Strap yourselves in, guys. You are in for the ride of your life. She has flown under the radar of most folks until now on purpose. Her family decided early on that she would have as normal a childhood as possible, so they purportedly refused offers from some heavyweights in the industry. You're going to find out that there are LOTS of videos of her performing in summer concerts and at charity events as well as even more of her simply singing into a camera at home. Anyway, she is 17 now and graduating this year. She signed with Republic Records when she was 14, and it has been reported that one of the conditions was that they NOT promote her until she finished school. Well, we are on the doorstep of that event now. She is not only an incredible musical prodigy but a golden soul as well. Accurately stated. AJ is a prodigy. A genuine phenom. Any singers you’ve known in the past whom many thought were prodigies, but simply impressed because they were young, eg; Shirley Temple, Judy Garland, Brenda Lee or Michael Jackson etc, none come close to this level. Not at 7-9 yrs of age. None of them.
But this young girl has reset the bar at a level so high… I just don’t see any other person at that age past or present come close. The blonde girl, Evancho or however her name his spelled , she is an operatic singer and very good. But not like this. And the crazy thing is, how AJ takes great songs from great singers like Billie, Nora, Adele and even Whitney, and makes their songs sound fresh and original and unique.
Anyway, you detailed everything so much better than I ever could.
I just think she’s the best ever and I’m 70 years old. I shouldn’t feel this way … and that’s the spell AJ has put on all of us.
She is a timing machine. She is out of this world.
She plays piano/keyboard, guitar, violin and flute, has written several song, and was the youngest person in Norway to publish a book at age 9.
WHen she (age 7) was on Norway's got talent, one of the judges remarked: she must have been drinking whiskey since she was 2 years old. Same reaction you had.
Think about this performance in light of Norwegian as her first language, English as her second language, and Farsi as her third...at the age of 9. Angelina is incredible.

There were 4 vignettes that relate directly to her life. The bare feet she will always perform bare footed because of a street girl who had scales and was guessing peoples weight to earn money long story somebody will write better, she promised as a remembarence of this girl to always perform that way. It also serves as a reminder to to the rest of us that there are many people who have no shoes or even have the choice to wear their shoes or not. She even wrote a children's book, around this time of this video, that was illustrated by her grandma Mery Zamani who was a child prodigy in painting and poetry growing up in Iran. The second scene she is making changes to the score at the last minute. Angelina not only picks the songs she will sing, but she also arranges them how she wants them to be played. While singing is her main gift she has become a first class arranger. She started learning composition and theory at around 5-6 years old. And she is definitely in charge, the musicians who played with her gave her the nickname 'The Boss' at around 6. Angelina is not just a great singer she is a musician. She hears a song, likes it, sings it for awhile and the ideas start to come. When she decides how she wants the song to go that is it and she will not be deterred in her singing it her way.
The third scene is of her partner in crime, grandma Mery who started introducing Angelina to Jazz and eventually Billie Holiday. Who was a major influence to desire to sing. (Oh, an add-on to the shoe story, that I feel is interesting. The shoes that Angelina gave the girl were her !!!favorite!!! pair of boots. I do not know what favorite means, or meant to you when 6 years old. But I can tell you if they were my favorite anything, she would still be bare foot. When I was 5-6 years old the things that meant everything to me were the clothes I wore, usually the same thing 3-4 days in a row with Mom stealing them at night to wash them. For which I still nurture a grudge though she has been gone almost 20 years.)
The final scene was her candle with the picture of the original artist and writer of this song, Screamin' Jay Hawkins. A muscical genius whose music struck a cord with Angelina and here it is.
She has done this little vignette thing a couple of times they're not just cutesy things, they tell an important part of her life to that point. So until the next time.

