“Every song either already exists in my head or comes out, as if by magic, during a directionless improv session.” Mektoub, meaning “destiny” in Arabic, reflects the swirls and eddies of life itself - its ups and downs and arounds, its beautiful love stories, breakups, and the everyday spiritual quests that almost go unnoticed. Adassiya’s own Oriental origins and extensive travels also leave their marks on the release: “Each country, each city, each culture has its own singular sound, beat, rhythm. And then you meet people along the way that have the power to inspire! These all add up to my composition.” Melodic trumpets, flamenco-style guitar, autobiographical lyrics, and electronic beats constitute an E.P. that’s sometimes bewitching, sometimes joyful, and always heartfelt.
Mektoub features P.rivas and also includes a remix by Jean Claude Ades.

Voy persiguiendo la luna
por la orilla del río,
he pintado las velas de blanco,
Aunque el cielo es sombrío.
En la parte final del track hacia el minuto 4:40 , es literalmente inaudible, difícil de comprender incluso para un español como yo, ya qué en esa parte final y desenlace de la canción el cantaor improvisa ( algo bastante característico de flamenco) pues canta apasionadamente desde el corazón, con las emociones que en ese momento le emanan. El flamenco es pasión, y yo tengo la piel erizada ante ésta obra de arte, que he escuchado en la sesión de Keinemusik, en Exit 2023. Voy tan sólo por la mitad de su actuación y en este tema me han caido las lágrimas de emoción. Creo que es el mejor set que jamas haya escuchado. Qué increíble es lo que la música nos hace sentir, y que gran suerte poder percibirla asi❤
