    So do they sterilize needles ?

    • @wmeadjr
      @wmeadjr Месяц назад +2

      The needles don't get re-used. Once you fire it, you will need new cartridge next time, which is kindy pricey.

    *_Question about the taser: Once used, how do you put it back to it's original set-up? Like do you pull back the wires or something? And how many times can you use it?_*

    • @MadlyInquisitive
      @MadlyInquisitive  11 месяцев назад +9

      Sadly they don't reload. You gotta change the cartridge after use. Some of them do come with two or three cartridges though. Hope it helps.

    What if the victim touches the wire things

    • @MikeTrieu
      @MikeTrieu Месяц назад +1

      Nothing really. The wires are covered in lightweight plastic insulation. Only dangerous connectors are the electrodes at the end of the handle and the probe darts' aluminum body and steel barbs. If the victim still has use of their arms, they could easily grab the wires and use them to yank out the wires connected to the barbs. The wires aren't connected mechanically well to the them and tend to slip right out. I just disassembled a damaged cartridge. Some interesting engineering went into designing these things.

    Why is the one called a stun gun not gun shaped

    *_Another question: For example I'm held hostage by a bag guy and he's like in direct physical contact with me. When the Cops tase the bad guy (maybe a clear shot from the back), I'll also be electrocuted, right?_*

      Haha..Great question..never though about it but i guess considering how the electricity works it will probably shock you too..Intensity might be lower coz its distributed.

    • @dhans9662
      @dhans9662 7 месяцев назад +1

      Assuming it does, they'd be stunned out of physically contacting you in about a second anyway

    • @MikeTrieu
      @MikeTrieu Месяц назад +1

      No, you won't. Tasers are high-voltage, low-current devices. If the barbed probes are embedded subcutaneously in your assailant as intended, the electrical pulses would take the path of least resistance and only propagate beneath their skin and quickly dissipate before they reach your body. Even if the barbs don't embed in the target's body, the plasma arc from the tip of the probe will likely only cause extremely localized pain compliance effects on the target, but no muscle incapacitation for anyone.

    So the barbs of a taser penetrate the skin, right? Makes me wonder if a taser could spread blood born pathogens between people if they're not cleaned effectively? Is that a thing that's possible with them? I never thought about that before untill this video. Makes ya wonder.

    • @jorgesuarez9907

      The ammunition for a taser must be replaced each time, so there will not be reused into another person. They can penetrate and cause bleeding yet this bleeding (usually) won't be a big one because it'll hit areas away from arteries and veins.
      Let's say that scenario does happen, the pathogen needs to enter the bloodstream of another person to cause and infection, the probs won't be reused but became a potential threat, well OSHA guidelines indicated that any equipament that enter in contact with blood need to be handled and dispossed properlly, so any Police officer (or user) shall be safe as longs as they follow the proper procedures (use globes to touch the probes, throw them in a container for biohazard material...)
      There are risk, but they are low and can be minimized, nurses amd medical staff have higher risk in handling needles and other biohazar materials
