DeadlyComics woaahhhhh nice! Imma check it out. You animations are so great!

I like to believe that all of your animations are from the same universe where humanity somehow was cursed and thousands of different natural disasters caused chaos around the world, exterminating them and leaving evolved animals to survive in what’s left. This one is from a part of the world where a portion of reality collapsed and all humans were drawn in, leaving a couple strange creatures, one of which was insane and the other two were his servants. The MILLENIUM HOUR animation is from a part of the world where humans were wiped out by a blizzard, and a dog is left to try and make his little corner of the world a bit better. Oh, and birds.

The boss makes you do all these things but eventually there's one thing you just won't do, something you won't compromise on, and that's when you quit.
Oh I kinda understand it as an metaphor for really oppressive moments that deeply effect you? The velvet stage opens in the beginning to introduce it as a story. then we are presented with the dinosaur being the employee to the cat in a grounded reality. The boss represents some enigmatic power that you dont quite understand whats their doing/saying. also, the TV is seen as something he revers or is worshiping that you dont also quite understand. Lunch Break is this desired place then suddenly dissipates. An image of misunderstood power then places the dinosaur in a tumultuous period for literally unknown reasons. the bird comes along and is introduced as something the dinosaur has never seen before. this bird travels with you, becomes a true companion, and the dinosaur loves as an entity for traveling beside the dinosar. final part comes and the dinosaur cannot give up the bird for the lunch place. In that moment the Dinosaur found that the bird and the relationship she had she values more than the lunch place, and takes her to a more amazing lunch place that they share together. the curtain closes, the dinosuar and bird stand infront of the curtain to say the play is over and we the actors remains, and we told you a relatable story that might help you through the times that are like this. But you will survive.
yeah pretty good.
Johnathan Martinez Although that's a good interpretation, the original comment is a lot more specific and the short quite grounded in its basis. I think it's simply having to move on from what's taking control over you due to neither party being willing to compromise, which makes perfect sense represented by an employee and their boss.
@@strionic770 hmm I had no idea that original comment existed. I guess at risk of sounding like an art snob and an asshole, i think that deadlycomic's animations tries to convey some really profound messages, and that is what I got from this one.
I respect the message the original comment makes, and I relate to wanting to yell at your boss, but for me the situation is apart of a larger issue some people face in life.

I think this is the perfect way to describe not only the stories of their animations, but the animations style itself.
The weirdest thing about all of this is that all throughout it, the cat has a completely normal voice with completely normal sayings. Nothing he says depicts him as a weird creature. It was all the visuals of his activity.
Ain't that life.
I think every characters have normal voices to add a sense of realism. Despite they are cartoon characters, they sounded like real people, as we are just getting closer to reality.

this literally captures what it's like working fast food for me at least.
You don't get a lunch break. It's always too damn busy and every time you ask for one you're given an okay but the manager always has three more tasks he pulled out of his ass for you to do and then later on "Oh come on it's the last part."
It's almost the end of your shift. You can work another two hours without food. Why do you need a break anyway?
If it wasn't managers being up my ass about it it's the leering eyes of the staff judgmentally looking at me like I'm weak because I want my federally required osha lunch break.
oh wait this is a will to work state, so that doesn't apply.
Yep, I’ve been there. And then you’re forced to work so much overtime because of the shit manager not scheduling everybody correctly or people just not showing up. I was pulling 12-14 hour days with no food unless one of my kinda managers would give me something under the table and give me 10 minutes to chow down. God forbid I even went to the bathroom either. And I had a second job too, and my shit manager kept trying to make me late to the other job or call off sick because they “needed me more” whereas I blatantly denied them shit and went to work my better job. She even tried to get me to call in sick so that I could attend a Christmas party she wanted the employees to do and tried to make it mandatory. I basically told her fuck you, went to my good job, ate delicious homemade Mexican food, and attended their Christmas party instead. I hated my Burger King job -w-“

It's been a while since I've watched this, but I watch this every so often for some unexplainable reason, and I feel I should finally comment something.
As someone struggling through depression, this video kind of makes me feel something Everytime I watch it, like I've been able to grasp something in my life but I don't know what it is.
Everytime I watch this video I notice something else, and I know the more time goes on and the more times I watch it I will continue to notice something new in the video.
It's bizzare. In my life the more I notice how I can improve it, the more I notice how taxing it can be on my mental state and how hard it will be to actually get around to doing it, but this video kind of shows that eventually, you'll reach an end, and whether or not you noticed everything won't matter, because eventually you'll be unable to look back.
I want to thank the people that was needed to make this video, and I only wish I could listen to it's soundtrack when I feel like mellowing out. If the songs are out there, I don't know where they could be. Either way, this comment will mean little to those reading it, and probably like garbled mess to most but.
That's kind of my life right now.

