Halo Infinite was a mess when it launched in 2021. So looking at the game now in 2023, has it changed at all? Well, that's what I tried to find out in this video. Along with some friends, I went ahead and played all the things that Halo Infinite had in 2023.

Husky Raid originated during Halo 3 Customs, the creator just though the name was cool. Husky Raid became part of Halo 4 Action sack, one of the most popular and fun playlists from that game, so it was brought back again for 5 and Infinite. Great video, btw.

@@xClownpiece Well said, the crazy overpowered sandbox from Halo 4 makes Husky Raid insanely fun. All my memories and experiences with Halo 4 are positive, the game has flaws, but i never agreed with the hate it receives.

I miss the credit system and customization of reach and their unique level titles for each rank. You could see a guy with an insane armor effect with base armor cause that’s what they cared about ppls armor really used to be super unique and tell a story

Additional information: Firefight is coming back later in the season. They seem to be bringing in an "arena" style firefight but not like the old style of choosing a map and having a proper playlist game mode for it. Who knows, it could be better. They have been pretty hush hush on it. I just want the old style personally.
Seems like 343 is finally starting to understand how to update their game. For some, it may be too late. I will say that it's fun to jump in and out of multiplayer when I want to. With the addition of the new game modes and custom games giving XP in the new update I can actually see myself playing this from time to time to relax and have fun. I'm curious if they will stick with Infinite or just jump ship and move onto the next Halo game soon. Only time will tell...

i played halo mcc fully and then halo infinite right after all for the first time and yes halo infinite was def not very good campaign wise

About the campaign stuff, several jobs have opened relating to the story such as writing director, and I heard from somewhere that 343 is starting to rebuild their campaign team!

Biggest change Infinite needs at this point is an overhaul of the UI, it still feels really annoying to navigate. I wanna talk smack in pre-game lobbies and look at each other’s player cards, too.
I agree. The interface is absolutely atrocious. I find myself stuck in menus, stuck in lobbies, unable to leave the fireteam, unable to exit the game unless I alt f4….

I loved halo infinite 343 have put a lot of effort into this game. I really just hope they don't abandon this game soon. The multiplayer is just so much fun, and I really liked the campaign as well.
You are correct for feeling that the campaign is "off". It's because of the hellish development of the game that 2/3 of it got cut. The entire campaign experience we get to play is essentially act 1 of a 3-act story. That's why they tease a desert section at the end and show off Atriox before abruptly ending. It wasn't supposed to tease the next Halo you were supposed to get to play in that desert and Atriox would take over as the lead villain.

Husky Raid was a popular custom game back in Halo 4, at least that's when I first played it.
All I really want left is Map Veto, Press X to join party, and pre/post game lobbies. Make the game feel a bit more social.
It's amazing to see how far the game has come since launch, and I'm glad people are beginning to realize how much better the game is now.

Another great review. I remember playing this for hours when it came out but then one day, just stopped.... I still have a group that plays every so often so I should group up with them. Halo is an amazing series, and this game brought a flash of nostalgia back, but there was something missing that I couldn't quite place. I should go back to it seeing all these updates. See if the spark is still there.

Didnt end up finishing the campaign but grappling everywhere with 3 people trying to break the game was always fun
Coming from PlayStation and CoD, playing Halo feels like fresh air, so far I’m loving it and looking forward to grind the new season.
I think the reason the second half of the campaign felt off was because there was no proper conclusion and that they wanted to keep it open for some dlcs to the campaign but don't currently have the people or resources to do so yet.
Note fire fight was announced at the end of the season 5 trailer to come sometime in season 5.

