Legit, I watched the preview and just thought “these people are gonna make me get up at the crack of dawn to day drink… and I don’t even like to drink alcohol!!”
I haven't been excited for much that Disney has done lately. This is different. I'm hoping you guys go on this soon and report back from taking an entire cruise. So many of these different areas onboard are worth visiting. You can see EFFORT actually went into this. ( Talkin' to you, CommuniCore Hall. )
Tom and Eric thank you so much! I was one of the people texting Eric when the show started! I can't wait to see all of your content from the upcoming cruises to help out with my cruise on the Treasure next October!
The Treasure is basically the same as the Wish, except the bars have different themes. A cheap and easy way for Disney to replicate a successful ship and draw more Disney fans who want to experience something new. Disney was smart to invite vloggers to a ship port experience vs. at seas…get your content out to the masses with free advertisement for Disney. All said and done, it looks like a great ship experience.
Love this video! My brother and I are saving up to go to Tokyo within the next two years but this year makes me wanna go on a cruise again. We’ve only been on one back in 2002 on the wonder. Also always just enjoy Tom and Eric shooting the breeze about the travel industry! 😅
As a veteran of 107 cruises with DCL I can say this is a great vlog. Even though I disagree with you on the staterooms and the elevators, I actually think the elevators are the best thing about the wish, I agree the theming is much better. Tom I look forward to hopefully running into you on the maiden voyage in a couple of weeks. Maybe we can get a drink at the scat cat, I see Matt is the piano player and he is well above amazing, if you omen and I can give you my takes and have a awesome discussion. I maybe one of the few people who is really not even remotely excited about the Haunted Mansion parlor. If we see each other I’ll explain why. The maiden will be cruise 110 on DCL for me and I truly think it will be up there. I also think, as amazing as this ship looks, it won’t take the place of the Wonder as my Favorite. Anyway thanks again and I hope to see you on the maiden.
as someone who has been crusing with disney since 2011, and been on every ship to date and on the second crusing of the treasure (just because we didnt want to do it over xmas) on the 29th, I 100% that the wonder is still BY FAR the best ship in more ways than I have time to list here.
I have been super excited about this ship for a long time but I gotta admit my heart dropped when I saw the typo on the signage at 32:06 where it lists the place names... 'ZANZIBAR,' 'CALCUTTA,' 'CASABLANCA,' and ...PORTO VELHO* (they misspelled it as 'PORTO VEHLO'). I know Portuguese is a hard language but they were able to spell all the other (equally challenging) ones right. Portuguese speakers are a massive international demographic plus a huge fan base for the Disney company in particular... seems like they probably could've gotten literally anyone with an internet connection or some Portuguese experience to double check that. Plus the whole point of the jungle cruise is international travel and I love the backstory of SEA and these intelligent, worldly explorers who would definitely know the correct names of these places. It was probably just an oversight but like the guys in the video said, these spaces have the smallest of details that really make the magic so when all those details haven't been given as much attention as they deserve, it pulls you right out of the "zone" where you're immersed as though you're in the ride.
Why is it that Disney Cruise is theming these ships to the extremes in classic imagineering fashion, and yet all the theming is being taken out of the common spaces /rooms at the Disney World resorts and the park upgrades are anything but? I just don’t get the paradox there.
Even though I like most Disney animated films and Disney's in my blood (my uncle was a Disney animator for decades and my avatar is one of his drawings) I'm really a parks guy. I've not been on a cruise before so I'm looking forward to someday checking out Disney Treasure.
We have been on 14 dcl cruises….and one celebrity cruise. It was that celebrity cruise that had the most disappointing main dining room food selection and quality that I have ever had. I think the the rotational dining room menu is a solid 8 and the service is a solid 10. I would have scored celebrity a solid 4.
I agree when I went on the Disney WISH as a solo cruiser and the dinners was so poor and service was not great. I enjoyed the buffet and other food options instead. Thanks for the review!
I’ve been really disappointed in Disney the last couple of years. From the grief over DAS and movies that just aren’t on “Disney Level”. I had no intention on returning but this actually has me excited! I feel like it’s a good replacement for the parks for me because I can do this without needing DAS.
tom, im from new york like you and travel to me and ma a lot. I cant eat lobster on a cruise ship because ive eaten so many im super particular about its taste and can tell when its not fresh. I was disappointed when I got it but you learn each time what to get and what not to get
As an adult that cruises either solo or with my adult daughters, I spend a lot of time in the adult area on the ship. I HATE the adult area on the Wish. They don't have that covered area that the Dream and Fantasy do. And to have the smoking area literally right on top of the adult area makes it impossible for me to use that area. I get an allergic reaction to many scents, including cigarettes so I need to stay away from it. That is possible on the other ships, but the Wish and now the Treasure, it is impossible. With how Disney claims to be so allergy friendly, they tend to forget a type of allergy that so many have, scents. The Wish has this nasty fragrance piped into the lobby. When I boarded the Wish, I had an immediate allergic reaction. I wish that they would do better about that.
I have been in both Disney and Carnival cruise ships. Almost everything on Disney I liked better than carnival (carnival is still fun and worth the value) but the one thing I didn’t like the Disney ships was their layout! I just didn’t like the flow of the ship and it just didn’t feel as open as a carnival ship
well, if I'm ever on the Disney Treasure, and it's hit an iceberg, and there's no more lifeboats ... I'll skip the Marvel restaurant, go straight to Haunted mansion Bar
Did you see Jim Cramer there? I saw on his twitter he was there lol I’ve always wanted to meet him. The guy is a loon and a grifter, but he seems like a guy you could have an interesting conversation with that would make for a good story.
OK. Eric has GOT to be related to John Goodman!!!!!! Please tell Disney when they grow up JUST A LITTLE (cuz I do love me some Disney!!!) and put a casino in their ships, that I might consider the price of their cruises justified. In the meantime, they will not get my cruise business.
LMAO at the photo of Tom and Eric in the Jordan Sparks shot. 🤣
Can't believe Disney made a ship where I am only going to want to sit in a bar all day. Mansion fans dream of such things.
Legit, I watched the preview and just thought “these people are gonna make me get up at the crack of dawn to day drink… and I don’t even like to drink alcohol!!”

