And the thing is that height is something you can measure easily. That's why a woman will only talk about height when she is talking about body's aesthetic. But the truth is, when a woman says she wants a tall guy, she also imagines him with perfect body proportions : should/waist ration, long legs/ short torso ratio, good muscles but not too much, just enough with good muscle insertions for a great V taper.
If there is a 5'9 (1m75) 9/10 man with perfect body proportions, mass, V-taper, glutes next to a 6'5 man with the exact same face but an average body, even good looking but not near as perfect as the 5'9 man, great chances are the woman will chose the 5'9 guy. Even from a biological standpoint, the probability of having perfect proportions are very rare and attractive, like the perfect hourglass shape in a woman that men crave

the height thing is only in the U.S. the interviews I've seen from other countries they girls clearly favor face over height and in some countries like Japan the average ideal height for a man girls say is like 5'7. And in my own experience in Mexico you do see a lot of 6 feet + guys not being preferred at all, over 5'7 handsome guys or not even handsome, sometimes just a masculine personality is all it takes to beat the the tall guys. I really think the height preference in the u's has to do with basketball as the national sport, as girls since very young in school, see the tall guys as more capable because they're good at the sport, and that only makes the tall guys more confident and able to have better personalities too. but even then I'm sure a handsome face and a masculine capable personality is instinctively much more attractive to women than a heigh is.
I’m a woman and I’m 5’6 which is pretty tall for a girl but would actually be considered below average for a guy. And personally I’d go out with a guy shorter than me or taller then me. It might cut you off from taller women (a minority, anyway), but everything around your height and shorter is in your range, even the 10s. I AGREE with you always, but honestly personality really does matter a TON to women and their gaze, so it's not useless. Also eventually the smarter women may realize they will NEVER get or marry a chad due to how rare they are and how competitive it is to get a chad, so they will eventually "settle" with a decent enough dude with a great personality. I think there's a 'sweet spot' so to speak. The better your face the more willing a woman is to compromise on height to some extent. Needless to say once you get too short it is over.
