I would really appreciate a compilation of Trump's heist failures (the games of each run that he lost). Seeing only his OP/winning runs makes my own failed attempts so much more frustrating. Please Jens, I beg you. My sanity needs you.
So I had a sort through the Dalaran Heist hero powers and it looks like most of them are pretty balanced around actual hero powers (although probably more under/overpowered based on the context of the format but whatever). The way I approach balance for hero powers is either: a) The hero power would be printed as a 0 mana card. See Moonfire vs Mage hero power, Wisp vs Paladin hero power (and Shaman HP plus RANDOMNESS), and Regenerate to Priest HP (I think priest HP is slightly underpowered but makes up for it by being versatile. Repeatability is a factor). Also compare Sinister strike to Hunter hero power, Light's justice to Rogue hero power, Iron Hide to Warrior hero power, Claw to Druid HP. b) The hero power would be printed as a 2 mana card that also draws a card (as this is what hero powers kind of are). You can compare Shiv to mage HP, Novice Engineer to Paladin HP, and compare (considering earlier comparisons) Renew to Priest HP, Shield Block to Warrior HP. There are slight differences for the warlock Hero powers, but for the most part those will be my baseline for hero power comparisons. Mage: Burning Wit - 1 mana reduce a random card's cost by 2. Difficult to evaluate but considering it's kind of like Innervate (0 mana) but RANDOM (so costs 1 less - randomness reduces cards cost by ~1/2 mana, see arcane missiles), this seems decently on point. Frostburn - 2 mana freeze a minion, or deal 2 to a frozen minion. Just Freezing potion is 0 mana, but it's also a really bad 0 mana card. A better comparison would be Ray of Frost, which has this exact effect but gets bumped up to 1 mana due to twinspell tax. Also seems ok. Shaman: Evolution - 2 mana evolve a minion by 1, AKA mutate. Refresh - 1 mana draw 1 overload 1. This is a little weird of a hero power to evaluate. Maybe could compare it to base Warlock HP, given that it's "2 mana" draw 1 with a down(?)side? But the delayed cost could also be an upside, though it does weaken your curve. This seems like a hard one to call, though it would obviously be broken in standard for the 1 mana draw with overload synergy. Hunter: Opportunist - 2 Mana give a minion +2 attack this turn. Closest comparison I could make would be to Dark Iron Dwarf. 4 mana 4/4 with a 0 mana effect seems about right for balance, especially for early hearthstone. Now vanilla stats with 0 mana effects seem to be the norm. Also demon hunter Chaos strike is somewhat similar, though your hero rather than a minion. Pet Training - 1 mana add a 1/1 shifting Chameleon to your hand (turns into random 1 cost minions.) This is another weird one, but one can compare it to First Day of School if we think of it as "add a random 1 cost minion to your hand". It's both better and worse than this effect as you only get the 1 cost minion on your next turn but you can wait for a good 1 cost minion. Alternatively 0 mana "summon" a 1 cost minion, which is about balanced though kind of bad for a card. Priest: Distort - 2 mana swap a minion's attack and health. Just Topsy Turvy Soothe - 1 mana give a minion -2 attack this turn. This is another weird one, but it's like a single target Pint Size potion, which is 1 mana. Alternatively Lazul's scheme after waiting 2 turns. Maybe a little underpowered? But it's hard to tell with 1 mana hero powers Rogue: Yoink! - 2 mana add a random card from another class to your hand. This is just the Pilfer effect, however Pilfer is 1 mana. This makes this one of the more powerful hero powers, however it is not very board impactful so that might be a concession to the format - high value vs AI fights make card draw less necessary, at least according to Trump. Cut-less - 2 mana deal 2 to an undamaged minion. Backstab Warrior: Invigorating brew - 2 mana deal 1 to a minion and give it +2 attack. Just Inner Rage. Undermine - 2 mana shuffle 2 explosives (deal 3 casts when drawn) into opponent's deck. Not sure how to rate explosives really, maybe could compare to hunter Hero power but REALLY delayed, or maybe to 1 Bomb from standard. Clockwork goblin is 3 mana 3/3 with bomb attached, so maybe 2 explosives is worth 0 mana? Unsure Druid: Lifebloom - 2 mana restore a minion to full health. This is Ancestral Healing without giving taunt, which isn't necessarily a downside. Seems ok. Touch of Bark - 2 mana give a minion +1/+1. Not sure for this balance, but it's definitely less than 1 mana. Probably ok if we consider something like Earthen Scales which bundles a +1/+1 with conditional armour gain for 1 mana. Warlock: I'm going to consider these hero powers differently. We have Pain Split - Deal 2 take 2 and The Pact - Summon a 2/2 take 2. I was at a loss for these until I realised I could compare these to the warlock hero power directly. Base warlock HP is draw 1 take 2, but the UPGRADED hero power is just draw 1. In other words the warlock hero power's upgrade is removing the damage. This implies the "deal 2" effect and "summon a 2/2" effect would be balanced as upgraded hero powers, by just removing the take 2 damage effect. And they are! Deal 2 is the upgraded mage hero power, and Summon a 2/2 is the same number of stats as the upgraded Paladin hero power, but less aggro and more resilient. Paladin: Backup - 2 Mana add 3 silver hand recruits to your hand. This effect is weird. It's the Drygulch Jailer deathrattle minus the initial 1/1 body. Is that worth 0 mana? It seems like it's worth more like 1 mana, though perhaps it's WORSE if it's repeatable due to hand size issues? Maybe similar to the refresh hero power from shaman, where it'd be broken in standard but in this format it's more balanced. Boon of Light - 2 mana give a minion divine shield. Potion of Heroism, this effect plus card draw. On the other hand, "hand of protection" has this effect on one mana, so it may be slightly strong. I hope some of you find this interesting, I enjoy considering hearthstone balance decisions. Obviously balance *on paper* vs actual balance is different, there's no guarantee any of these would be on par with standard hero powers, but it's an interesting exercise.
Another dalaran heist deck combo that I've found but it requires a bit of luck to get the right pieces: kriziki (priest) with the "visions" deck which starts with some deathrattle minions and the swap attack and health hero power. Combine this with deathrattle card gained through loot as well as emerald goggles and the quest that gives amara Warden of hope. (Play 7 deathrattle minions).
It can work, you just have to make sure you also build control so they eventually die. It requires a lot more patience and it has more variance, but I've also had success with it. I consider it much less good of course but also more fun. My favorite run involved Elixir of Vim + Vitality. Infinite Clockwork Goblins!
Awesome video, as always, thank you for all the work you do! Varian has an awesome theme, i love it. I used the same strategy with mage using the discount hero power, but my deck was full of big spells... and 20 Kalecgos XD (I also had a few copies of Conjurer's Calling XD)
I played hesit and got make all minions in your deck, that card. i used it on the boom reaver! also i minions that cost more then 5, will cost 5. also i played mage and could take 2 mana off random card. needless to say - that the sickest heist i ever played. winning so easy and so overpowerd! :D