I said the same thing. I’ve felt like they lost their touch. This ship is exciting
Tom and Eric thank you so much! I was one of the people texting Eric when the show started! I can't wait to see all of your content from the upcoming cruises to help out with my cruise on the Treasure next October!
That drone show they did looked absolutely incredible
The madam leota face was jaw dropping
I could be wrong but I think it was one of the few if only times they did a full video on the drones.
Love the Haunted Mansion bar I wasn’t going to cruise again but this changed my mind
“Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic”. - Arthur C Clarke
My family is already booked on the NEXT ship, the Destiny, so I'm excited to hear that there was such an improvement over the Wish.
I was right haha! I thought I saw yall when sparks was preforming. Perfect view!
Thanks gents! Looking forward to more in the future!!! 👍

that is a special event. i am glad you got a chance to see it, looking forward to the actual cruise review too

I’ll see you there, would love to talk over a drink! Just email me at Tom@wdwnt.com

We saw the Wish in Greece watched it leave port from the restaurant
I think I went on the wish the third month it had been out and super enjoyed it looking to get the family back soon on it.
I can't wait to watch your complete review of the Treasure.
that shot of you and Eric with Jordan Sparks was so funny to see! LOL
Why is it that Disney Cruise is theming these ships to the extremes in classic imagineering fashion, and yet all the theming is being taken out of the common spaces /rooms at the Disney World resorts and the park upgrades are anything but? I just don’t get the paradox there.
Correct
lol this is great you guys, thanks for making me smile 😊
We'll be on her in March for 8 days and 7 nights. Plenty of time to get footage! Fun to hear ya guys talking.
Even though I like most Disney animated films and Disney's in my blood (my uncle was a Disney animator for decades and my avatar is one of his drawings) I'm really a parks guy. I've not been on a cruise before so I'm looking forward to someday checking out Disney Treasure.
In the Jungle Cruise lounge-I would love if they had an Andrews Sisters type trio singing comedic, punny songs on the stage.
Not a cruise person so nice to see what this is like!
Hilariously I 100% Saw Tom and Eric right away behind Jordan Sparks, and started laughing
;)

Only 5 minutes of Periscope Pub?!? What a whale of a tale!
Nice to see some positivity.
Does Eric have a video of his haunted mansion room?
This ain’t the first time Disney Cruise Line came to NYC to christen a new ship. They came to NYC back in 2012 to christen the Disney Fantasy!
Tremendous lost opportunity to not put in fiber optic flooring in the Epcot tower suite.
The stack suite is over 60,000.
How do 2 giants hovering over that cruise ship in that picture lay down comfortably to sleep in it when there bigger than the ship?
As an adult that cruises either solo or with my adult daughters, I spend a lot of time in the adult area on the ship. I HATE the adult area on the Wish. We were not able to tour all of those areas, but we will report back in a couple weeks when we cruise on the Treasure.

This just makes me upset and depressed, because we landlubbers don't get to see any of this incredible theming at the Resorts or Parks. 😢
It’s good to go see other places, even if they’re all just Disney destinations 😉
going on the second cruising on dec 29, so hoping for the best, but not a fan of the new class. Wonder and Fantasy are still the best.
The striped area reminded me of Beetlejuice!
COSTCO sample portions in the Dining rooms.
well, if I'm ever on the Disney Treasure, and it's hit an iceberg, and there's no more lifeboats ... I'll skip the Marvel restaurant, go straight to Haunted mansion Bar
Wasn't the Wish was a ship that was purchased?
No. They purchased the Adventure.
Woahhh
Why they make the copy and paste ships still at this moment… I can understand in the past but from the wish going forward I don’t see the need too..
It must kill the tiny black hearts of the Hollywood hot shot executives to do anything that appreciates the Parks, and especially Park fans.
Why does Eric look younger in this video
Did you see Jim Cramer there? I saw on his twitter he was there lol I’ve always wanted to meet him. The guy is a loon and a grifter, but he seems like a guy you could have an interesting conversation with that would make for a good story.
I saw people who looked famous, but it was crowded and a bit of a blur…
I would sell an organ to stay in that tower suite
