Great work and well made video. I got a star 240V reconfigure for a 3HP 415V motor that didnt have a six terminal box by a fantastic retired engineer . Yate Rewinds near bristol. just got a unknown meddings at auction, looking forward to working on it. I'll come back for tips.
Thanks for uploading the videos. I have a 1977 Meddings Mf4 and the motor is on its way out. Stupid working after a few minutes and only works again after its cooled down. But can you tell me how you got the pulleys off the old motor shaft?
Thanks mate, the pulley on my drill is held to the motor shaft with a grub screw. I assume an imperial size, but I used a 4mm Allen key to slacken it off and slide the pulley off. I think I needed to lever under the bottom pulley against the motor case using two pry bars, using great care as the pulleys are cast. If that fails you could try shocking it off by getting someone to hold the pulley (with the motor removed from the drill and the shaft upwards) and hitting the middle of the spindle with a wide punch, you may find the motor drops off with a bit of luck.
@@ShedTV cheers for that mate. In the end, I got myself an extractor from machinemart for £20. Even using that it was an effort to get the pulleys off. New motor is on... Just waiting for one of those NVR switches. Thanks again!
I need help the on n off switch broke where it wouldn't go off lol took it off and I tripped the switches in my work shop need help to fix it mate please

Excellent. Sounds like a good project. Thanks for your comments, that was the first RUclips video I made; a few years ago now!
You should have fitted a parallel key in motor keyway before tightening the Allen grub screw
Very good video.
+d.i.y.man Cheers!
