In this lesson, Adam will help you break free from the 'Root Position Prison'. If you find yourself playing all your chords the same way - this is the video for you!
Adam will reveal why listening to @MorfMusic at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival completely changed the way he plays the piano and will guide you step-by-step on how you can unlock your inner guitarist by crafting chord sequences where the harmony flows smoothly from one chord to the next.

Worship guitarist here learning piano keys. Thanks for all these tutorials! Picking up a lot!
Glad you like them!
Thank you so much! Your videos are just what I needed . You are amazing please keep the videos coming. It's like you're painting a picture with your music. It's beautiful!
You are so welcome!
Thank you I’ve been looking for something like this as I’ve been trained classically and want to change things up 🙂
You're so welcome!
As a guitarist I would say he is probably playing in an open tuning which him his key chord by just strumming unfretted strings. This facilitates smooth changes with one or two fingers. This of course just underlines the point of the lesson. Great stuff!
You are surely the very Best!!!!!
Merci beaucoup pour tes tutoriels que j'apprécie énormément. Que DIEU te bénisse
Please keep it coming as I pointed out in another video of yours! Your channel is really one of the top 3 for me...And it is on its way to being the best:)! As to further videos, here are a few I can think of: 1. Applying different rhythms in piano 2. Applying chord extensions - examples with 9th, 11th, 13th chords etc 3. How to play melodies by ear - starting with accompaniment, enriching it with chord extensions on top and finally the melody. Starting with a chord chart only and nothing else (no leadsheets).
Thanks! So glad you’re enjoying the content!
Thanks this is so helpful bro
No problem 👍
This was so helpful !!!!!
Ah I’m so glad! 👍
These are really cool vids.
Looking forward to more of them. (c:
Thanks Jake!
🤗I KNOW this @MorfMusic guitar guy. I heard him on vacation in scotland a few years ago. I even bought a cd from him, a great musician. 😀Thank you so much for this new piano lesson.🙏 This is a very valuable channel.👍
He’s amazing! Such an incredible musician. Glad you’re enjoying the videos!

Beautiful. Just continue with your approach which is very useful and yes, more videos for rhytm and how to use it with chords in different genres of music are preferable for me
Thanks! More to come!
Absolutely agree 😊
Nice chords!
Thanks!
Si tu as un lien pour tes cours payant, je serai parmi les premiers à acheter
Danke!
Thank you!
Great video! Can you please do a tutorial on exercises that would help add rhythm to the chords like you did in minite 5:52 of this video?
Great idea! Thanks!
It sounds really similar to some Chrostian music keyboard part,
if you play it slower then it would probably become it.
may you could make such lessons in C major. this would be easier to unterstand for beginners. thank you
Awesome video, awesome lesson, awesome that you draw inspiration from other awesome musicians! Definitely curious to what other musical ideas you're going to make videos on :)
Edit: some things I would love to get a deeper understanding of is line clichés, and accompanying styles for your own solos or for other people soloing
Thanks so much Gareth! Thats a good idea! 💡 Thanks!
👍🏾
He's using a pedal in the right hand.
Wouldn't it be a good idea of using that idea with chromatic mediants?
Yes Adam.. really nice!! That's what I'm doing in this song.. right hand plays 1 & 5 all the way through. Makes it FOLK ruclips.net/video/bvx7poy-yXw/видео.html
Awesome! Will check it out!
