- Happy New Year!!! We celebrate by parading through the earthbag shop. The guys lift the roof off the toolshed in order to build the block walls higher and still have a cover for the tools! We continue rocking around the base of the hyperadobe building. The Rocket Stove inside the earth bag kitchen gets a modification and fresh paint! New Years Eve we will be live-streaming puzzles - men vs women! This year the puzzles are collages of the MyLittleHomestead artwork. We will be giving the puzzles away. 7:21 This is how we found your amazing family....we googled searched...how to build a rocket stove... we live in Texas so we do not "really" need one but each winter seems to be getting colder and we wanted to TRY it ....well, sadly we never built one...we still have it on the "list" ...we have remodeled sooooo many rooms and accomplished building a LARGE pizza oven.... all from your inspiration
....oh and cement work TONS of it 🤣😂🤣 we have poured sidewalks from the barn to the house, alllll around the house, from the house to the outdoor hot and cold water shower and from the house to the tiny house.... a section at a time. HARD work but worth ... the outdoor shower and the tiny house was built from inspiration from u guys toooo 🥰
My Dad was rock mason and brick layer. He told me once when I wanted to build rock piers to hold treated wood posts that when you meet a wood structure with masonry that if you wrap the place where the two materials with a little fiberglass insulation it can keep it from cracking with temperature changes. The fiberglass insulation allows for expansion and contraction differences of the two materials. Seeing the wood header go in the masonry made me remember that. My Dad lived his whole life in the desert where as you know can have some extreme temperatures changes.

Puzzle! I had a sister in law that gave me puzzles each holiday. It was a challenge. We tried to find the worst possible puzzles for each other. Like a single needle in a haystack. Or masses of blooms (all the same flowers over and over and over.)
I actually like this parade of industrial floats! Quite a PUZZLE to figure out what is coming up next!

O how I enjoy watching all you guys it's always interesting. I am working on a 1,000 piece Christmas scene puzzle, I enjoy working puzzles although it takes me a lot longer than it used to as my eyes are being affected by diabetes. PUZZLE! This was a really fun episode, with the parade theme. Thanks for sharing. How difficult was it to modify the rocket stove to be front-feeding? Were there any other modifications you had to make, inside the stove, or was it as simple as cutting the new opening? Looking forward to seeing all you accomplish in the new year! 5 gallon buckets with lids on are GREAT improvised seats when working in the garden or on other outside projects and they are light weight when having to move around. and you can stick stuff in them when moving....multi purpose buckets.
