For a singer, he approached first Terry Reid, who declined, & Steve Marriott, for whom other people 'declined' on his behalf. He was advised to see a new young singer in the Midlands of England, called Robert Plant. He was in a band, which also featured one of the best drummers around, called John Bonham, and they basically came as a package.
