A transfer switch is an electrical switch that switches a load between two sources. An Automatic Transfer Switch is often installed where a backup generator or inverter is located, so that the generator / inverter may provide temporary electrical power if the utility source fails. Failing to put a transfer switch between the generator and inverter can cause great harm to the lines men or death
