    I’ve been wanting to get a label printer for my small business for the longest time and finally pulled the trigger. I’m glad I did ! This machine is great ruclips.net/user/postUgkxw55tQTywUAAOsbrlwxONZULry77sFF1Q and the blue/green color matches the rest of the accents in my office. My favorite part is how small the footprint is. It’s less than 1/4 the size of my regular printer.Set up was fairly easy. Seller will email you a link with video instructions Which I found to be more helpful than the written instructions. I use a Mac and had no issues. They even included an adaptor for USB to USB-c which is great because I’m always losing mine! I had a few issues getting the labels to print properly and wasted quite a few sheets. You need to play around with the settings to get everything adjusted just right. If you have the wrong settings, it’ll crop off the edges or feed through blank labels. These aren’t issues with the machine though, just user error.

    Hi there, how many spray paint can did you use per chair?

  • @logical1291
    @logical1291 2 года назад +3

    Hi. I have black iron chairs with some rust. There isn’t any chipped paint. Aside from the sander and brush. How could I remove the rust? Once removed do I need to paint them or can I just clean them with soap and water? Thank you.

    • @BuskItBarn
      @BuskItBarn  2 года назад +1

      If the paint is in tact, the rust you’re seeing is underneath the paint. I would use the same process to remove the paint and then the rust, unless you want to use a chemical stripper. Make sure you use a professional respirator mask if you go that route, so you don’t inhale any fumes. Smart Strip is another option that apparently is less toxic but I haven’t tried it yet.
      I’d recommend painting any iron given it’s susceptibility to rusting.

    What was that sprayer you put on the can called and where did you get it?

    • @BuskItBarn
      @BuskItBarn  3 месяца назад +1

      Rustoleum Spray Can Grip. You can buy them at Ace hardware, or online if you don’t have Ace in your area.

  • @joespittle1
    @joespittle1 2 года назад +4

    How many chairs do you think you could comfortably do with one can of paint. I don't want to go overboard at the hardware store. My furniture isn't rusty, just faded. I was planning on just scuffing it up with 150 grit sand paper. Do you think that will be enough or should I go a bit rougher?

    • @BuskItBarn
      @BuskItBarn  2 года назад +2

      I think scuffing with 150 is just fine. I used one can per chair after doing the a coat of primer, but I had exposed metal after sanding. So, I think if you want it to look brand new do at least one can per chair, but if your happy doing a light touch up that’s not perfect, you could get away with a little less - maybe 3/4 of a can per chair. Make sure to use a strong sandpaper with 150, don’t get the cheap Ace or Home Depot stuff. I recommend a 3M paper or there’s a small company called Serious Grit that’s cheaper and extremely tough.
      Good luck!

    • @joespittle1
      @joespittle1 2 года назад +2

      @@BuskItBarn Thanks, I had some left over 3M 150 grit laying around so I'll use that. I'm not overly fussed with it looking brand new as it's a 10 year old table and chairs. Thanks for the help :)

    Does it have to be an orbital sander? I have a traditional type sander.

    • @BuskItBarn
      @BuskItBarn  2 года назад

      I’m sure you can, but random orbital sanders are easy to control, get a good results, are safer than some other options. If you don’t have a random orbital sander, you’ll find you can get one fairly inexpensive and can find one at garage sales too. They’re also like the Swiss Army knives of sanders - extremely versatile and always come in handy. Just my two cents for what it’s worth!

    Should the orignal coat be mostly removed or just scratched up enough for the new coat to stick?

    • @BuskItBarn
      @BuskItBarn  25 дней назад +2

      It depends on the condition of the paint you’re covering. You want to remove anything that could crack and flake off, and as much rust as you can if there is any. If the original paint you’re covering is in good condition, you don’t have to do much. With the new paints, like the one I used, they can adhere without roughing the undercoat, as long as it’s clean. Older paint with some years on it, especially in climates that fluctuate in temperature a lot, are likely to crack underneath your new coat if you don’t remove the original paint.

  • @alfredomarquez9777

    As a humble suggestion, I would use a circular wire brush on a hand drill or a variable speed Mototool (I happen to have a great METABO!!!), in that way you can wirebrush much faster and in a less tiresome way. Nevertheless, I've found that wirebrushing with power can produce a too-smooth metal surface, that could lack enough anchoring profile... Thus I go the sander way after wirebrushing, with coarse cloth backed abrasive sheet on my small 1/4 sheet palm sander, but you can also use a angle grinder with sanding attachment disc, or a Random Orbit Sander, or even a hand drill with a flap sandpaper drum, but try to scratch the surface just enough to create the roughness that will give a proper anchor profile, avoiding any polished areas where the primer or paint won't adhere firmly. Best wishes.

    • @BuskItBarn
      @BuskItBarn  2 года назад +3

      Thank you for the detailed and thoughtful feedback! These sound like some great methods that could help speed up the process. I’ll have to give them a try. I’m especially curious about the circular wire brush method, since a similar approach can work nicely when cleaning up a live edge wood slab.
      Thanks for sharing!

    is it a good idea to use a clear sealant after you paint?

    • @BuskItBarn
      @BuskItBarn  Год назад +2

      I think it would depend on the type of sealant. I use oil-based paints for outdoor furniture, so I suppose as long as it’s oil-based and designed to adhere to oil-based paint, it should work.

  • @clairehirano5889
    @clairehirano5889 2 года назад

    Would you use a clear coat to the paint after?

    • @BuskItBarn
      @BuskItBarn  2 года назад

      I suppose you could but I haven’t needed to. This paint seems to dry pretty hard, and with the primer as a base, it makes for a fairly thick finish. That said, a clear coat could only make it more durable, so no down side except a bit of extra work!
