Nina Ananiashvili said that when she studied the role, Maya Plisetskaya from Bolshoi and Irina Kolpakova from Mariinsky were considered the two best Raymondas in Russia.
There was a slip up and this video was posted twice. The second posting was supposed to be a video of Allegra Kent in a pas de deux. I see that you eliminated the second posting of this video. Would you now post the Allegra Kent video please? Allegra Kent was a lovely dancer and I would like to see her in that video. Thank you.
Wow! That last piece of music sounds so ''Soviet'' or ''Russian'' to me. This lady has lovely arm movements too. Gosh this channel is wonderful. l always wonder how you get your hands on so much historic video. Thank you John. :)
It sounds Hungarian to me. The instrument is a cimbalon, a Hungarian instrument played with hammers, kind of a higher tension dulcimer. Also, the slow/fast structure suggests a czardas.
@@bassavino ~ Kinda YEA! lf you are a dancer ...you would know more than l as, l am of Russian decent, but l just got into ballet, a year ago or so. l _cant believe_ how vast the culture is! So thank you for the correction. :)
@@theresa42213 I'm an American not of Russian descent and love dance including ballet. Although I have serious issues with Russian politics (and American politics as well!) it's beyond debate that so many Russian dancers are magnificent. It's a real treat that everyone can enjoy these marvelous dancers through platforms like RUclips.
Truly great. and beautiful dancer Thank you. The score is exquisite, too, and underrated.

Beautiful.🙏
pure essence of ballet artistry❤
Practically the only time I’ve seen the last variation done at tempo. She was a beautiful dancer, pure, nothing extraneous.
Yes. It's always a SCHTICK-a-thon. Kolpakova actually looks geniune!
Великолепная балерина!! В Советском Союзе её очень любили.Спасибо за отличное водео.
Dayum she is marvelous. Thank you.........
The monstrous stamina and strength it takes to look like a weightless wisp of spindrift cannot be overstated. She is a miracle.
