my first storming week. took me like three pulls to get the hang of it as melee. it's really simple and chill as long as your tank knows what they are doing.
Good changes, although these nerfs will mostly help against getting trucked down in a short window, but it's not like I can suddenly facetank everything now without kiting. If they do like you said and bring down auto-attack damage from some mobs it should really help. And also, some more buffs/changes to Blood DK and Prot warrior are way overdue.
I'm a bit worried that they won't change anything else related to tank damage after this thinking they've fixed it, I did a 15 ToP last night and the Contender's Vicious Strike did only 10% of the damage I took from them, 90% was from melee. Hopefully they listen to what everyone is actually saying and nerf white hits instead of small abilities. Some changes like the Corroded Claws are very much welcome though

Honestly I feel like it's NEVER a good time to be a melee dps in shadowlands.. really just wants to make me quit playing at this point... everything is a giant middle finger to melee dps this time around. Hate it.
@threedoubleyou dotcom at the end of a dungeon i always look at my healing logs total. Melee almost always takes more damage than range. Range has it way easier. You can just sit back away from danger. And the most absurd example are the shards of halkias. Range can just sit away and take no damage there. Quaking and volcanic are your own fault if they hit you. They are simple mechanic. But melee gets close to mobs which is a chaos that can kill you at any moment. Tornadoes are far worse for melee than they are for range. And i know this because i have to heal both.
@@imadeyoureadthis1 One log, and that makes you see the overall? lol, because people are bad at dodging. atleast when you get pushed as melee, you can still dps, as a caster, getting interuppted arent funny aswell. Stop saying who has the worse. And also, there is even weak aura now for dungeon trash that calls out for bad stufff - Ive been fine on my WW monk so far, usually play boomkin/resto so.

There's more downtime as melee, there's more stuff to watch out for and especially for bosses. If it was as hard or harder for range than melee, people wouldn't prefer one over the other but now they do prefer reange. Sure it comes down to personal skill and knowledge, but objectively you're range and you get picked up more because dungeons favour you sitting in the back not getting hit.

We all just saw a team in the Arena World Championships use a Paladin tank as a primary healer and they made the Final 4 of the championships and took all 5 games to get eliminated by last year's champs. Can a mythic plus get away with running a pally tank as a healer along with a traditional tank? The damage and lockdown would be incredible or would they suffer too much from being a single target type healer? It probably isn't reasonable, but I thought it would be interesting if a grp really tried it.
Port paladin healed all dps groups in 18-20 keys in season 4 btw. Notably Zmok was playing prot paladin so it was possible last season not too sure right now
Simple fix, do a reverse survival hunter. Make melee into range classes, like dk picking ghouls and throwing them into enemies or enchantment shaman blowing air from afar at enemies or warrior picking range dps and throwing them at enemies.

(211 WW 1.195 rio) I guess my rio is a bit out of date now and ilvl is low for pugs so i should ve expected that, but the sad thing is with this coming week i will probably get declined not because of the numbers but also the spec itself. Gotta push my own key.
Dratnos, please, once every affix will have make a turn, make a video based on feedback of the the pain point of each dungeon. For example, sanguine depth this past week was horrible, especially for tank against necrotic in the end corridor. I'm still not sure on what to do.
I think these mobs were always meant to be kited or soothed, that is their mechanic. It's just that all the OTHER mobs need to be kited as well that is the bad part
10% off tyrannical is not shit 15% would of been more appropriate Echelon in HoA his shatter jump was one shotting me on my 214 shaman first one was DR’ed and the second one I had no defensive and losing a dps on a tyrannical boss that’s half health is a wipe for certain bosses they need to tune some of the boss mechanics dmg value on tyrannical
I'd really like the tank dif to be lower, ive mained warrior for like 12years not and the most anoying thing for me as a pugger is not getting into grps because of me being a warrior early in the expansion and with the kite meta atm im having a harder time playing my class atm.
I had to complain a bit to my guild and finally got 4 runs of M+14 or higher in a week as a fury warrior. Warriors will probably get invited again in 9.1 but it really sucks right now
@@boomerwow8482 Your guildies have a huge problem if they think fury is bad in M+, it's one of the melees that do the highest damage in m+ and it also has good utility...

After taking last week off for the affixes I don't even feel like going back into m+, even with the nerfs. Feels like when u stop smoking for a week, u break the addiction and ask yourself why tf am i doin this?
Yeah, the way Shadowlands has been progressing is becoming a tad absurd. The focus has been how well can the tank kite, their self-heal ability, and how much damage can the healers do...
Blizzards needs to remove those fucking melee only affixes. We melee have a hard enough time getting into content, since range are always more favored in raids anyways ( Except if speccs are overturned like dk and rogues atm)... But now with all these shit affixes, even in m+ Noone want melee, ranges only every damn lfg group in tool. Blizzard realy needs to remove those asap!!!! They have to see that this is bullshit and only the same few classes are wanted! Give melee more love in pve!

Did De Otha Side twice already today and it was a breeze on my Prot Pally.

@@jambothenerd8263 zmok recently timed a +17 on tyrannical week with necrotic while playing on his pally tank and they went for 4 dps.

Dps as healer is alot og fun.. Pure healing is boring!