I feel like this is a metaphor for being overworked. The dino (I’ll just call em a Dino) was about to go on break, before being given more tasks by her boss. When she was asked to hand over her bird, however, she persisted to keep it. I think the bird m i g h t represent the Dino’s lunch break. The boss was constantly making Dino and birb work through Dino’s lunch break, before possibly trying to take her break away altogether, aka her birb.
Yes, young Dino, you are right. We do all go through this kind of thing at one point. The important part is finding out where to draw the line and just take a break.
Well, yeah, but the theater at the end is empty.
I think part of that is because of the literal aspect of it that no one gets swept away into a tv and all that other crazy stuff. Then the more subtle aspect that spooper dooper is talking about. Which is that it’s about drawing a line and knowing when to take a break and the theatre is empty cause no one really does draw a line in the sand
The dinos name is sibbie
Yeah I was getting that vibe too.
Not everything needs a meaning for example: us

thta's rough, buddy
Ooh..
Bet that drink was out of this world
The meaning I get from this is that the bird is happiness, lunch is reward, and the cat is the idea of success and progress. You deserve rewards, you don't need to keep doing more and more for no break or reward, happiness will unlock your freedom.
Yeah i kinda got the same feeling
I don't know for sure what happened but I love it
It's like a weird horror movie
The horrors of the blue collar overworked XD
I don't even think the animator knew what was happening.
Odly trippy
Basically that cat tried to over work her because she didn't know any better but once the boss of hers said that he would take away her bird possibly meaning her lunch or life in its whole because he saw her as a easily controlled employe but she revoked her right to go and have a break once in a while once showing him she wouldn't just let that go and thus he let her be and when he had said that "aw come on now its the last part!" It was basically a lure to keep her working
Or at least thats what i think

Dinosaur: You know what? Everyone goes through this at some point of their lives, you know what I'm saying?
Me: *maximum confusion*
@David Huff maybe but the message had to do some with TV's
@David Huff almost In every scene there was a tv and near the end he had a TV control
@David Huff and his "friend" had a bunch of TV's
@David Huff also at the beginning, people are cheering and clapping like their getting ready for a show
I think its giving up everything you've worked for just to protect your valuable friendship with somebody
I love how the things on the list that the cat has are what they actually end up doing. I only got the first one and the last four things on the list, but they did each thing in order. "Paint things" is the first thing on the list, , and the last four things are "find yourselves" (the maze), "fix the curious machine", "deliver them" (the tvs), "deliver them some more" and dominoes. I just found that cool
I just spent some time trying to read the list, and I couldn't work out the complete sentence about riding on top of the car, but the others are "conquer the cross-word room" and "slide down the place" which are not in order after all.
You made me feel emotions that probably don’t exist.

I like how the town called "lunch" overlooks a cliff that goes into the ocean, like the one in cool times. And it's all abandoned and run down, like what seems to be the case in millennium hour. The birb is also the same as in Millennium Hour. First off, I believe this has some perfect blue vibes.
Now, I'm not good at theories...
But i think she is an actress that started small but ended having a good popularity (and thus money) so her boss (the white cat) exploited her into making more stuff and more and more! (i think the withe cat represents either the boss or the fans who want more)
The bird represents her freedom and she always wanting lo leave
In the end if she threw the bird as the boss said, she would be giving everything to him and letting him exploit her more
...
Or I'm simply overthinking stuff
(also i really love this animation ahhhh)
I agree with your theory! Might actually be the real message of the video.
I viewed the bird as in the birds and the bees sense she wouldn’t give her bird away
Why an actress though? The stage?
@@mansatart9921 There's a Shakespeare quote that goes "All the world's a stage and all the men and women are merely players" Maybe she was pretending to be okay with everything, until she had to be assertive about her own needs. I'm not sure if that made sense, because I'm sleepy, but hopefully it did.
@@theloosekannonartist I mean yeah, I figured that or she was doing some sort of pep talk about being a corporate slave, or the stage ment the audience (us) and she's saying "... Right?"

I know I’m super late to this but it’s my first time watching and I’ve never made a theory before
And this probably has no deeper meaning
But:
Dinosaur: a person (uh-)
Bird: childhood memories, hope, happiness, friends
Cat: possibly an abusive relationship, or just negative thoughts
“I’m going out for lunch”
Trying to go hang out with friends, or visit family, who might live far away
Them doing a lot of stuff could mean that the abusive relationship is forcing them to do stuff for them, but the dinosaur still has the urge to keep going for their bird (happy thoughts)
“You aren’t taking my bird”
Breaking up with the abuser, staying connected with happiness despite all the bad thoughts
And the end:
Feeling free, moving on
“Everyone goes through this some point in their lives, ya know what I’m saying?”:
Trying to forgive instead of forget, hoping there’s some good in their ex partners heart
Sorry if this sounds really weird, but I’ve never made one before-

This reminds me of having one of those dreams, where you are pressured and have jobs to do, where everything's kind of dark and gloomy and you feel out of control, but then it turns slightly lucid and you just say "No" to it, and eventually wake up.
Those dreams usually symbolize feeling out of control, and I suppose this film does too.

