It's a strange idea to think of a choir, an orchestra, a pianist and a solo singer doing a lip sync number. I think rather that it is the final rendering by internet which decreases the quality and the synchronization. I love your analyzes and your professionalism.
I agree. Tried to see/hear where the woman was "off" - only thing I noticed her voice was not loud enough in the beginning, does that indicate lipsync?
@@SingingwithLauren The video is a single audio track, likely recorded from the sound equipment itself, while the video is essentially a bunch of different, isolated camera videos spliced and cut into each other using different transition types. I've done a tiny bit of video editing and getting video and audio to match perfectly (if they don't come from the same source, eg; a camera that records both video and audio; they'll need to be synced) is time-consuming even with just a couple different video tracks; much less several different cameras, some moving and some stationary, as seen here.
I did not see her a lip syncing as it was too real looking to me...I could be wrong but that was my take...I think the song is epic and on the same level as fire works in it's revelation in telling a masterful story...it is masterful!
Krutoy and the lyricist (Lilia Vinogradova, the Russian poet and songwriter who also wrote the words for Ogni Pietra) seem to be creating for Dimash a spiritual journey of sorts. The backdrop for much of the performance is an illumination by Bartolomeo Di Fruosino done for Book 1 (The Inferno) of Dante's Divine Comedy.
I suspect it was just bad video syncing, since the video has a bunch of cuts and different angles. Someone had to manually synchronize most of that with the audio track, and that can be really time-consuming.
LOVE COCOA! Lauren, thank you. This was an annual festival in Sochi & this song is the 2nd composed by Igor for MY LOVE Dimash. As you saw he is on stage as every song Dimash sang belongs to Igor. Hello Laura I knew this theatrical piece was so familiar. It is actually the most famous masterpiece by an Italian poet, philosopher of 7 centures ago. His name is Dante I recognized it by the floating figures in hell behind the screen. The theatrical piece consists of 3 parts: hell, purgatory and paradise. The screemmimg of the chorus lady was the inferno, purgatory. The girl brakes such inferno and the rescued soul grows towards God. Read his poems if you wish so rich Italian mideval times. ✌
Yeah I agree re the woman, I don't think there was a need to show her as I think it was part of the music "track" like the breathing part is so loud I doubt it's someone breathing into a mic as I don't think that's how it would sound I imagine they wanted a very specific intensity for those bits, but she wasn't convincing to me, if she was actually doing it then she wasn't very committed to it with her eyes etc. But if you watch the fan cam you see he's live he's fiddling with his mic pack and all sorts and those crazy mix notes would probably have made his skull hurt if he'd kept his ear piece in, gosh, can't imagine what singing that high with so much power must feel like in your skull. Does your mix go high? If so what does it feel like on the more extremely acute notes when you lean into them? Do you feel the vibrations stronger? Would you need to take your in ear out (if you ever perform with them), or is that his personal preference? I've never used in ears but I've been told they basically cancel out the noise surrounding you and I reckon that kind of pressure on your ears when you go powerfully high would probably be too intense if you kept the monitors in I imagine? Might be wholly wrong and it could just be his preference. I love the song! The drums are a rather interesting rhythm at certain parts too
@@funkyfranx I just meant the mixed notes from how they sound I think they vibrate differently in your skull? I don't think he took out the in ear specifically for the head voice bit but instead to prepare to go quickly into the full voice to mixed voice as it came up so quickly after that section he wouldn't have had chance to pull them out if he'd waited until after the head voice bit. If that makes sense?
@@SingingwithLauren does it feel intense when you do it even without in ears? I personally can't do high belts or whistle so have no idea how it actually feels. From the sciencey side of it I can estimate how those kind of intense sound waves travelling through bone would vibrate it but can't imagine the sensation. Thanks for responding
Lauren: I loved how you correctly and beautifully pronounced Passione when you introduced the song. I have a favor to ask. Dimash when he was young (2016) performed a number so beautifully felt and/or acted out that the emotion of the song transcended the need for translation. This is a performance in Kazakhstan, 2016, a year before Singer. If anyone scouting for singer had heard this, they would have invited him on the spot. His parents, who are professional singers, introduced him at the start. The rest of the family is in the audience and you can see his little brother, Mansur clapping at the end of the song. Behind him is his band The song: STARLING "KaraTorgai" ruclips.net/video/hwim4qDJNjk/видео.html Please react to this before moving on.
Thank you for your insight into this performance. Unlike some commenters, I didn't find your remarks shallow or lacking. You made a number of good points about Dimash's performance. And I agree that the woman is obviously lip-syncing. Please don't pay any attention to those who claim that your CPU is acting up. I have seen many other reactions that notice the same issue with the woman. Surely not all computers can be having problems with CPUs while watching this same video! I've already watched this video many times and I must say, it is startling. I'm not a big fan of the discordant parts with the breathing and such but if it was the purpose of Krutoy to introduce a touch of chaos into the mix, perhaps it fits. Maybe it is the Russian influence: both Krutoy and the lyricist (Lilia Vinogradova, who also wrote "Ogni Pietra") come from that cultural background and maybe this form is consistent with artistic expression 'round those parts. In any case, it is a song that does make you think; it is rich in images of good versus evil, love and desire, etc. Thank you.
How is she meant to familiarise herself with the verses of the song if it's a first time reaction? I also don't think one needs to study it first to be able to give a brief opinion of the performance. One could go into the clear inspiration from the work of Dante etc but here the focus is on singing technique and I think Lauren delivered that.
I didn't think the woman in the chorus was lip-sync. I looked at the another clip that is not a reaction vid and there wasn't the minute delay. If anything the little girl's voice could have been lip-synced. I don't know why the choral vocalist would have been. Just an observation. that being said, great reaction - very informative.

