The story is heading to inojin waking up himawari giving him a hug inojin will get stronger and get his revenge or something close to that and team 10 vs matsuri
If Matsuri stays longer, it will come at the cost of Moegi which I think it's pointless since Matsuri is just experiencing Moegis feelings. And their hunger to consume people won't ever go away since that's what 10 tails does and if Boruto is going to have a story, they better not start diverging cos 10 tails could've easily been changed in Naruto if that were the case
