Things were slow in January back then, but Angel was also a box-office hit. While not opening too well, apparently "the film managed to stay in the box office top ten for several months, becoming a sleeper hit and eventually earning $17,488,564. It was New World's highest grossing picture that year" (courtesy Wikipedia but this seems to be accurate). Remember it turned out 2 sequels for a reason! lol

Its corny cheesy but a cult classic..I like the lead girl better than betsy russell in the second one...