Love the video! Somehow your voice is way smaller than Dimash's audio so everytime you talk i have to turn up the volume but when dimash start singing again i have to lower the volume bcs it become too loud for my ear (using headphone). Just a little suggestion, maybe come closer to the mic? Or balance the audio between your talking voice and Dimash's video
What high note are you talking about exactly because the highest notes here are D6 & E6 and Dimash reached both notes in more than 10 performances of SOS in 8 different countries , 2 of them in front of judges and one in a restaurant with just simple music playing with him and one acapella so shut the fuck up . Even teenage Dimash is on video hitting the E6 and after that hitting G7 whistle

Today I did not like your analysis. You did not say anything meaningful. This epic vocal masterpiece is about transforming bodily passion into heart love) Just look at the projection in the background where Ad Bartolomeo Di Fruozino is shown)) and everything becomes clear. The choir in black represents our sinful passions, the little girl on the stage represents our SOUL, which is forever pure and innocent as a child (reference to the Bible and the words of Jesus Christ “He who does not accept the Kingdom of God in childhood will not enter it.”) We we live our lives full of passions, but we must remember that the SOUL lives in us, this is OUR REAL AUTHENTIC part of God. Nothing is lost in life until we remember it. We must fight our passions, as this struggle helps us strengthen our souls. This reminds me of the words of Christ that only when we become children will we enter the kingdom of heaven.

He sang 4 songs live a few days ago at the WorldSkills in Kazan. But the New Wave was always an event at which you needed to use pre-recordings. I even talked with someone who works there and he said that Dimash had been allowed to sing Mademoiselle Hyde live at the Opening Ceremony, but that they only had the equipment and staff there for the Opening, and that all other performances if Dimash he had on the other days of the festival were not live (including this one). Anis Berhil What’s your deal? You say this all the time on virtually everyone of Dimash’s performances even when it’s obviously live. You have no basis to say that it’s “obvious” that it’s LS because all OBJECTIVE evidence indicates that it is more likely than not that he was singing live. The chorus and the woman who was speaking may not have been, but, for examples, you can see that Dimash first checks his mic, you can see his larynx changing position, you can see the veins in his throat bulge at times, you can hear him taking breaths, he takes his in ear out at an appropriate time, one of the last notes was not perfect, etc. None of these things are likely to happen if he was merely lip syncing so my opinion that it was live is at least based on empirical evidence. Your opinion is not based on anything. There are a few of you commenters who almost always say he’s lip syncing and I wonder what makes you do this? Are you just jealous or is there some other more insidious reason you feel compelled to say this all the time? BTW, I am not one of those people who believes that he never lip syncs; I’m just saying it appears that he’s singing live here.

