I want to make a passive solar house as well...cut off the corporate greedy bums, water generator...just totally off grid hell yes. You are awesomeness incarnate and an inspiration to the rest of us.

      If you create long enough runs underground, the moisture will be dropped underground. Its a big issue for some poorly designed systems that do not get their drainage and slope correct. For every 1 degree you cool a volume of air. it loses 7% of its ability to contain its moisture load.

    • @fajile5109
      @fajile5109 4 месяца назад

      Create a “cold” area maybe some air pipe through a fridge. Based on what i was looking at cold removes moisture a little more efficiently then heat or buying desiccants. Desiccants are way easier and you can make your own from charcoal or corse then you need filters for char dust. Then you need blowers for pressure to push through filters. Look up “cold finger liquid nitrogen” i think something like that built at the base of a “chimney” will condensate moisture and allow the air to rise naturally as it warms. Connect that to some kind of insulated space and have that flow into your furnace. So something like a deep freezer in the basement connected to a chamber through a chimney the freezer is closed to the air pipe. The chimney goes into the attic its warmed with a few skylights into a enclosed attic space. At that point the air should be dry before it enters this space. Also you can place your UVc lights at the cold finger and where the water drips down from it.

    • @davefroman4700
      @davefroman4700 4 месяца назад

      @@fajile5109 Not big enough. It takes time for the air to cool down and the moisture to be condensed out of it. When you do it underground you are usually looking at 8 inch tubes 80m long, at less than 12cfm.
      A standard electric dehumidifier that you buy in a store, is nothing but a refrigerator that freezes the moisture out of the air, and then defrosts it into a drain. The whole idea is to NOT use all that energy and just have convection currents do the work.

    Bananas are looking great.
    You can either leave them on the plant and eat as you want. Or cut the bunch off ..hang it and then cut into hands ( like you see in the store)
    Either way you should cut the whole plant down and use it for mulch..chop and drop..and it feeds the keki (baby plants)
    A banana stock will only fruit once.

    Wall Street is cruel. Lost work every where, every time, and all the time.

    But I still want to try to grow. It is just too much for me to handle. I let it go.
    But I dig watching your endeavors. Well done, sir. Well done.
    Be careful. Try to hit the bed and not the ground. 😮
    You should place a soft wrap (for carpe tunnel) on that wrist. It will bother your neck. I know because I took a full flop on concrete stairs and passed out for a few minutes. Landed on the back and head.
    Yeah lumbar and cervical pains along with right side hip and leg ... all in pain. I have a good day when I lay on soft sofa on right side but not on bed on my back.

    • @ArkopiaYouTube
      @ArkopiaYouTube  8 месяцев назад +2

      It’s more about the shading factor than the glazing angle. Polycarbonate doesn’t have to be as perpendicular to the winter sun as glass. Mine is 45 degrees to shed snow, provide functional growing space along the front, and even ease of building. My solar panel array will be slightly more steeper than 45 degrees, to shed snow skiffs better and pick up my extremely low winter sun. 👍

    I like the idea of not sharing your plans and just doing it first. It's one thing to ask for an opinion or advice, but anymore those in the average public prefer to just tell you how it won't work or what you're doing wrong and it's usually not even coming from experience (often their expertise is from watching another YT video LOL). So many people don't even try to do something different because they get talked out of it or follow the advice of others and get something they're not happy with. I think people are losing their imagination, creativity and self confidence over the last decade or more (especially the young people). They're more apt to remake old movies and music and redesign older designs with maybe a little tweak here or there. Originality is still coming from those who are a bit older because they don't care so much what others think so they don't freeze out of fear of failing. We just go for it and keep at it until we get as close as we can to the results we're after.

    While you were moving all those tons of earth for the pond, did you ever wonder if maybe it might throw the planet out of balance 😂😅 ? Of course once it’s filled with water all will be sorta better ! To be serious, are you required to submit plans for out buildings or have them inspected in your locale ?

      No farm building permits in my municipality. One municipality closer to the city, yes. 1 or 2 further away from the city, you don’t even need one for a house I understand. 👍

      If I build a residence (not farm outbuildings), I have to pay for approval from those larping as my local authority in this particular jurisdiction. Every oppressor is different. Closer to a city there is less freedom and further from a city there are more, usually anyways. And every jurisdiction is different, so chose your oppressors wisely. ✌️

    I'm sure you know already but just in case you don't, goats are little Houdini's. We had goats and until we had 5 lines of electric ran, did they finally stop getting out. 🤦🏼‍♀️
    Our pigs were wonderful pigs. The boar was edgy at times but he was pretty calm. Someone had given us pigs and said the were kunkun.... they weren't, they were just fat and small😁 thats something too you might come across. People give us their animals. They know they'll be treated good so they give us their chickens, or pigs. Even a horse.
    Good job on everything and hate to hear ya got banged up. Falling always sucks.
    That does seem like how it goes, if ypu tell someone, it'll never seem to happen. Don't tell anyone and boom, it's already done

      This 47” field fence has been great for goats. Lots of people hat goats because they do like escaping. These kunekunes I paid a fair bit for, registered with papers. They pasture with the goats, and I really really like them, Plus the gestation on pigs works better for my climate. I should really do a video on those kunes 👍✌️

    • @Tracysbrokenwing
      @Tracysbrokenwing 8 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, we got given these ones. We didn't think they were real kunes.
      We don't live on flat land so animal fence wasn't gonna be a great idea for us. The electric fence did very good in keeping the cows n pigs in... hilly east ohio.. you don't have to answer back, I know you guys are bust but do you think you'll just do 1 batch a pigs a year up there or will you be able to get 2 in?

    • @ArkopiaYouTube
      @ArkopiaYouTube  8 месяцев назад +2

      The plan is for 2 batches of pigs a year. Early spring babies and late fall babies. Goats I can only do 1 batch on the spring.

      Heavy new regulations on natural supplements that will take out small producers and make it harder to get natural supplements. Google “natural supplement ban Canada” or something. ✌️

    If you 'don't know what you did to your wrist' whether you went to a Dr. or not, I hope you go to physio- therapy. With soft tissue injuries you can really mess your self up long term if not treated properly. The injury can compound itself over time with more manual labour. You sound like you are going to be working this hard when your 90!

    It works because they obey by the rules of filming, editing and BS stuff that makes them popular a feed the algorithm while providing very little to no good content all the while you do your thing, actual BUILD something and not just blabla, provide great content but only have 53k subscribers.
