He’s the “setup coach”. My thing is, if Milwaukee wants a 2008 repeat, where you have stars and just need to get them over the hump, Doc isn’t that guy anymore and will be the scapegoat for spending money on Dame’s “untradeable” contract.     JJ got paid $23 million in one season by Philly. JJ’s skillset was in demand. Doc recruited him to join the Clippers. He had other suitors.

    JJ was a premier 3pt shooter when he was in the league, him & kyle korver were 2 guys you absolutely did not want to start catching fire cuz they will light you up all night long.
    The Clippers traded a rookie for JJ, that wasn’t giving him a chance that was them securing a key piece for their team.

    Doc Rivers was actually the first coach to make him a full time starter. Then four seasons later he started in Philly

      JJ lasted 15 years in the league and averaged 13, 2, & 2. Regardless of what Doc did for him, JJ had a successful career, expodentially more successful than 90% of NBA players.
      Doc needs to be called out. He has underachieved everywhere he has coached.