@@discontinuedchannel4544 I guess that's a good thing tho because you're subconscious feels like you're in control of your life?

Or, another example, I’m afraid of deep waters. One of my dreams was me being stuck on a new York crane. I would either have to jump off or die. And, I ended up jumping off, and that’s all I could remember. Basically, I don’t ever feel in control of my life. Most of the time, the dreams I remember come in months after whatever event. I think this symbolises someone like a parent, significant other, or just someone putting you in a toxic relationship.. the dino keeps working hard and doing stuff for the cat without question, the cat is the one overuling the dino, the one in absolute and utter control... looking in the tv right before "the last part" was the dino looking back at the stuff they've done for the cat.. the bird represents something important to dino, and when the cat tried to make them destroy it or make dino do something bad to it and says "it's the last part" (when it probably isn't) the dino refuses.. it's too much... that's a breaking point.. and then the dino "breaks" through the wall and sees more clearly, the animation gets more clear too.. then dino protects the bird and themself and gets rid of the cat.. finally.. everything is ok.. they can finally have lunch, that freedom, they can enjoy life... so they go outside and eat...
Wow that’s deep
"the animation gets more clear too"
it also goes from an obsolete 4:3 aspect ratio to a modern 16:9 aspect ratio.
bruh all i saw in it was a weird af dream
Neat theory, if you dont mind me sharing, I took the video more literally and thought of it as some kind of stressful work relationship.
Nah is just some dinosaur getting lunch
I think its about like toxic relationships like they make you do tasks and stuff you dont want to untill you realize it and stop the relationship it also makes sense with the end" everyone goes through this"
The last task was like getting rid of the smol birb. Maybe that symbolizes them asking to get rid of a friend and they refuse to do that and end the relationship but I’m probably overthinking it.
That's what I thought too
I guess not getting lunch until the end could be like the symbol of being isolated from the things in your life that you need or want.
I remember watching this while stoned and it rocked my world... still does.
I don't know why but this specific animation speaks to me so deeply. I keep coming back to it over and over.
WHOA! So surreal and crazy! I didn't understand a single thing, but it was so amazing to watch. It kinda reminded me of the ending of 2001: A Space Odyssey, in that it was really surreal and weird.
I loved the part where she broke through the wall, and it went from 4:3 VHS-aesthetic to 16:9 and clean. Really cool, dude!
Uhhh... I’m trying to find a deeper meaning in this video but.... I.. I just can’t
Also the heckin Animation is amazing
Its like the game Oxenfree
I think I got it. Maybe.
It's about controlling relationships. I think
That’s a really good way of interpreting it
Like the boss/cat wants her to give up her birb friend, and she says no, and like ugh I don't know how to convey my thoughts
Or the bird could represent freedom of choice.
No I get what you mean! When she says I’ve done all the other things, probably saying she’s sacrificed everything or done everything the cat wanted her to do and the bird being her friend and not wanting to sacrifice a friendship
So the meaning behind this we all get over worked with restless tasks and made people feel they are losing the ones and things they loved .
I love it❤
This feels like a dream that was that weird that I never forgot about it even after I woke up.
It's like that urban legend about Marines being given a puppy to care for at the start of their training, then at the end, they're ordered to kill it.
wow thats fucked up but so are the marines in general so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
bingobango123 Y’know it’s called an “urban legend” for a reason....
@@bugbugbugbugbug5059 They used to do this for combat medics though. I think its a goat and not a dog however. The trainee is assigned a goat, ordered to name it and is to take care of it and bond during the course of training. An instructor fucks up the goat something serious at the end of training, and then orders the medic to deal with it. I think its meant to simulate how it would necessarily feel when a work acquaintance and someone you may take solace in gets dangerously injured, and prepares you mentally for that level of pain happening next to you.
They may still do this, I'm unsure, but I know it was done in the past.
Also OP is thinking of Spies, not Marines, and its a movie trope not an urban legend. There are too many marines to afford the otherwise weekly puppy slaughter.

