Super glad the 2 of you met!! JR is a wonderful interview. I have learned so much from him. I have fall blooms all over my 2 varieties.

I can't wait for part 2! I have 6 apple varieties so far, may get more and try this guy's technique. I saw one video where they stripped all of the leaves off to mimic losing them in the fall.

I live just outside of Gainesville too. I will be moving in the next year or two. I will be starting over again too. Who ever buys my current property will get a place with lots of fruit trees...

That seedling grafted onto a mature fruiting tree is what Luther Burbank used to do for the same reasons -- to trial the fruit without waiting 7-10 years for it to mature on its own roots. R

Hello to everyone who watches this video and Part 2! Most of our apples that grew this season were decimated by bitter rot, which is a fungal disease that gets activated during periods of high heat and high humidity. The apples develop a spot on the surface, which continues to grow in concentric rings until it dents the apples and they have to be pulled from the tree way before they're ready. I understand that most of our trees were out of apples at this time, so there might be some online Thomases that need to see to believe! LOL To show that many of my trees already had fruit on them, I recorded a video earlier this year showing all the varieties that developed fruit before the disease took over. Here's the link to that video: ruclips.net/video/P-G7QymgJqM/видео.htmlsi=Ta8GoVJaeFSTYUJ5