After his death on the Broken Shore, Varian Wrynn became a virus, and like Agent Smith, decided to field an army of himself. "Behold the armies of Stormwind" indeed.
28:40 Trump misses lethal, first he should have just Supercollided the two minions and gone all face. 28:55 Trump misses the second lethal in the same turn, slam the Healbot into the 3/3 and Supercollider the remaining two and the rest go face.

Trump, do you think a card that made a spell your hero power would be broken? For example neutral 7 Mana 5/5 Battle cry the last spell you played is your hero power. So you could get like 4 Mana deal 6 and what not you know. Or maybe make it a class one. Idk how to balance it and I feel like this comment section probably has an opinion
For the glory of Stormwind! "echo (for the glory of stornwind) (for the glory of stornwind) (for the glory of stornwind) (for the glory of stornwind) (for the glory of stornwind) echo"
He missed lethal at 29:01 …. if he equipped supercollider and hit the minion on the very left it would of killed that and the azure drake, he then would trade his 3/3 into the enemies 3/3 and go face with the rest. it would be +7 damage from the 7/9 plus +5 damage from 5/4 and then rag hit to face for +8 damage. 7 + 5 + 8 = 20. which is exact lethal. he was only counting the 2 damage from supercollider if it hit face, not counting it to kill 2 minions guaranteeing rag hit face for +8. gosh what a noob ;).

I'm the only one to think that Mr Chu and Hanzo has same voice actor?
