Theres something about German watches i really love, clean, very easily readable, but very sharp looking, Junghans, Nomos do this really well. Glad you are giving this brand some love! You actually see a fair number of the Mühle models in the German watch museum in Glashütte (I was there last Fall).
Useless, linguistic trivia: Ignoring the fact that we're talking names of a family/company and a city, here's how the words translate: "Mühle" = mill, as in windmill "Glashütte" = glassworks/glass factory "Glas" = glass (duh!) "Hütte" = literally hut or cabin. Also refers to the process of smelting a material like glass or iron or to the facility where said smelting is done. Greeting from Ze Fatherland and stay healthy, everyone!
This was helpful, I think I'm going to get my football player son for high school graduation, but I'm getting him the 44mm one. We accidentally discovered Glashutte last year. I took him with me on a business trip to Prague (from Seattle with limited watch shopping) and we drove with some of my co-workers to Dresden and saw a sign for a watch museum. I convinced them to check it out had no idea we would be driving passed Lange on the way to this place. Since then I've been looking for something at the right price point for a college bound kid that would always remind him of the adventure we had together and I think this is it.
that is such an insanely cool thing for a father to do. I wish I had a dad like that. Just know your son really appreciates you even if they may not say it as often.
I have 2 Mühle Glashütte watches in my collection: the 29er Zeigerdatum with a textile strap and the SAR Rescue-Timer with a rubber strap. I specially have enjoyed the SAR which is a great tool watch for everyday use, even for diving. It is austere, robust, comfortable and pleasing to look at. It is one of my watches I use the most.
Add this to my list of fliegers to agonize over. What a really handsome one. I love the hands and the text on the dial. The movement might be the thing to make me finally pull the trigger. Really cool hearing all that info on the company. Great video Teddy and lucky Will! ( his photos on IG are so so good)

Awesome brand! In Europe / Germany they're a bit more expensive than other competitors in this price range but they offer a lot of original watches like the S.A.R. Rescue Timer which is a very long running classic from Mühle. I also love the Seebataillon GMT which is a very sturdy great looking sports watch. They offer quite a lot for the money but it takes a closer look to appreciate them (as you also can see on the movement for example). Thanks for showing, Teddy! Great review as always. Love your razor sharp intros every time!
I have had this watch for the past 8 years. This has become my favorite of all the other watches in my collection. For some reason its easier to read it just tells time.
Thanks for the great recommendation Teddy! I used some miles and got this watch for a bargain price. It's an absolute gem and a great option for my first automatic watch! Keep up the great videos!
I bought my first Mühle Glashütte watch in 2004, one of the very few affordable mechanical watches then offering a blue dial with matching blue strap. The crown btw, features a mill in bas relief which is one of the small delights the brand has to offer. I had the watch serviced twice, that's it and it's still running perfectly. Prices have, however, risen steeply as the Glashütte name has really taken off since then in Germany.

I have this exact model. Love it, no nonsense. Very German (although with a Sellita movement). This model (I believe) was only available on Lufthansa flights - their regular Terrasport has the double dot over the triangle at 12 like regular aviators.
Looks like a very very good alternative to the IWC Spitfire (which is my favourite flieger watch out there). At this price point the Terrasport is a VERY compelling option.
This Lufthansa edition of the Terrasport is a whopping 25% cheaper than the regular one. And not only that, but it has the slim IWC Mark XI/XII style indicies which I much prefer to the thick ones found on the regular edition of the Terrasport and on most other fliegers (in fact it's probably better to get a Stowa than a regular Terrasport as you get the same design and more history for a bit less money). I hope this watch is still available in mid 2022 when I'll hopefully be able to buy it.
You can't go wrong with this watch. I bought it one year ago and I've worn it every day since then. Versatile, classy Flieger design and great accuracy. I also won't get tired of admiring this well decorated movement. There are not many other watches at the price of the Lufthansa edition that are so well made. Anyone interested in the brand - and I encourage you to be interested- should check out the SAR Rescue Timer. As Teddy mentioned, it was designed for Germany’s Search and Rescue fleet and is incredibly tough with a look you’ve never seen anywhere before. Every time I wear it, it gets comments - befitting what Muhle Glaschutte’s president said of it: It is the watch that best exemplifies the brand.
Stowa was the first thing that came in to mind of seeing this watch! This one will be one my watch list! Thanks Teddy for giving this watch some attention!
Great review and photography. I really like a lot about this but I wish it was 39mm, date window was at 6, not outlined, black date wheel with white numerals. Love that handset.
Didn't knew about this brand to be honest Teddy but i'm glad now i know thanks to you. Will definitely consider this when shopping for another German timepiece :)
Really awesome looking watch. Fit and finish Is what you expect from a German watch! Silly me...when I was going to Germany several times a year for 15 years I never pulled the trigger and picked up anything other than a Braun…I now have the Laco But it has Japanese movement...Should have saved up a little longer and gotten the real thing! I have several Lange & Söhne watches and I prefer the brand over any Swiss make. So always interested to lean about German horology and brands I haven’t yet heard of. This is a beautiful watch.
As for my first aviator watch my heart's really set on Stowa Klassik Flieger Baumaster but the watch in the video really comes close to what I want. Still a great watch!
Teddy, i think this is the Lunova Day......beautiful by the way. The movment and everything you mentioned is specs from the Lunova..cost 1.750 Euros app.
It is not the Lunova. It is the special Lufthansa Version of the Terrasport which can be bought in Lufthansa's Worldshop or on board Lufthansa flights.
Something about it reminds me of iwc spitfire(even more than other fliegers do) only classier. I think it's the fact that the 12, 3, 6, 9 is specially marked, which the spitfire does with color instead of thickness. Looks very cool and well priced.
I'm confused about the $700 - $900 cost mention. The Terrasport II (leather strap) retails in the US for $1699.00 as of 22Jan21 - only 9 months after the video post.
It's lovely seeing a watch, used and abused, filmed in this way. It makes me look forward to, rather than dread, having my own daily acquire that kind of wear.

