Why depreciation and amortization not taken in that example. My main doubt arises there. Is operating profit derived after deducting depreciation and amortization also? Or depreciation and amortization should be deducted while calculating net profit only??

Dep/Amo comes under operating expenses only so it will get deducted from gross profit to get operating profit (or EBIT).