Nice first reaction! Oh boy, you are going to be bombarded by her fans called Angels that will fill you in on this music prodigy with an old soul from Norway. She's basically been a star since she was 7 years old. First and foremost, she is a jazz singer but has the ability to sing any genre. She also does all of her own musical arrangements. Her early influences are Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, and Etta James to name a few. Her love of jazz came from her grandmother playing jazz music around her when she was young. In 2014, she entered and won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8. With her new found fame, she used it to appear on many shows from abroad and help raise millions for the less fortunate children around the world. At age 13, she was invited to participate on America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2020. She shocked the audience and the judges with her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. She received a standing ovation from all and got the Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum to go straight to the Finals. Her performance went viral and even the group Queen responded on Twitter by saying, " Wow, what a rendition!" Not only that, but she received the copyrights for her version of this song from Queen, which makes it hers now. She did not win, but her fan base grew and expanded her popularity.
Now 17 years old, living in Los Angeles, and is signed with Republic Records, whose clients include Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, and Drake to name a few. Her family and Republic Records have agreed not to heavily promote her just yet so she can live as normal of a life as possible and finish her schooling. She is working on a new album of original music which will be coming out this year. She recently returned back to Norway and performed at a number of sold out concerts in which fans from around the world came to see her. Many of the fans there said she sounded better live in person and was a once in a lifetime experience.
Her fans call her The Barefoot Princess. She always performs with no shoes when she sings in front of an audience. Why? The reason is very special. When she was 6 years old, she was traveling with her family in Iran where she met a shoeless homeless girl in the streets that was about her age. She made money by weighing people. After speaking with her for a few minutes, Angelina noticed the scars on the girl's feet and asked the girl what her dream is. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor but she couldn't because she had to make money for her family. Angelina did what came natural to her, she gave the little girl her shoes and told her to not give up on her dreams. The girl then asked Angelina what her dreams were, Angelina answered that she wanted to be a superstar, and the girl said she would pray for her success. Since then, Angelina has performed barefoot in honor of that little girl and to those who are less fortunate around the world. She keeps this promise to this day. Yes. She’s 17 now and has signed with Republic Records. She will be putting out a new album this year. She was 8 years old when she won Norway’s Got Talent. At the age of six, she did four studio recordings, my favorite one was “I, who have nothing “. She also wrote a book titled “Between Two Hearts” in which she explains why she performs barefoot. The book is illustrated her grandmother. Besides her singing, she is the youngest published author in Norway.
She began singing at 1-1/2...she was raised on Jazz by her grandmother...playing for her all the standards...Ella, Diana, Gershwin, Billie Holiday, Louis, etc. You should check her national debut on Norway's Got Talent, with English subtitles. She is Norwegian...but speaks several languages. Japanese, English, I'd imagine French or Italian. She plays several instruments and writes all her arrangements including this one. It's her Homage to the original artist Screaming Jay Hawkins. You saw his picture she held up on that candle. She sings barefoot every time she sings as a protest to shoeless children. And that's a whole study in itself. She gave her shoes to a shoeless girl she memet in the Mid East and has raised over $10 Million so far. Check her live guitar only seasons. I think that is one of the best pieces of music ever recorded. Angelina’s voice is sensational! I mean, who else sings like that? She is my favorite singers of all time. Anyways, for the record, she’s just as incredible now. Just a little older. She is even more beautiful… still has an unbelievably stunning voice. Still has a huge following of amazing fans that all love the heck out of her. Check out her version of “Fly Me To The Moon,” when you get a chance. The that she sung in a yellow dress while rehearsing with an orchestra. That’s one of my all-time favorites, (as if it’s possible to have one). Just turn up the volume, and listen to her voice. It’s as close to perfection as I’ve ever heard; and yet, she made it seam so effortless. Let me know what you think. I do always wonder if other folks like that one as much as I do. ☮️

Our tiny little girl with the grownup voice was 17 on Jan. 10, 23 and is now 6'1" tall and could be a super model, but I hope the major portion of her career will be dedicated to her music and taking the world to a better place. I don't think she even realizes this power she holds over us and the need to hear that signature voice to fill that empty void within all of us. Angelina Jordan is in fact the "Benchmark" for all other vocalist to try as they might to achieve. I have a number of pictures of celebrities whose height is known, for example, Austin Butler, who played Elvis, is 6ft tall, and AJ published a picture of her standing next to him, she was at least 1 inch taller than him, and she had to look down at him.

