    In mud like that rocks are your friend. Rocks give you traction. But yeah, it's a chore in stuff like that.

    Hey Alex, I always wait to watch your vids until I can actually sit down and watch all of it. I especially love the music you choose, such awesome beats.

    Lol lol. Sorry couldn’t help it. We spent 4.5 days passing through Colorado last year on the TAT. It rained/ sleeted/ hailed on us the entire time every day. 70% of the roads in colorado are a clay sand mix and are slick as ever when wet. Don’t feel bad. Even us experienced riders put our bikes down on that stuff a bunch. Ride on the grass on the shoulder where able. It will help clean out the lugs in your tires.

      You bet. Ride safe. Wish I was out there with you. I’m probably going to do it again in a few years to celebrate my 65th birthday. Getting ready to do the MABDR in November. Then in the spring either the NEBDR or headed out west to do idaho BDR and Washington state BDR. There are several good bike shops in and around Sslr Lake city if you need anything looked at. Harrison European motorsports works on a multitude of bikes. They keep slots open for TAT riders. I had my bike serviced there and a new front tire put on. Great folks in southern part of Salt Lake City.

    Thank you another great video. Well I have to admit I think it will stick to backpacking and hiking. I don't think I would be able to deal with mud on a motorcycle. Our Mountain bike trails are technically closed after rain around here, because of clay type mud. It is considered bad form or style to ride them when they are muddy. It looks like the bolt or rivet gave way on your lift and the shaft bent. Maybe you can find a welder that can fix it. Yep, Thank you for taking us along on your adventure, because this is one I know I am not capable of doing.

    I'm exhausted just watching! Did that lift come with any kind of warranty? Maximum load lift capacity info? PITA that it is, I'd never try to lift my bike with packs on it. Besides once I'd dropped it I'd be so adrenalin rushed I'd need the reloading time to calm back down. LOL

      They didn’t list anything about a warranty on the website, I still need to email them to see what they’ll do! It is supposed to be able to lift up to 772 lbs. My bike is only 500 lbs and I took most of my gear off so I probably only had 40 pounds of gear on at that point but it still broke! Thanks for watching Diana!

    Did the pump actually break or did you just pop the 2a fuse in the 12v outlet? Normally you have to go direct to the battery with pumps because of that.

    Hi Alex, how do you find your campsites? Is there a fee? Also, I was thinking about buying one of those lifts but now I'm not sure. Do you think it was a fluke?

    • @AlexanderSeling
      @AlexanderSeling  2 года назад

      Hey Johnny! Out west there is plenty of public land and you can dispersed camp (for free) just about anywhere on public land. I use the Gaia App and set it to show public land on the map so I know where I am. There is some public land in the east too, especially in Appalachia, but sometimes I have to just find a spot where I think no one will see or bother me and I set up camp there. I’ve had to pay for a couple campgrounds but i try to avoid pay options whenever possible.

    Oh Alex ... if never seen a bike lift and im riding for over 35 years but i know one thing for sure , i dont like heavy bikes ... Imagine you had to lift 350 pounds and not 500 ++++ ...
