As interesting as your circuit bending and pedal videos are, I think this type of video where you just take an old, obscure toy or gadget and see what it can do without being torn apart are the coolest. Very dope.
YES! I saw this on the shelf at Target and instinctively started playing with it and was blown away by the fact that it had 4 voice polyphony and an octave shifter, but it was the vocal synthesis that really grabbed me, and I thought wow! Thankfully I have a toddler, and could justify the purchase…he loves it too but I know it will be sticking around long after he’s done with it!
My son has one of those! I play it more then he does...
this shorter format is very nice, makes things very digestible and fun to watch

lol immediately bought this for our kids at Xmas lol definitely for the kids is why we bought it. Funny enough was messing around with it when new born by muse came on so I figured it out real quick. Now whenever I hear new born I’ll think of this silly hippo piano haha

Those plastic tubes with blowing air are somewhat asking to be circuit bent (or tube bent?) to became organ pipes.

Why do so many people talk sh!t about stuff like this in music production? Well, it's a freaking hippo! 😂 Maybe apply a "Gibson" sticker to it to make people appreciate it?
The singing sounds are very cool and fun, I like them! I like the song too. And I was also surprised of how good the piano sample was!
Many people have sampled toy sounds even on hit songs. I hadn't noticed people have issues with that now - are they like forum people maybe?
It makes no sense and they are missing out, so it's their problem I guess... :)

To make a comment on yours regarding people that diss things like this; if you can make music with it, who gives a crap whether it's a $2000 instrument or a $20 children's toy. Someone who knows what they're doing can make anything sound good. Hell...The youtuber Sean Hogan makes songs out of sand...Or axolotl sounds...Or even Thyme leaves.