If you go into any game with the thought of dread you will find anything to dread it. Come back clean dude, enjoy what’s there and how far it’s come, and how far it’s still going. You’ll enjoy it, been playing since season 4 started and it’s been the best experience I’ve had since Halo 3 when I was a kid. It’s great

I think halo infinite is living it's second 'more successful' life now. If you tried it at launch and dropped, you definitely should return and see how it's evolved and got much better
Halo Infinite may have had a terrible first year, but currently it's the best live service game. Only games coming close are Warframe, Deep Rock Galactic and... apex?
They need to add voice chat!! Halo is a community it feels just wrong not being able to talk to the other team in the lobby..Bring back voice chat!!

Ive started playing it again- its actually really fun, and with all the new game modes its finally worth it. Im truly excited for firefight and AI enemy placements in forge mode
I'm legit proud to have stuck with Halo Infinite despite how badly the game has been handled.
16 new game modes with barely someone playing. I tried infinite yesterday and got a match of quick play after 5mins
I always loved Halo Infinite. My only complaint was lack of content for the multiplayer which was addressed after Forge release.

Maybe we should get special coatings for each color of rank completed. Like when you complete the silver ranks, you get a unique little silver coating.

For the more rank rewards question I believe helioskrill should come back, I remember when mcc came out on pc, me and my brother played every halo on legendary to get the Legend achievement. It’s a shame the only in game reward for it is a badass armor that only exists in halo 5.

Since they added Husky Raid (ctf with 1 pathway and random power weapons) i’ve been enjoying it much more and the complete chaos is nice, matchmaking is only about 1-2 minutes In AUSTRALIA which is crazy

I would love for Halo to have seasonal rank ladder like thing, where like getting Hero gets you Chief's armor, they could make it next season a different set or other rewards. (Achilles from halo 5 pls)
The trick to getting kills like Mint Blitz is to learn how to spawn control, then abuse that power. It also helps if you artificially lower your MMR (Match Making Rank) by losing on purpose. Then you can get into lower level lobbies and absolutely thrash them.
I want a personal hug from a 343 executive once I reach Hero rank. Only then will I feel satisfied.

There is literally going to be a dedicated firefight mode... It was in the trailer from like 2 weeks ago lmao. But im more excited to play custom player missions which launches tomorrow.
Campaign story might be a 7 but the fun factor with friends makes it an overall 9. But buy it for 30 dollars.
As Infinite gets more and more updates I want to get back into it more and more but it literally can’t run properly on my PC for some reason

Its almost like when you fire useless people like Bonnie Ross, Frank o'Connor, and kiki wolfkill you can have something good. Almost like putting competent people on charge causes competent products to be made.
Bonnie Ross, Frank, and Kiki were originally the ones in command so with all the issues that went down in 343 during their Rule and all the stories from former employees. Safe to say they did not know and possibly did not care what was going on. It was a do what I say that's it. Especially given H5 was a good example of poor leadership when its clear there was originally a focus that never came to be. Same as H4 in the conventional phase.
Aside from that if anyone can benefit and improve the game it is most certainly Pierre Hintz. The man who managed to reorganize the team who worked on MCC to improve it.
Been playing this game fairly often(read weekly) since launch and never understood the hate it got. Sure some of the progression was lame but at its core, it’s so smooth and the combat is great.

Wanted to replay Halo Infinite, but every update, the game has progressively been running worse and worse for me. Update drivers be damned, performed worse thereafter. Wish I could get back to v1.0, where I actually got 60fps, not 10fps...

