19:48 Iruma isn't shonen Jump, its a in a different magazine and publisher. Also Blue Lock isn't Jump either, it was originally Shonen Sunday, then moved to Busastsu, where AOT was. Also, alongside Kagurabachi, Ichi the Witch (from the author of Iruma) is looking to be the next new pillar with it.
My personal prediction is that the next big three would be Sakamoto Days, Gachiakuta, and Kagurabachi. Although Sakamoto Days being included would depend on the anime adaptation.
The video is kind of doomer-ish and old, but it's understandable. We have more manga in Weekly Shonen Jump now apart from Kagurabachi (though that is one of the next pillars regardless), Madan no Ichi is looking very promising from the artist of Act Age (writer of Act Age is the bad one) as well as Aka's new fantasy series, yes the same Aka from Oshi no Ko and Kaguya-sama is serializing a new fantasy manga in Weekly Shonen Jump starting in Spring.
Ruri Dragon was quite the nice slice of life manga, about a girl that woke up one day to find out about her dragon heritage, when she found her horns growing out, and questioned her mother to find out she had been in a relationship with an actual dragon. But the mangaka's poor health blocked it from the weekly.
One piece didn't get big in the West due to 4kids dub and in fairness Oda's art style being off-putting to a lot of people. I also think One piece starting to get more attention now is due to all the other shows ending, and usually not ending well.
Yes,one piece just recently boom in the U.S. but in asia and few European countries (especially in france) it's already gained popularity not just japan.
One piece is recently getting popular like ive seen advertisments for the card game at my local comic store but I think one piece ain't gonna be around for much longer.I assume there are around 2-3 arcs after elbaf and ive heard nonbody talk about it like when people were yapping about egghead or wano.
@yaqinmalul6467 I'm considering the ideal scenario in which these bs didn't happen. Plus netflix jail doesn't work for Japan. A manga can explode in Japan even if it's locked in Netflix jail.
I just dont see this new gen having lasting impact. Dragonball maintained its fanbase from 1997 to 2013 (end of Z and GT to Battle of Gods) and was still talked about the whole time. Same goes for Naruto from 2016 to this day (not including Boruto). One Piece will have the same effect long after its ending. JJK has dropped off massively since its finished and i dont think it will be talked about much after the anime is done. AoT is hardly talked about now at all and i dont think MHA will be able to hold up to how Naruto has. New gen just doesnt have the staying power like the classics have.

I'm still convinced World Trigger could have been on the level of One Piece if the artist could keep up with a weekly release.

yeah,4kids dub destroy popularity in western audience at that time..first art style a bit offputting then 4kids dub kill the story..

Sakamoto Days could've been the savior of Shonen Jump if it got a top tier adaptation