It's a strange idea to think of a choir, an orchestra, a pianist and a solo singer doing a lip sync number. I think rather that it is the final rendering by internet which decreases the quality and the synchronization.
I love your analyzes and your professionalism.
Hey Francois! I thought of that too but wouldn’t the whole track be off then? Why just that random part do you think?
Lauren, sing this song. I would be happy to review your version.

DIMASH 👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑X SEMPRE
Krutoy and the lyricist (Lilia Vinogradova, the Russian poet and songwriter who also wrote the words for Ogni Pietra) seem to be creating for Dimash a spiritual journey of sorts. The backdrop for much of the performance is an illumination by Bartolomeo Di Fruosino done for Book 1 (The Inferno) of Dante's Divine Comedy.
Thank you Lauren for the great reaction.
I have heard that Igor Krutoy required the female part to be lip sync so that it would not interfere with the perfection that is Dimash
please dont misunderstading she is talk about that women lipsyinc not dimash ..thanks for your attention
I suspect it was just bad video syncing, since the video has a bunch of cuts and different angles. Someone had to manually synchronize most of that with the audio track, and that can be really time-consuming.

The drums are a rather interesting rhythm at certain parts too
He kept the in-ears in during his Arnau performance of Ogni Pietra though, that had powerful high notes in it (up to E6 I think)
So like the A5 is where I'm asking how that feels, if it's necessity or preference that he usually takes his in ears out for high mixed notes
It seems like a lot of the singers take it out right before the do high whistle and belting. 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Thank you.
Singing with Lauren.
To discass the perfomanse on stage you need to familiaraize yourself with verses of the song.
Just an observation. that being said, great reaction - very informative.

you look bellow two times, and you miss two nice moments..

Thanks for your comment. I do appreciate feedback. :)
Normally love Dimash . This composition by Victor was too disjointed for me. First time this great composer has lost me.
nope, this one doesn't do it for me...
i know its written to wow ppl with some strange notes, but i wouldn't listen to it again.
I listened it for 3 times
Then i loved it.
The shallowness of this reaction and the magnificence of this LIVE performance with it's genius composer and genius singer as another more honest vocal coach said it ...is quite a bit unbalanced to say the least.
Songs in Italian are boring. Dimash needs songs in English.
It's lipsynced from A to Z
So obvious
Thank you for your expertise, did ever occurred to you that maybe you are just stupid?
@@cooperblue1191 the Russian New Wave Festival had always been a playback event (which is unfortunately rather usual for TV events in Russia) every single song by every single singer had always been playback there... for decades.. and it's even an official part of the festival regulations... that's why I was not pleased at all when I heard that he would participate (he had several performances there after all, over several days)
It's a very prestigious event in Russia with a loooot of viewers and it brought him a lot of new fans (the new subscribers to his YT channel exploded over the last few days), but I'm still not happy with it, bc it's not good for his image. I don't think that they made an exception for Dimash. They couldn't even have. They don't even have the technical equipment and sound engineering for live performances. For some songs they already had a studio recording. For Know they had a demo recording they used, for one song they used a mic feed of an earlier performance and for this one they did a quick recording a few days ago just for the festival.
@@cooperblue1191 Thx for your compliment
@@JasminGardenia so M.Hyde was live or not? Sorry english is not my native, so I did not understand. And "Know" was not live? I was pretty sure it was....
Who else votes for him to sing any song from Phantom of the Opera especially point of no return 😍
I sure hope so and he said recently that he is working on some operatic pieces but he's more focused on getting his degree in composition.
