GRAMMY, CMA and ACM award winner Ashley McBryde cut her teeth playing country songs in biker bars - and it shows. The Grand Ole Opry member’s 2018 major label debut Girl Going Nowhere (Warner Music Nashville) charmed The New York Times, NPR, Rolling Stone, Paste, The Washington Post and more, all en route to landing a GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album. McBryde closed out 2019 with ACM New Female Artist, CMT Breakout Artist, a New Artist of the Year win at the 53rd Annual CMA Awards and two nominations for the 2020 GRAMMYs for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance for “Girl Goin’ Nowhere.” Her follow-up Never Will was tagged by Rolling Stone as one of the most anticipated of the year alongside NPR, who also ranked her Top 10 RIAA Platinum-Certified single “One Night Standards” as one of the best songs of 2019. The album earned McBryde a 2021 GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album, making Never Will the only album nominated for Country Album of the Year by the ACMs, CMAs and the Recording Academy in the same award season. Her GRAMMY-winning duet with Carly Pearce, “Never Wanted To Be That Girl,” went all the way to No. 1 and earned McBryde and Pearce the ACM and CMA award for Musical Event of the Year. McBryde was also honored with the 2022 CMA International Artist Achievement Award for the most significant creative growth, development and promotion of the country music industry outside of the United States. Her collaborative project Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville featuring Brothers Osborne, Brandy Clark, Pillbox Patti, Caylee Hammack, Aaron Raitiere and Benjy Davis earned McBryde her third consecutive GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album, making her a six-time GRAMMY nominee. The project earned McBryde her second consecutive nomination for CMA Album of the Year, along with Music Video of the Year for “Light On In The Kitchen” from her latest critically acclaimed album, The Devil I Know.

I've been seen in lots of places I've never been. I hope I remember it more if I get back there again.
Y'all can never ever, ever stop these videos!!! The honesty and openess and passion that comes through these videos is inspiring!!!!!!!
Ash, your voice penetrates on a cellular level, God’s gift 💯!!!
God bless you and your beautiful band❤🎉amen 🙏🏻
My favorite part of watching this journey has always been the song writing process.
As a songwriter, I've always been fascinated in the professional writing process. Especially from my favorite artists. I wish I had folks or friends to write with, but I've had the bad songs, I've had some epic ones (in my mind). Just love this, love the team, love Ash. LONG LIVE COUNTRY MUSIC.
Im always lookin to see if others' process relates to mine. I'm 53, but i've learned to let it flow without being too self judgemental. I remind myself these stories are for me.....knowing the world won't hear them. Im just a vessel. When you don't have writer friends to bounce ideas off of, you have to debate with yourself. Lol
The creativity behind songs has always intrigued me. Love this episode and Quinn did an excellent job conveying the process.❤️
We really appreciate your music 🎶 🎵 ❤️ Ashley sweetheart ❤️
Amen. Thank you for allowing us to join you and your wonderful band mates. This is a bad ass video. It explains everything what you have to go through every day and I absolutely love this. Thank you for teaching me and showing me this people think you just bring it up and pull it out and it’s a home run but they don’t understand all the hard work you guys have to do to get to that home run. God bless you Ashley we love you.
This!!!! This is what I have been dying to see!!! Thank you! WOW.. TO BE IN THAT ROOM
Oh hell yes, Ashley. Just saw you on CBS Sunday Morning. Very spot-on. I'm a nobody who's been obsessed with singing and songwriting ever since The Beatles showed up in 1964, when I was 13. I do much better sober, too, just like you. Don't miss it one bit anymore. I look forward to waking up feeling good. I finally hit enough walls to realize that the biggest gift in this extremely challenging life that we all live, is to take it on like you were born to: sober. Thanks for your inspiration. ~Grant Brad Gerver
Love these!
This video is a very unique sharing about a process that almost defies explanation. And by the way Ashley, you are a national treasure. You are so real, it's a little scary....❤
Love this series thanks Ashley McBryde! 😊
Fabulous authentic episode that embodies this team!
