Copped the purple OP1 8k because I love small mice and the OP1 8k was already my favourite mouse. People who like bigger mice can finally get a taste EGG's brilliance.
This might sound weird, but the reason I would say this mouse is better than the OP1 8k is the easily replaceable scroll encoder. The OP1 8k had a pretty good encoder with the TTC silver, but unless you have some decent soldering skills and a soldering iron, you won't be able to fix the broken scroll encoder if/when it does eventually break. If they keep that scroll assembly design and put this same tech in an ergo shape similar to the DAV3, that would be, for me, the best mouse ever made, but for now, the XM2 8k is the best. Another funny thing I've always thought is that 8k polling rate was not necessary to lower sensor input latency. 1k polling rate provides plenty of room to improve latency. Most of the latency is in the sensor, MCU and especially the firmware. I was wondering when someone was going to get latency down without depending on 8k polling to prop up latency numbers. The MCU used on this (if it's the same as the OP1 8k) is awesome for latency and the firmware must also be masterfully written. Thanks for the thorough review and the view of the internals!
don't even like the op1 shape but mained the op18k because the click and sensor were flawless, second mouse was lamzu alantis because of wireless xm1r shape since i hated the xm2we clicks. This is like my magnum opus, favourite shape of all time, favourite coating of all time and in my opinion the best sensor, happy days!
Liked and subscribed. Not just because of the great review, but because you're showing Apex gameplay at a high visual fidelity. Thank you. These things matter.
I just got this mouse and absolutely LOVE it! its like an adult sized version of the OP18k, which I still love too. 1 thing to note if you are considering this mouse, unlike the OP1 the XM2 does NOT have side lips around the edges of M1 and M2 buttons and you can definitely feel the right clicks rubbing against your ring finger if you use a common relaxed claw. Most mice are not like this nowadays, so it will take me some time to adapt a slightly new position for my ring finger to rest. OH, GET A FROST COATING version! I got the Dark Frost XM2 8k and it is something special I think most will love, very grippy calky feeling.
Mine comes in tomorrow. My main mouse is a XM2we so It'll be a nice upgrade. Wired mice have never bothered me and if I'm being honest I was pretty late to the wireless game anyways so I won't mind going back to a wired mouse. 8K and never having to worry about charging is awesome.
I would buy op18k (or now this xm2 8k) but 4k and 8k polling rate don't even work in the games I play. I played with the mm710 back in the day and have been on the search for a similar experience. Bought my first xm1r and then the wire had disconnecting issues. Then I bought a wireless mouse, the Lamzu Atlantis mini and loved the mouse but then the scroll wheel shit itself. Was considering the op1 8k but didn't want to deal with the wire having disconnecting issue or deal with getting the wire under my mouse (because of low sens and the constant arm moving). So I went back to researching again and discovered the Lamzu Maya X (47 grams). According to that one website, the shape is very very similar to the original favorite mouse of mine ever, the mm710. That coolermaster mouse was ahead of its time, 53 grams and perfect for aggressive claw grip. I was deciding to buy the last 8 mm710 in stock on amazon for the future ones they are permanently out of stock (you can get it for 25$ each). But I will give the Maya X a try if not, I'm going back to the one true king mouse CoolerMaster MM710.
@@jerrorr does it have sloped or flat sides? i cant deal with the baseplate being smaller than the top of the clicks anymore. thats why i swapped off of the sora

I've been on a one man train for years with the belief that the advertised 99.8% tracking accuracy (or whatever other number) that's advertised on the top sensors these days only applies to when the mouse is wired, and is actually slightly lower in wireless mode. I haven't seen anybody test this, and I'm not even sure if it's possible to do so accurately without some pretty incredible tools, but I feel like its a conversation worth having, cause I swear wireless has just always felt a few pixels off for me. Not like a latency issue or anything. Literally just that flicks feel a little "floaty" like they don't quite match up 1 to 1 in wired vs wireless. This also kinda segways into my theory that razer and logitech lock wired mode to 1k Hz because they already know that wired mode has near 100% accuracy, so it would be pointless to increase polling rate for the exact same tracking experience.
I have my OP18k but I prefer the XM2 shape that’s why I ordered it today and to keep it short it’s End game mouse but if ur a low sens player and using your arm a lot some times the cables ends up under ur mouse if you have a decent sens the cable is not a problem at all that’s why I ordered the Leathal gaming ultra thin cable to try it out
Do you happen to know which of the Kalih GX switches are used on the XM2 8k? Is it the same as the ones that come with the op1 8k (I think 55-60g) or the lightest one (50-55g). Since it's not hotswappable.

It's nice but it really seems like they can't make a wireless mouse. After the xm2w disaster it's been all down hill. They tried at the last minute to sub in the xm2we but it was a disappointment atleast in comparison to what the xm2w was billed to be. If you like wired though this is a solid mouse.
