@@kennethterry8196 so did a similar one when Mark Martin had the brand he had a good one when it was strictly Kellogg's not the Kellogg's Toney the Tiger one.
8:49 excuse me... but did I just see both Johnson and Keselowski get passed by Landon Cassill?!.... *Truly was a Silver Bullet for Starcom that day* lol
@@timpowell1429 That's mainly because he's never in a situation to be flipped, he's always at the back of the pack lol! One can say about his equipment, which hasn't changed much since Landon drove it, but he's not good enough to even be in the mix at Dega or Daytona lol. The only way he could, is if he's the only driver to stay out during caution! lol.
Some of my favs by year; 2015: Dillion or kasey 2016: Jeff, biffle or tony 2017: Cody ware 2018: KFB or Austin 2019: Landon or bryon 2020: all of the Hendrick throwbacks 2021: Chase, kris, Joe graf, etc There’s a lot I can’t list them.
Bowman's 2019 throwback to Tim Richmond is my all-time favorite. He not only brought the beautiful scheme, he went all in with the mustache and the shades. He brought character, and what a legend he was throwing it back to as well.
One of my all-time favorite throwbacks wasn't a Darlington scheme but when Keselowski ran the Rusty Wallace Blue/White scheme at Bristol a few years ago, that one was perfect and I always wanted to buy a die cast of that car since I have the original diecast version signed by Rusty. A close second will be when that Lajoie/Kulwicki throwback hits the track this weekend.
Great list. I have been watching since 1992 so I have seen most of these originals race in person. Being a Kyle Petty fan as a kid, that #42 Mello Yellow brings back the feels haha
The term Silver Bullet is what Coors refered to the beer as, then the car was dubbed it. Good PICKS ICEBERG! I'm definitely partial to the D.O.T. schemes and the nineties.
I love that the 3 and the 24 have stopped exhausting Dale’s and Jeff’s schemes. Not that they were bad just that they have begun to showcase other drivers who were good in those numbers.
I 100% agree with your number one choice! Something about Dodge and beer in the early 2000s... Rusty and Sterling had the best looking cars on the track week in and week out!
First off, really love the channel! I think Dale Jr's Valvoline tribute to Mark Martin should be on the list at least as an honorable mention. Maybe do a list of honorable mentions too.
Soooo many good ones. Larson Mello Yello, Keselowski's black #2, Byron's days of thunder, Logano had some Indy 500 inspired scheme one time. Someone this year had a Gatorade from Darrell Waltrip glory era. Stenhouse had a blue and gold David Pearson scheme couple of years ago. Danica had a late 90s Dale Jarrett one. Most epic one is however the JJ with the Earnhardt/Petty scheme.
The Joe Graf Jr back to the future scheme this year was perfect. Even had the lice se plate on the back. He dressed up like marry as well with a hoverboard
My favorites are Joey Logano’s Schemes from 2016 and 2018, Kyle Busch’s skittles throwback, and William Byron’s Rainbow Warrior scheme. I know the Rainbow Warrior scheme is pretty cliche but it’s such a good look on track, even with the Axalta logo instead of Dupont
If I were Kyle Bush I would have tried to get the Car scheme of the 1990's 18 Interstate Battery car, it is one of his sponsors and he has the number 18 car. That car was so different when everyone else had either dark cars or red sponsors for cars and if not then white for the Majority of car here comes a guy racing in an electric green car with what looks like electricity on the sides.
Yep He did a Davy Allison one in the Miller high Life, a Rusty Wallace Miller Light the year he won Darlington the first time in the 1990's and a Miller for the year that Davy Allison ran for strictly Miller.
When the 42 paid tribute to Davey back in the 2000s. Texaco with the white and black Davey Allison scheme was great at Dega that year. Use to have that die-cast. But I know it doesn't meet the criteria here.