LOVE the Dayna t-shirt! 😂😂😂
The ending of this is the motivation. Thank you Ashley & the guys ❤
I saw you in Ionia this summer and it was a huge bucket list experience of mine!! It was an incredible time and girl you are destined for stardom!!! It’s your time for female vocalist of the year!!!!!
Thank you Ashley for being such an amazing woman of God and sharing your gifts with us God bless you and your team and your family keep shining girl
Awesome episode once again!!! Absolutely loved it. Please, please hurry up releasing "It ain't easy", it sounds incredible. 🔥🔥💖
Thank you for sharing! Looking forward to the next episode!
Really interesting subject matter. It’s such a subjective and personal thing to create and write, and you’re doing it for yourself and for strangers. As somebody who draws for a living, I draw for myself and for strangers too.
I could watch this forever. You all are so immensely talented and I love that you not only share your finished product with the world but you are brave enough to show us how you got there. Thank you!
Great episode again from all of you, can't wait for the new album to drop, and now "It Ain't Easy", plus the one about your grandad/dad, keep them coming guys, so much talent ❤
I used to always write and record the backing then do the lyrics. For a time I wrote lyrics/poetry and then edited them to fit the chords. Haven't written in years, though got back to recording from being cooped up when Covid broke, but it's short instrumentals to sell to people for RUclips videos and such.
Love seeing this side of the process! That will be one helluva song… keep going girl… the sky’s the limit!!
Love!!
So where do we get that Dayna merchandise 😂 kiddin’ !
I have learned a lot in this video for my own songwriting journey. Thank you Ashley and all your band mates for sharing these gems and your process.
You guys be safe on your UK Tour in January !! You will knock their socks off!!! But hurry back The USA will miss you!
Mrs. Ashley, when you sang I lost track of the day it is I got chillbumps, I love your voice my beautiful 😍 love ❤️ 11:56
Wonderful episode. First I have to ask, is Chris wearing a Dayna shirt??? One of the things I love most about Ashley is the depth of emotion in her voice. It speaks to me and takes me places I need to go. Then there are the stories woven into song. So moving. Thanks again, Quinn, for making these episodes.
It ain't easy making it look easy..
Bc it ain't easy being me
I've seen my name in lights
And I've broke up bar room fights I made my home out on the road
Fancy bus and fancy clothes my song on the radio
Is what y'a now see
But take it back some years ago
Just me in a pickup truck that smelled like smoke
Chasing dreams is today's reality
It ain't easy making it look easy cuz it ain't easy being me.. your awesome Ashley and I'm sure it's not as easy as people think but we sure appreciate you doing it!!!
Awesome👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Love your stories turned into song! Laughed at the "wrote down in the bar" and it was "garbage." I don't write songs; I write novels. Used to keep a pen and pad next to the bed because that seemed to be when GREAT ideas were generated. Next morning be like, "witch riding elephants with boat." Uhm...what?? What????
Absolutely love your music. I'm nowhere near a songwriter but my situation has one thought that keeps sticking that I would love for you to consider for a song. I'm terminally ill which I've made peace with but the thought of "leaving you behind" keeps popping in my mind in regards to my husband, children and grandson. Maybe some day that thought will strike you with inspiration. Best wishes for everything you do.
I love Chris's shirt...
🤘🏻🔥🔥🤘🏻
Wait! Are you saying the events portrayed in 'Brenda put your bra on' may not have happened as sung? Say it isn't so! I love Brenda and how she handled the situation! 🤣 One of my favorite songs true or not!
Lots of places I've never seen, from New Hampshire down to New Orleans...
I've been lost places I don't ever wanna see
Hi Quinn❤
Hello beautiful ❤🎉
I come up with pretty interesting riffs, and bass parts. but I just do not know how to make anything out of it. Help?!/!??!??!