I actually really enjoyed the Halo Infinite story. It is by far the best 343i entry. I 100%'d it on Legendary.
Having said that though, it was no Halo 2/3, nor Reach. I wish it shared some more aspects with those stories. Especially Reach, the darker tone of that game lingers with me to this day.
Can’t understate the fact that they’re bringing spawnable AI to forge!! You can even change the npc’s team alignment and patrol paths. And by AI I’m talkin about covenant/brutes
Halos flop was what made me switch to PlayStation entirely but now I’m building a pc to play Halo in its current state since it looks wayyy funner now
So, been playing infinite again since season 5 looks like it’s gonna be awesome, and I’ve honestly been having a blast! But man I wish customization was just what it used to be. I miss having my own colors instead of some destiny style shader system, and I’m just not big on their core idea. My ideas for these would be to bring the old color system back, but maybe sell armor patterns instead of colors (I.e. selling a camo pattern for the armors, giving us more customization) and my idea for the cores would be more Spartan outfits (with cross core customization of course), and an Elite core to bring playable elites back. I also miss the old emblem system as well, but love the nameplate idea that they have also, so bring the best of both worlds I say!
It feels like they’re making a step in the right direction when it comes to customization, but man I seriously hope they would use these ideas and make it like old halo customization, but with more (such as AI’s, and everything else that’s new that they’ve brought in that adds more).
One other cool thing that I would absolutely love to see (although not necessary, just a neat idea) is for co-op campaign, instead of both players being chief, the host would be master chief, and the others would be their multiplayer Spartans. To me it would make sense since the infinity crashed in zeta halo with chief, and he teams with some surviving Spartans.
Sorry for the long comment, just would really love these things, customization has always been the biggest thing in halo for me, along with its story and gameplay, and they’ve nailed gameplay, I liked the story so much, but man customization still feels kinda lacking (although getting better hopefully).
Can you make a video of what you would like to see on a campaign dlc?
I hope they add campaign,forge and theater xp like they did in the og games

2023 is great for halo from firefight returning the potential return of the gravemind and a actual Spartan getting infected by the flood

I think that as you progress through the ranks, you should get the armor of different members of blue team
They did showcase a call back to the original armor from Halo 1 and some modifications to it. So we have that.

Man I haven't played Halo in eons. Halo 3 was THE game my friends and I played after school back in the day. The Middle School and High School eras were us rushing home to hop into customs or Doubles depending on who was available.
We all sorta slowly dropped off with Reach because Customs weren't as good. So while we spent a good year with it, we eventually all fell out.
We bought Halo 4 hoping to recapture the magic, and I was the only one who kept playing, (eventually becoming pretty highly ranked in the SWAT leaderboards, and getting some ungodly ridiculous player rank) but I got burnt out.
Didn't play 5 or the MCC because Halo just didn't feel the same anymore, and I didn't pay Infinite any mind at all. But...
Damn man, this looks fun as hell. Maybe it's just the nostalgia slapping my brain across the face but I wanna give it a shot.
It's worth giving it a try at least and the multiplayer is free. It's honestly a blast right now and as a lifelong fan since halo:ce, this is the most fun halo has been in a long time.

It's worth your time. There's 16 playlist and around +55 maps. Next week we'll have even more maps, more game modes and, finally, AI in forge. And firefight is coming in a couple of months, so it's better to try it now.

Let's not cross wires. We have absolutely no way to measure the playerbase on xbox, or the xbox app on PC. People just love to use steam charts to measure engagement and it's not remotely accurate for cross-platform games. RUclipsrs love to do this to tons of games and it makes absolutely zero sense.
I agree. I only use it since there is no way for me to showcase the xbox player numbers without saying an assumption. Whereas with the steam chart its right there.

I felt the campaign was extremely lacking toward the end. I played it for a month or so after launch but havent played since. Firefight or a revamped/redone campaign would bring me back though.

@@cidal_dank1793It’s Firefight + KOTH and coming during the season as a midseason update, but AI in Forge still allows for the community to make their own firefight

Halo Infinite is an incredible multiplayer now
It’s a fun game for sure, but I struggle with some of the game modes since they’re often filled with try hards that ruin the experience for me tbh, this isn’t always the case though
Halo 5 definitely has the most content of any halo game, and I love that game.
Infinite is getting there for sure, but what I want more than anything , is a complete port of H5s weapon sandbox.
I simply DO NOT like infinites weapons…everything feel janky, with a mix of bloom AND recoil, aswell as underpowered feels (shotgun).
H5 had the best weapon sandbox in my opinion and I want it back
