in the *literal* sense, yes. I saw this movie more than 12 years ago, but one of the memories that stayed with me into adulthood was the scene where he makes it to the top of the beacon and opens the safety hatch.
the *_ENTIRE MOVIE_* had this red, dystopian, hellish look to it and there was barely anything well-lit or colorful; to actually see the sunshine and blue sky for the first time was really cool, it's like living your whole life in a cave and discovering an exit + seeing for the first time.
This is actually one of my favorite movie
To be honest the most intense scene in Igor is when Igor , Brain, and Scamper nearly get killed in the bad place the Recycling ♻ Center which has a red hellish color to it and was used to execute many innocent hunchbacked Igors male and female, even children just for being creative and open minded, yikes! I am so glad and relieved that king malbert gets his well deserved end by Brain and Scamper and Igor and Eva Shit down the recycling process for Goodness sakes, thus the other igors can finally be whoever they want to be .
fun fact: this movie is closer to the book frankenstein than pretty much all frankestein movies before: in the book frankenstein is a perfectionist who ends his medical study after he creates his monster because he messes up the eye color. eva has no scars in her face and igor isnt a scientist.
He may not be a scientist but Igor outshines all the scientists of his homeland in spades when it comes to intelligence
He actually wanted to be a scientist but later becomes to new king of malaria while he still uses his scientific genius to help his people
The movie deserved better

I love this movie it has both a bit horror but still comedic moments like hotel transylvania and the Adam's family and monster house.

It was actually an incinerator jeez and in real life some people would have dead corpses recycled .

This movies underrated
This may have been the second film I saw at the cinema.
Fun fact igor is similar and looks like quasimodo from the hunchback of notre dame given to them both born with hunchback and are both harshly imprisoned and abused by their masters both face near death experiences involving fire and they are both meanly insulted for thier appearances and they are both very creative but prove themselves as true noble and big hearted heroes.

Life is pretty cruel towards hunchbacks
This scene where Igor, Brain and Scamper nearly die in the underground recycling♻ dungeon is very intense and unnerving/unsettling just like how Quasimodo, Esmeralda and Phoebus nearly die in the fire pit.
@@conntoons_4848there is good news though at the end of the film Igor becomes the new king of Malaria and Eva is the new queen while scamper and Brain are the new prince's wland they forbid any evil actions in their kingdom, while also allowing all the other Igors be treated with respect and cared for as the now live their loves free of abuse while also having the recycling center renovated and would later be used to dedtiry all the old evil contraptions made by the other scientists, the people of malaria fisnly learn to get along with the igors and their new ruler.

The evil king malbert had deliberately killed many innocent igors in the recycling center making the main character and the other 9 igors the last of their kind. Plus he is responsible for igor having no parents since he killed them.
