughter only, just equally, he might end up marrying Rin or taking Rin as his partner/wife eventually if Rin chooses to marry him.
The reason why i don’t buy the father-daughter construct is that Sesshomaru doesn’t strike me as a character who cares to bother for parental relationships.
I really don’t know how he pereceived Rin, except the obvious that she’s very important to him.
But seriously, I don’t think men who give gifts to young ladies see them exclusively as daughters.
If you think it’s disturbing for Sesshomaru to pursue Rin, is it not equally disturbing that a man who has no affectionate interest toward any other being show affection to a young woman and not perceive it as courtship?
I still think this pairing is open to interpretation. My interpretation is Sesshomaru is waiting for Rin to decide whether she wants to be with him someday, when she’s old enough to make an adult decision-As an adult.

I totally get what you are saying. In my opinion and everyone else I know never thought Sesshomaru was a father figure to Rin. To me it seems like he really cares for her and she is important to him even though he doesn't admit it. He doesn't act like a father to me. I love your opinion. According to me, Sesshoumaru is like Rin's brother, so I never think that their relationship is father-daughter bond. In fact, Sesshoumaru is slowly changing to use his heart and growing his compassion after going everywhere with Rin. He shows his last greeting for Kagura for example--even before passed away, Kagura was surprised because Seshsoumaru said he could know her scent not as Naraku--it gives me a deep understanding that finally Sessoumaru express his hidden side.
Honestly I love Sesshoumaru because he gives me a good example how is my ideal man. I like a man who uses his brain and respecting other (well, Sesshoumaru leaves Rin in village because he wants her to grow up normally until she can make her own choice as adult), and in this audio drama we also know that he wants an advice to state his feeling towards Rin to his father.
Although, Sesshoumaru hated his father feeling to Izayoi,but then he knows his father's pure feeling. I think at first, Sesshoumaru just takes care Rin as a little sister but after seeing she grows up as a pretty lady, the feeling is slowly changing. Platonic love changes into a romance. Just remember, they aren't in the same blood and Sesshoumaru is a youkai who is immortal so it makes sense if he is waiting Rin becomes a young lady who is in a proper age to marry. It isn't a pedophil. Pedophil will force a little kid to pursue his desire even she is 8 or 9 y.o

It’s Loyalty 義理 at the beginning of the drama, albeit that between of a supreme Guardian dog spirit and its first pure human child owner, but it turned romantic into love as time goes by when the spent time with each other. That’s why Sesshomaru visits Rin often and gave her kimonos as she grew up. If I could have a word with the legendary Rumiko Takahashi, I wanna tell her to let Rin grow up and find a way to become a deity. Maybe the thing that Sesshomaru’s Mother gave Rin helped her somehow. So that she could live happily ever after with Lord Sesshomaru and never part again.
For those who said they feel creepy, Sesshomaru may be 219 but that’s like the age of a 19 year old human being. 19 and 12 is not too far apart of an age and Sesshomaru waits patiently for Rin to grow up into his beautiful bride.
