- The scope of Matt Hensley's influence circa 1990 has really never been matched. From the way he dressed and cut his hair, to the tricks he did, to the spots he skated, to the teams he rode for-Hensley was skateboarding.

Matt blew my mind when that H-Street video came out. You better believe he was a huge influence on us. Thanks Matt!
My hero growing up here in Scotland. Glad to see he looks like he’s doing well!
His backside kickflip grab over the bin 🗑 on those big old heavy boards still blows my mind
Best deck I ever rode was the Hensley stained glass window graphic. Dude was my hero in late 80s early 90s. Last trick I learned was 360 flip over 30 years ago. Fun times. I’m 48 now and still have the feeling of learning a new trick in coursing through my veins.
Ill never forget when I met matt.. I was at a bar in Milwaukee WI, probly the 90s. This guy walked up to a bar and I looked at him and said "do you know a guy named matt hensley, you look like him", he said "your talking to him " then he showed me a tat of his skateboard graphic (the eagle or firebird one).. blew my mind.. never expected to meet him in WI.. hes a legend.. big influence on skateboarding and skate style ( i wear a chain wallet to this day, then agian, I grew up in MIL WI. harley dudes everywhere, chain wallets are standard, but I wanted a chain wallet cuz of matt. )
My all time favourite skater. My first board was H-Street Matt Hensley, my favourite board of all time was my Plan B Matt Hensley being the lilac coloured one with the black eagle motif - THAT was THE board I learnt my best tricks on. Natas and Matt are true Street gods!
Watching Shackle Me Not for the first time changed my life. Hokus Pokus blew me away. Matt's style and technique is something I idolized for years.
same watch and emulated his moves up until the day I got sponsored at 19, then stopped in my mid twenties. He's such an icon, classic moves.
He was the best. I idolized him.
natas, gonz and Hensley! the god fathers of modern street skating....:)
+richard anthony Phillips and Rodney ....
rodney was still going round in circles with knee high socks and short-shorts in 86-88, when the fore-mentioned were laying the foundations of street skating! but his innervation's in freestyle converted well into street skating, which mullun didnt start doing properly until 1990...:)
+richard anthony Phillips street skating and properly don't belong together
That's true but he's right, Mullen was doing freestyle flat ground, they had to talk him into doing street
Vallely too, but yeah.
Natas, Gonz, Hensley, Way, Roskopp, Frankie Hill, Ray Barbee....... the summers of 85' till 91' were the best times of my life!
89 to 91, everyone wanted to be like matt, the cargo shorts, white high tops, chain for wallet, skinhead, and the slight hunch when doing tricks. Such good style and good tricks. Thanks matt. Yeah matt
by far one of the best to ever fucking do it
My favourite human of all time!!!

sub society,style,and the man hensley,
Be prepared to shoot. Plug the mic into an external recorder, if you'll be pulling focus non stop during an interview as important as this one, TWS!
My neighbour named his dog Hensley after this ripper!
Yeeea Matt!
The best
Me just realizing the Plan B logo has been “dick and balls.” One of the most iconic skate brand logos of my youth was a penis joke. 🤦🏻♂️ I thought that stopped at Limpies! 😆
The dude who revealed to me how badly I wanted a chain wallet, and didn’t realize it