I hate that it got used up so quick though. As a big JG fan since 1994, I wish they would do other Jeff schemes. Holding out hope for a Jurassic Park throwback or 98 Chroma Premiere throwback.
My favourites from each year in Cup: 2015: Kyle Larson's Mello Yello car. 2016: Jamie McMurray's Mac Tonight car. 2017: Kasey Kahne's Geoff Bodine car. 2018: Kyle Busch's Ernie Irvan Skittles car. 2019: Bubba Wallace's Adam Petty car. 2020: Ryan Blaney's Blue Menards car. 2021: William Byron's Neil Bonnett Valvoline car.
I love a lot of the schemes, especially when it’s from the 90s to 2000s like you said the ones growing up watching but some of the schemes I believe don’t look great on the new cup cars like the William byrons city Chevrolet car even tho it is an iconic throwback
Pretty good list, I would have put the mello yellow car higher. My only other one was a couple of the Brad K Miller lite cars, primarily the black/gold one! That one was awesome and I’m an old Edwards fan haha!
The only thing that could have made that Jimmie Petty/Dale throwback better is if they somehow emphasized the 3 inside the 8 on the top and the door. I don't know how they would have done that but since Richard and Dale Jr both gave their blessing it still definitely deserves to be on the list. Kyle throwing back Kyle made perfect sense too, especially getting the number right. The only one I would really add was the 77 from last year, so simple yet very accurate to that one time Dale ran the 77. I still say Penske needs to do a 2 throwback to Dale's championship season, but being a Ford that would make people's heads explode.
eyyyyyy didn't think anyone would have the same #1 as me, that 00 was the best....might be due to Sterling Marlin being my fav. driver but that's beside the point. I always loved the silver car.
I liked when they did throwback for the Xfinity series 2022 and Jeffrey Earnhardt got to drive the number 3 with Larry Mac on the box at Talladega as he finished 2nd.
I can't give a top ten, but I can tell you my #1. Hamlin's Cale Yarborough throwback from 2020. Why? Because FedEx was willing to let them dig up logos *and a corporate name* that they hadn't used in 30 years for it. I'm old enough to remember Federal Express using the full name, and running that very same paint scheme on their delivery trucks, and it just made me feel so damned *happy* to see it again...
I've got a Carrera I believe slot car with the black and gold number 13 on a Torino Talladega so it's just the straight black with the gold lettering with the red outlines it's so gorgeous
I like the Zerex car from Spire I remember that car being on track in late 80’s through 1990. I really think the Hendrick cars should do all the cars from Days of Thunder. Should have them all the Exxon Hardee’s Superflo and City Chevrolet car would be epic and probably not topped.
Do you think you could do a video of throwbacks from races that were not the Darlington throwback race? Like Jr.’s throwback from 06 and others like the Davey Alison throwback from Talledega?
The Jimmy Johnson paint scheme has to be first place That 21 champions on one car And they all in the talk for goat of nascar but I liked the list anyways
Okay so the Mello yellow car wsa also a Days of Thunder throw back. but City Chevrolet is one of Rick Hendricks dealerships. so that was an easy one to be able to put together for Byron's car
No love for the 2021 Dinger throwback to his first win. They did so accurate with the scheme and font to make it look like the sponsors were on the car.
