This is the comparison of my own DJI Osmo Pocket to my old DJI Osmo. Tests done: walking test, running test, slow motion test and low light test. Thanks to my brother for assisting me in filming this video. And also thanks to Espressions cafe. Links to their channel below:

Definitions:
1. Padaba - means Love in Bicol language of the Philippines

I think the stabilisation is better on the old Osmo. Picture Quality looks overall better on Pocket, but sometimes too artificial. But Low Light Performance and features are better on Pocket. I would definitely go for the Pocket. Overall quality is at least similar and it is much smaller. And for me it is great to have build in Display. The Smartphone Setup always takes somes time and is not very handy. I have the Osmo+ and like it much, but Pocket literally seems the perfect always in pocket gimball for holiday or small trips.
This video is critical to ANYONE who’s thinking about buying the pocket. I want stable footage, with a small payload, without sacrificing my phone or using it’s front facing cam. Definitely going to save a buck or two and go for the original
if size and portability isn't an issue, yeah definitely the old one
But it still does have tracking is wobbly

The old osmo is much more stable than the pocket. I wonder why DJI discontinued it 🤔🤔
Cost more to produce ,well designed .They think everyone wants small devices like what happened to mobile phones and now they just got bigger,keeps us all spending our hard earned cash,have to admit the pocket does look sharper but not nice to hold as the old hand grip is perfect

@@pauldeshield I hear ya very much. The a6300 looks like a great camera. Doing research between small cameras to capture intros at wedding and other events so I can move more freely. I'm not sure what you capture with each camera but I'm hoping to hear you say you've had no overheating issues with the Sony.
@@boahandarrowsproductions4326 no overheating issues at all. I've shot in 4k with no problems. I'm loving the a6300 so far. I rented the osmo out to a client to make little daily update videos.

I have both, actually all of them ( osmo, osmo+,osmo pro, and pocket) The pocket with an attached cell phone is golden. I use the older osmos kinda like gopros (car, boom, action footage) which is really useful. I use wireless Rode go mics with the older Osmo+, to do my youtube videos. Great review. Don't buy the osmo pro.

Thanks for the review of both cameras. Always wanted to get the old Osmo but the new pocket Osmo rocks just as much with a quarter of the size.

Well, if you have the Osmo plus I would not upgrade. Osmo plus is more professional over all. DJI should continue to support the Osmo with firmware upgrades. It is a great camera.

I ask only one important question..have you been able to "record-pause-record-pause=1file, multi angles"...or is each record-pause a "stop-rec" & a separate file, then to put-together in post?

I have a lot of respect of in your professionalism, cool detail post reviews..even dji is tight lipped ? regarding, multi angle record-pause on as-one file..which I can and am doing with ultra21..
Personally, I did not see enough of a difference to ditch my original Osmo. I think that is one of my biggest problems with DJI. I mean why make a product that does exactly what the first did.....like when the came out with the cell phone gimbal attachment ($169.00) and then came out with the Osmo Mobile ($129.00). I mean it's like they totally want to screw their customers. I decided to give a good look at the Vmate Gimbal. I appears to be the Osmo Pocket closest competitor ($189.00).
Bili ako next year. Charot lang 😅. Pero if I will be getting one, yung pocket osmo ang gusto ko.

Yeah! although it's really hard to avoid the up and down movement due to its size and weight. Compare to its bigger heavier older brother. :D

The side by side walking test means not how the gimbals perform, it‘s more your kind of walk and hold the gimbals. A good gimbal can have bad footage if you are not able to walk like a Ninja....Brandon Li‘s Footage is smoother handheld than yours with a gimbal...sorry Bro.

Osmo pocket is a wonderful consumer based fun gadget great for vloggers n family trips ... but osmo and osmo + one can do some, if not most, professional work with D log in it and a steadier hand grip with the plus there is zoom option and i have filmed about 20 music videos with just that osmo+

@@DerAssiaufRUclips osmo plus (osmo+) came out after the original osmo it cam zoom has a better grip than osmo pocket and is more convenient to use ... can do 4k 60 fps and 120 fps in 1080 ... my only issue with pocket is that it is too tiny for maneuverability n gets weird when i try to attach my mobile phone to it

yes, It must be due to the size and weight of the older osmo. Will try to get the z-axis for the osmo pocket to reduce the up and down movement ;-)

For me? Pocket is better.
I like the wider view of the Osmo and the distance focus is much sharper than the pocket, but the pocket wins in low light and colour warmth.

Damn, I just got a little bit of buyers remorse from watching this video haha, I just bought a second hand DJI Osmo for 9kPHP. I guess it's not that bad of a deal, although I could've saved a bit more and just got the pocket oh well
nothing to worry about, the older osmo is more stable due to it's weight and size. And save a bit and get yourself a pre owned X5 cinema grade camera uprade for your osmo.

I have both the old Osmo and the Osmo pocket. The old Osmo wins when it comes to stabilization but vibrancy in colors the pocket is the Go to gadget.
Old osmo you can turn on vibrancy in colors in camera settings,like you have both and still like using the old as it feels right in the hand unlike the new osmo is like a toy although very good video
