Update #2: I like the 5909 enough and bought one (red). The battery is not replaceable so once the battery dies, this will just be wired headphones. Update #1: I bought the Sony WH-1000XM4 just to have something to compare to. ML 5909 definitely has better soundstage which makes it easier to hear all the individual instruments and vocals. Sound profile is more neutral, cleaner and there's just better clarity overall. Build quality is much better. Having said that the Sony is just 1/3 the price of ML.
It's the same amount of bass with all the modes: ANC, passive and transparency (voice pass). The bass is weaker relatively speaker compared to headphones that enhance bass. There's still a good amount of bass.
I need to replace my Android phone which has aged out. I'd like to consider an iphone this time around. I own both the focal Bathys and the ml #5909's. In your opinion, will I still enjoy great sound quality pairing them with an iphone that does not have ldac and aptx codecs? Your thoughts please.
I'm still using the ML5909 and it sounds great with the iPhone even with Apple's AAC. The app and music source is more important since these high end headphones will make audio quality sound like they sound
@@rodhier2516 These are high end headphone so it's easier to hear the difference between good vs bad audio quality. If you want the best enjoyment, of course you should use music apps that are able to stream high-resolution or lossless audio. There will be audiophiles out there that will recommend using the best codec, use lossless music apps. I personally am not too bothered by that. The thing is this is wireless headphone so there will be some loss in audio quality but these are also very high-end headphones so they can make even lower quality music sound good sometimes.
if you're talking about headphone jack quality, probably one of the LG phones with DAC. If you mean speakers, probably any flagship phones have decent speakers

how do they compare in anc terms? which one would you say is better?
@@sunsunsunh The ANC performance of both is quite similar. Both are very good.
@@teohyc thank you
Any issues with the ML5909 Headband? I heard it falls apart at the stitching. It may stop me buying. Thankyou
Mine still looks alright from Jul 2022. The stitching looks good to me.
8:50 is weaker bass with ANC off the same even with a good DAP or amp/dac?

@@teohyc Could you please explain what you mean about the app and music source being the most important? I'm kind of new to this.

The review embargo is over?
I wasn't told there was an embargo. Anyway, I purchased a Sony WH-1000XM4 so that I can compare that with the 5909. That video will appear soon.