«Ваш приятель-куб был вам верным спутником, но ему не дозволено перейти с вами в следующую часть испытания. Если бы он мог говорить - а он, как мы, пользуясь случаем, напоминаем, не может - то сказал бы, что он лучше сгорит в огне, чем станет вам обузой».
I see this as the loss of innocence after struggling so much with the tasks society puts on your shoulders. Holding onto what you love opens the path to happiness!

I know what you're saying, I too have become a dinosaur working at a mug shop, only to have god cat make me do a large number of tasks with a bird hidden in a glove compartment, and have his demise be a giant remote all for some lunch. Relatable!
I interpret this as the Cat representing a drive to work and that drive keeps pushing everything to the side because you'll feel guilty if you aren't working. The Dino represents the person and who they are, following what their drives tell them to. The bird represents the need to relax and take a break, when the bird hits the button on the remote, the break begins. Lunch is the end goal of the break while the bird is the drive to get there. The Cat had to go for the day since everything you have to cut yourself off at some point and just relax
i used to be scared of sleeping, in case i had a weird scary dream. after watching this, it's not so bad. i'm excited to talk about them now, which is exactly what it feels like you did :) because this is a fever dream (and i love it)
"YOU AINT GETTIN MY BIRD Y'HEAR!?" *shoots cat with a remote laser*
Oh, I heard “but you ain’t getin my birdie here!”
Siena Bray I heard the same
Im surprised the cat didn’t chase after it
Can you go without self-deprecating for five minutes?
@@crucify_then_learn3370 turn on captions, it says “but-but you ain’t getting my bird, y’hear?”
I feel like this is about someone moving out and at the end, they realize the building doesn't allow pets
yep
So, they just shoot the owner?

3:03 Good god. The transformation from 4:3 to 16:9. The removal of VHS static. The 3D. The HD color. It’s just Sibbie and the bird. So much change has just happened in a moment. Breathtaking.
I didn't even notice the widening of the screen
During finals week, I suffered what I can only describe as the worst mental breakdown of my life. It was just the feeling of "I need a break, I want to just throw in the towel and quit." I knew I was right there but something about it was just so demotivating. I did end up pulling through, just barely, though around that time I rewatched this video that I had only seen once a long time ago and had pretty vague memories of. After going through that kind of stress where the best reward is just some time to decompose, I finally understand it for the masterpiece that it is. If you guys don't understand this video, then... well, you will someday.
Great job, Deadly. You've far, far surpassed Pixar levels of representing human emotion.
Me: (doesn't know what's happening but surely enjoys it)

Man, I remember when I was trapped in another dimension by my boss, too. Wild times!
Absolutely beautiful animation. A+++
Your brain and your ideas are magnificent. This is absolutely beautiful. I hope you continue to create art. Cant wait to see more of you decide to upload. Cheers
I’m in a love/hate relationship with these kind of shorts. They create such a beautiful universe, and it depresses me that I don’t get to see it in it fullness.
I feel like this, at least for me, made me feel like some one abused my vulnerability and i couldn't say no until they wanted my friend gone
I dont know what it is, but Im glad Birdy and Dino are happy
I think that not only is this amazingly pointless, but it's vaguely showing how people never just get a break and have to keep doing pointless shizz to make others happy, including the literal "Can't go on lunch break until you do this stuff"
Never have I seen anything that encapsulates how it feels to dream so perfectly
If someone made this a small little horror game im sure a lot of people will love it. with out of the box thinking and weird things in the code i would love thos.
Sibbie : goes out for lunch
Cat : I'm gonna have to stop you right there.
Oof
The cat name is gluestick, isn't it?

I thought the cat meant for the bird to be his lunch.
I think I understand it.
Someone with authority over you denies free time, says 'do that stuff we talked about (didn't)' and then do something so against yourself that it'll be as if throwing your pet down a bottomless pit.
Quite a lot of people goes through this at some point in their lives.
This changed my life, in a very subtle way.
And I don't even know why.
It's like a mirror, where i can see my past self...
I haven't watched this for about 3 years, and the qualia of its presentation elicits something intrinsic to my being, just as it did, the first time.
I feel whole, and present.
Thank you. This is true art.
I don't comment often, but this really resonates with me. Seeing this for the first time now, after reaching that point where the straw broke the camels back at work, and feeling so trapped, so stuck in a monotonous lifestyle, and finally realizing that I wasn't where I wanted to be, I finally said no and left. I felt like I finally had that peace and self respect I had craved for so long. But it's the ending that really got me. It's terrible in a way, but extremely comforting to hear "everyone goes through it", to know you're not alone in your mindset.
If you feel stuck, you might just need to break out. Whether it's work, a relationship, or getting out of bed each day, build up that courage to finally say enough is enough. I'm so glad I did.
Thank you for this. Really, it is a beautiful way to visualize everything I've been thinking. Thank you.
