    My boat is exactly the same as yours. BUT I DID MINE DIFFERENT, What I did was get a 2" x 1/8" steel strip which molded to the inside bend and bolted it with a locking nut on the inside I measured down 3/4". I then welded with a wire welder the same type of metal brace from one side to the other in 3 different places. i then got some aluminum tubing and leveled to the top of the braces and attached them to the welded braces with small bolts and locking washers. That made it really strong. I then set the 1/8' decking down into place inside of the boat rim. This way you have no rough, sharp edges that i could possibly get cut on. I then riveted across the tubing the flat sheet decking. This made it very strong. I then put my trolling motor on and drillied out my bolt holes going thru the aluminum tubing underneath. I removed the trolling motor and then I laid carpet down with carpet glue and it set still inside of the outside boat rim. I put a aluminum angle strip down on the front long side of the metal to again hide the metal rough edge over the carpet. I got the carpet and strip from lowes . I then placed my trolling motor on the deck and with a screwdriver poked a hole coming from underneath thru the braces and trolling motor and then bolted it down. Mine is a 46lb thrust tiller handle Minn Kota trolling motor. Down below my new deck. I have a separate battery to operate the trolling motor. I built a box that just covers the battery and I use that as a platform to put my feet. 2x10" by 38" and I can charge the battery from the bow area and still have ample storage for an anchor and a couple of life jackets or a styrofoam cooler and never have to worry about the lid blowing off or direct sun on it. Would love to send pictures to you.

      Yeah I would love to see what your mounting solution looks like feel free to send your pictures. I don't think I can replicate what you did though I don't know how to weld/don't have the skills you do .

      @rickwilson2848 - I’d love to see how you installed your mounting deck as well.

    Thanks for the video, very helpful; I'm working on doing the same thing on my 16 foot Lund.

      It’s not hard to do. Didn’t take me long having a bow mount trolling motor has been a game changer for me. If you have the funds it’s worth it!

    Hey, great job. Question: what did you do with the bow navigation light? I am doing a similar install and am trying to find a raised light so it mounts aft of the motor mount, but still remains visible from ahead of the boat.

    Pretty straight forward and it helps to see how you did it. It is my turn and I stumbled upon 3/16 local or I would help you out. Mind if I ask how the Powerdrive is treating you?

      The powerdrive works great I haven’t had any issues and having the spot lock gps is a game changer ! Definitely buy local if you can it will be cheaper. I couldn’t find anywhere locally that sold the kind of aluminum I needed.

    Hey, which size bow kit did you buy, the standard or the xl?

    • @FishOclock89
      @FishOclock89  7 месяцев назад +1

      standard. I think the XL just comes with a larger sheet of aluminum. the standard is also a fairly large sheet, not sure why you would need the XL maybe if your bow is really wide? best of luck to you on your project and thanks for watching.