My Favorite Throwbacks are: - 2020 Jimmie Johnson Tribute Paint Schemes by Bowman, Chase and Byron - Jimmie's 2020 Tribute Scheme for co 7x Champs Dale Sr. And Richard Petty - William Byron's City Chevy 2019 - Ryan Blaney's Michael Waltrip Pennzoil - Kyle Larson's Mellow Yellow - Dale Jr. Gray Ghost - Brad Keselowski Miller Genuine Draft - The Wonder Bread Truck 2021 - the Alan Kulwicki Zerex Return by Corey Lajoie - Chase Elliott Alan Kulwicki Hooters Return - Silver Bullet 2019
My top 10 but in no order because I'm too lazy to rank them -Kyle Larson Mello Yello/Kyle Petty 2015 -Kyle Busch Interstate Batteries/Dale Jarrett 2016 -Carl Edwards Tony Stewart Rookie car 2016 -Jamie McMurray MacTonight/Bill Elliott 2016 -William Byron Rainbow Warrior 2018 -Kurt Busch Sharpie/Closest finish ever 2018 -Landon Cassill Coors/Sterling Marlin 2019 -Clint Bowyer Offlice Depot/Tony Stewart 2019 -Jimmie Johnson 7 time champs 2020 -Michael McDowell Coors/Bill Elliott 2021
As a Tony Stewart fan I'm glad to see at least one of his 3 championship schemes on the list but I'd personally rather put Aric Almirola's of the 02 championship instead of Clint's. Although the 11 championship in my opinion is one of the best championship races.
I wish that Suarez in that 99 would either do an Aflac or Exide themed throwback.
100% agreed. Hopefully next year. 🙏
@Bradley Biggers that Kellogg’s Scheme absolutely rocked!!!
@@kennethterry8196 so did a similar one when Mark Martin had the brand he had a good one when it was strictly Kellogg's not the Kellogg's Toney the Tiger one.

What are your all-time favorite Darlington throwbacks?
Also this was supposed to go out yesterday so there will be no footage from the truck race.
Oof
Probably Johnson 7X
JJ's throw bac to the king and the intimidator and then his dress up with the Petty's hat and Earnhardt's Shades was cool
@Wimpy I can totally agree with that
William Byron 2019 and dale jr 2017
William Byron’s Days of thunder throwback and Landon Cassill’s Sterling Marlin throwback were badass.
The cool thing about Austin's silver car was it was kept secret like Dale's car was.
The #4 Busch Cale Yarborough tribute in 2016 belongs on the list. Absolute classic.
Jimmie Johnson 2020 was the best one I have seen. Also you should do a worst list. Pretty sure the 47 2021 "throwback" is tops of the worst
The Iceberg uploaded on the weekend?... *Since when did I transfer to another universe?*
2021 is an odd year lol. In all reality this was supposed to come out yesterday but my internet crapped out on me lol

It's great when the sponcers step up to the plate. Seems like it's happening more, and I hope it continues.
That Brandon Brown throwback took the top spot for me, with Mellow Yellow coming in a very close second.
I've never seen anyone so excited about fonts before.
What About Eric Estepp
I liked the first few years where they had the legends Ned Jarret and Ken Squier in the booth to call part of the race
That was awesome.
The Kyle Busch Skittles and Snickers throwbacks are two of my favorites.
Great list. I have been watching since 1992 so I have seen most of these originals race in person. Being a Kyle Petty fan as a kid, that #42 Mello Yellow brings back the feels haha

Agreed
Yeah they were running those into the ground. I love the 24 throwback this year
Favorite throwback ever is Tony Stewart's 2016 Bobby Allison Coca Cola throwback. The gold and red with Coca Cola is amazing.
and it was one of his sponsors.
The 96 Miller scheme Brad ran a couple years ago. Looked amazing in 96 and 20 years later.
I loved that fusion scheme between Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty. It has all three 7-time cup series champions in it.

I'll take the #2 splash car. It's literally the '96 car just on a Mustang and driven by Keselowski
The Mello Yello is my favorite
The 48/Earnhardt/Petty should be number 1. I can't imagine that will ever be topped.
Harvick’s throwback scheme from last year should be on this list too
My Favorite is Jamie McMurray's Mac Tonight Throwback to Bill Elliott
Josh berry’s dale jr inspired paint scheme from the 2001 Pepsi 400 at this years race at Darlington.
The Silver Bullet yeah i agree for the #1. But i was expecting the '16 Kyle Busch throwback😧
Not sure if you knew this but when they started the 24 with Gordon They originally wanted to make the car 46 play the movie company said no
I like the throwback schemes
