There is a button on the right that is close to the powerup where you can activate autostart.
Why is my gamepass auto fight in defenders depot 1 not working?
I'm not an expert of DD1 but if I were to guess, It would either be because it isn't toggled or maybe you just have to rejoin. If you are having further troubles with the gamepasses, I would recommend joining the game dev's discord server so you could get more assistance.

what are "items" to upgrade my legendary towers?
What they mean by item is basically the SAME rebirth item. So if I were to upgrade a Force of Nature, it would request for 1x Item, which would mean that I need 1 more Force of Nature.

Unfortunately, as of now, there is no way to remove the Blockades

The nexus is immovable. It can only move when rebirthing and its random.

Due to the addition of blockades into the game, i don't think there is a "best layout" in the game anymore.

I do play on public sometimes but there are time where i prefer the privacy that the VIP servers grant.
I got 9k from a gold crate and I got 11k from a normal one 💀💀💀😭😭😭
The saving grace of dd2... Normal crates for some reason
I dont see anyncrates
They usually spawn every couple of minutes. Though it is possible that the crates have also been picked up by other players in the server