The reason you May have not heard of her is because her parents are very protective Of her childhood. After she won NGT, they did not want her to be thrust into stardom before she had a chance to grow up as a normal child, and get her education. They allowed her to do a few select shows(Mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that came in. Over the year’s since NGT, they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even Disney.

That was so fun to watch. You've heard the big singers from the last century, and Angelina carries all of them with her. She's been listening to music since she was born, and in particular jazz. She's one of those humans that can absorb a song and pass it on, with her own taste and flavor, to us. What is really crazy is that she has a voice and a wonderful heart to match her unique understanding of music. We're so lucky to be here for it :)
And yes, now at 17 years of age she has grown musically and physically into a superstar.

At three she tells her Mother she wants to sing on that Simon show, which she does at thirteen.
Enters school at four taking normal classes and then enrolls in after school program taking music, piano, violin and flute.
At five starts studying music theory, learning to deconstruct and rearranging songs.
At five is speaking three languages, Norwegian, Persian and English.
At five tells her Mother she wants to sing at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert, which she does at eight.
At five try’s to audition for Norway’s Got Talent, but is told she must be seven.
At six she enters sound booth for the first time and records four songs, Rolling In The Deep, Hurt, Sky Fall, and most notably I Who Have Nothing.
At six she is speaking and reading English fluently.

Mother is trying to slow her down but she wants more.

Many listeners have indicated that she is no now as the girl with 1000 voices because she manages to change your voice for each song. as you explore RUclips because she has almost 200 separate covers you’ll find that she will definitely keep amazing you. My recommendation before you go to her more frequent renditions listen to her version of “feeling good“ she was only 10 years old and it will blow your mind. Pay particular attention to the ending of this song.

Why does Angelina sing barefooted? Angelina Jordan is known as "The Barefoot Princess" or "The Barefoot Princess of Jazz," amongst many other names. She always performs barefooted, whether in front of a live audience or during a studio performance. The story is that while living in the Middle East, at 6 years old, Angelina came across an orphaned girl, of her own age, sitting in the street, weighing people on a bathroom scale to earn money. Angelina said to herself, "I would like to share her life for one second to know what it is like to sit alone, wet, and damp, and barefoot in a corner of the street." Angelina could see the girl's bare feet were scarred and that it was cold outside, so she offered her own shoes to the girl. Little Angelina says that she really loved her shoes, as they were very nice and she knew she would miss them. But she saw the other little girl’s need for them, which outweighed her own desire to keep them. So she insisted the little girl take them.
Angelina called her Princess, even though the girl said she didn't live in a castle, but the ruins of a building next to where she sat. After sharing their hopes and dreams, the little girl said of Angelina's wish to sing for the world, "You will become the one you dream of and when your dreams come true, you have to remember the poor children without shoes; and I will pray for you Angelina.” Later that day, 6 y/o Angelina wrote in her diary, "The world is very strange. Right then and there, I felt as if a door in my heart opened up, and it was filled with lots of lights. It was as if there was, from Earth to Heaven, a staircase. I climbed the stairs. To be able to do something for another human - it was such a big thing…hard to describe really.”
From that point on, Angelina takes off her shoes, in honor of ‘Princess’ and all the other less fortunate children of the world, who are orphaned, hungry, or in want of even basic clothing. In 2015, at the age of 9, Angelina wrote a book about the encounter, as everyone continued to ask why she sang barefoot. Her grandmother, Mery Zamani, created the artwork for the book. So at 9, Angelina Jordan became the youngest published author in Norway. Angelina has performed alongside many other artists, raising attention and helping to raise over 21 million euros and millions of dollars for children in need.

She was only 9 years old when she performed this song. It is her tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, an American singer/songwriter. He wrote and performed it in 1956 and Angelina based her performance on the original, although she did make some subtle alterations to both lyrics and melody. As you continue your journey of discovering Angelina, you will come to realise that she does her own arrangements of most of the cover songs she sings. The differences may not be immediately discernible on first listening to them, but they are there. There may be a subtle change in tempo or tone, or more inflexion on some words, or a phrase may differ in pitch from the original. The amount of control that Angelina has over her voice cannot be measured. She never hurries a song. She sings in such a way that the emotions in the lyrics are felt by the listener. Ok, let’s GO! I’ve been watching Angelina for almost 4 years and my addiction has me checking out her reaction videos twice a day, every day. I’ll let my fellow “Angels” fill you in on all of her background. Love to watch you see her progress each year from 1&1/2 to now at 17. Skip around if you choose, but don’t miss all of her NGT shows age 7~8, her live concerts 8~ 11, Guitar after dinner at home at 12, AGT age 13, Republic Records introductions at 14, and now at 17 preforming for 300 million live on TV at the FIFA soccer awards show last month in Paris. At 6’ tall she towers over every other singer man, woman or whatever as a singer, song writer, arranger - genius.