Every time I wear it, it gets comments - befitting what Muhle Glaschutte’s president said of it: It is the watch that best exemplifies the brand.
Never met a German watch I didn't like. How does this hotrod Selita movement compare to the Damasko movement?
kinda same quality if it comes to movement. case wise damasko wins
Thanks for the great review as always!
I started watching your channel when you were under 20,000 subscribers… I see you’re gonna hit 200,000 very soon...Congratulations in advance! You’re my go to when it’s time to narrow down the choices and pick!
It would be nice if you included accuracy specs for the movemenet.
Wait til he gets a load of the Teutonia line...the Kleine Sekunde and Weltzeit models are fantastic.
This brand is new for me, but when i saw it i fell in love with it. It's looks clean and classic and just beautifull. You can wear it at any situation
I have several Lange & Söhne watches and I prefer the brand over any Swiss make. So always interested to lean about German horology and brands I haven’t yet heard of. This is a beautiful watch.
Another excellent choice for a daily. I have an Oris Aquis but this Mühle would be great for work. Thank you Teddy, awesome job.
Their reputation for build quality is renowned. I’m looking at the 29er chrono. Good vid T
As for my first aviator watch my heart's really set on Stowa Klassik Flieger Baumaster but the watch in the video really comes close to what I want. Still a great watch!
I also want to mention the way you pronounce the German watch brands is so hilarious, but I love it👍 ,keep going the great work!
Nice watch i brand new less then 800$ is a very good deal
Been looking to buy one from the brands for some time, but can't decide on which model yet. ☺️
There is a Muhler authorized dealer in my hometown and they make very solid, impressive watches indeed.
I'm confused about the $700 - $900 cost mention. The Terrasport II (leather strap) retails in the US for $1699.00 as of 22Jan21 - only 9 months after the video post.
This is the Lufthansa version of the Terrasport II. It costs significantly less than the regular version
what strap is the brown one?
It's lovely seeing a watch, used and abused, filmed in this way. It makes me look forward to, rather than dread, having my own daily acquire that kind of wear.
You hit "the nail with the hammer" with this video. I was commenting in one of the TGV videos it will be nice to do a video of Mühle Glashütte watches. Never got a response, I guess he is a busy man. Nice work again!
Union Glashütte is another brand you might want to check out.
Teddy check out Abeler & Söhnle and Bruno & Söhne Glashütte.
Abeler is a great alternative
To DW as Quarz watch. (And has some nicer higher priced as well) since 1898.
And Bruno is like a competitor of Tissot here in germany. Story goes back to 1957. Reopened 2000.
Also nice, Tutima !!! Very nice luxury company under the radar. Glashütte watchmaking on it's high level.
Super high end. Lang& Heine Dresden. Top notch watches. High end.
The Rest of german watches i saw on ur Chanel i Think.
Great fan! Greetings from the home of Sinn Frankfurt.
Mühle is our competitor of longines basically.
Nice video.
I really like what I've seen from Muhle Glashutte. It's become one of my grail watches.
Imagine buying a watch from the SkyMall catalog 😂
Thanks Teddy Im currently deciding between this watch reviewed and a Sinn 556 A as a Sinn owner I will check out Mühle Glashütte's Terrasport cheers
What a fun coïncidence, I have been aware of MG for a little while and was just this week looking at buying one on the grey market. Good info, thanks for the vid, Teddy.
