@kimberlysevastyanenko3798 in part from the raptor rehabilitation center I visited where they had a Hawk who had been found as a chick by a young boy that decided to try to raise the chick himself and fed it only chicken meat. The Hawk grew up deformed and was never able to fly and they kept the bird and trained it and kept it as healthy as possible, and it was used for demonstrations and educational purposes to discourage people from doing this. I have also known people who are licensed falconers. I work with animals, and I know that the muscle meat does not contain all the nutrients that a bird would get if they ate a whole animal, like a rodent, reptile, insect, or bird. The organs, entrails, skin, and bones contain a lot of nutrients that are not found in muscle meat. Omnivores like us can eat only muscle meat because we get our nutrients like vitamin C and others from eating plants. Carnivores get those same nutrients from eating things like the stomach and stomach contents of the animals they eat, and by eating the organs, brains, skin, and chewing on or eating the bones. Animal nutrition is not a common knowledge topic, but the information is easy to find if you look for it, or go to school for it like I did.
@kimberlysevastyanenko3798 From falconers, raptor/wildlife rehabilitation experts, and a lifetime of education, work, and lifestyle that revolves around caring for a large variety of animals. (I put a longer reply explaining carnivore nutrition but it didn't stick when I replied, apparently.)

no nice job. the parents had it handled. they’re going to make the birds content with being taken care of instead of caring for themselves. you only interfere when necessary, this is just humans trying to insert themselves for their own pleasure, and not what is in the best interest for the animal. doing a good job would be letting the birds handle themselves
All animals above a certain level of intelligence recognize kindness to a degree. Some are so hardened by survival, they fear you or fear missing the opportunity of a meal. 😮💀🤷🏾♂️ Be careful with wild animals, even though they may mean no malice. They must above all else, protect themselves, and they rightfully won't trust you.
Funny how humans have an instinctual urge to feed and care for animals while animals in dire situations instinctually come to humans for help, whether it be for food, shelter or other issues. Hmm... Is "instinctual" a word? Well, whatever. You know what I mean. Haha!😂
In a way, animals such as these beautiful Kestrels "show their appreciation" by returning, looking for a repeat of the original kindness & safety; just like we all pretty much know these parent birds will do to raise another family &/or their offspring may also do. In the animal world, it's on par w/ sitting down & writing a heartfelt "thank you card" to a person. Especially in today's world of "no effort" e-mail & texting......
Isn't it rare to have 6 eggs actually hatch? Thanks for the homeowners for helping them out. We need more people like this to help our wonderful wildlife survive!
I feel like birds are one of the hardest animals to gain the trust of. So when a wild bird comes up to you or tolerates your existence next to them and not flee is a great feeling. But when wild birds actively want to be around you and even let’s you touch them it’s an amazing experience. 😊
Man this would make my year. My kids always laugh at me because I have a squirrel that visits everyday..but that has turned into seeing a BlueJay everyday.
This was not helping, this was interference and ignorance. The fledglings were healthy without any help. Chicken muscle meat is not a healthy diet for them and can cause rickets. Feeding the babies directly instead of leaving it outside the nest for the parents to feed to them was also bad, as these babies have now learned as one of their earliest lessons that humans provide food. This is a good way for them to starve to death or be killed when they are perceived as attacking a human when they grow up. Leave baby wild animals to be raised by their parents. Look, don't touch. And if you see an animal that may be injured or ill and needs help, call an expert at your local wildlife rehabilitation refuge.
That was beyond cool. How privileged was that family to have something this amazing right outside their window. Thank you for helping and sharing this story. You are so lucky. I envy you.