This angel is the total package. She is beautiful, she overflows with talent, and she is intelligent, plus she is a humanitarian. Angelina is about to blow the music industry to pieces. Most singers just wish they could sing compared to Angelina, and I have heard many really good singers in many genres. But none of them come close to matching the ability of this artist when she is doing her masterpieces. I am glad you have been introduced to this Rembrandt of the music world.
Hello you TWO, Angelina Jordan (AJ) was discovered by her mom, singing into a microphone at age 1,5. Angelina found Jazz and Soul at age 2 and decided to practice singing for 36 hours a week at age 3. When age 4 she entered the academy of music and performing arts for technical advise, late she did the same in LA, where she resides since 2019.
She auditioned for Norway Gots Talent at age 7 and half a year later won the competition as the youngest ever. She was ennobled as the Treasure of Norway by King and Country in late summer 2014 at age 8. Vocal experts (I´m talking of opera singers and professional Vocal educators) see in her the next GOAT of Jazz and Soul.
Today, in 2023 she celebrated her 17th birthday on January 10th. She still is a humble person, well behaved with immens patience for others.
When 8 years old she participated in Berlin in a TV show "Ein Herz fuer Kinder" (a heart for the children) and gathered withother stars 21 MILLION Deutsch Mark. In the time from 2014 to 2020 she helped gathering and donating money for child charity and eco causes (singing at charities) about 30 MILLION USD. She also helps the community of homeless people in LA with food and maybe sometimes, like her beloved japanese grandfather, a job.

Angelina is a Norwegian born child prodigy in music. She's a singer/ songwriter who's arranged over 180 covers and 5 originals, all since the age of 7. Angelina began singing at 18 months old. At 2, she began teaching herself how to sing, focusing primarily on the jazz masters of decades gone by. These are artists such as Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and Etta James. She's also influenced by Amy Winehouse, Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston, and Adele, to name a few. She's also been said to be the girl of 1,000 voices. Yet even though we can hear the phrasing and style she puts in the songs, it's always Angelina that we hear.
At 7 years old, she auditioned for Norway's Got Talent. She was the last to audition. The judges had no idea who she was or what she could do. They saw a diminutive mussy haired, barefooted girl with her teeth still growing in. For her audition, she performed "Gloomy Sunday" from Billie Holiday. On TV-2, they've reported over 14 million views of this performance. This does not take into account the many hundreds of reactors showing this audition to millions more.
Needless to say, Angelina went on to win the 2014 season of NGT shortly after her 8th birthday. The family was bombarded with requests for performances, interviews, and record label offers. They turned down 90% of the requests, as they insisted that Angelina should enjoy a normal childhood.
That didn't stop Angelina from performing at select engagements around the world, singing for Heads of State, and even Barack Obama. She's spent time and worked with musicians such as Quincy Jones and Alan Walker. She first appeared on American television, The View, at 8 years old.
Angelina auditioned for America's Got Talent The Champions at 13 years old. She made it just up to the final selection of the final 5 when she dropped from the competition. It wasn't that she wasn't good enough to be in the final 5, but it was because she refused to sign with an AGT affiliated label, should she win. She knew very well what production hungry labels could do to her music. She even turned down Disney.
At 14, Angelina signed with Republic Records. Republic gave her complete artistic control as well as control over the performances she would make. She turned 17 on January 10, 2023, and will graduate from high school after the spring semester. From then on, she will embark on her full-time professional career. She's been working closely with Republic on her first album under their label. It's likely that it will drop shortly after her graduation.
