Billy The Extinguisher Makes then a lit less boring, I'm looking forward to seeing a single pass working out and about too, but might be a few months before I can go and find them.
AustralianGarboFan Haha, they were only 8 years old, some Sydney councils are using trucks that are over 10 years old and are in very poor shape compared to the old Brisbane trucks. Bit of shame they're fi5ne as the new trucks won't be the same. But it's always cool to see new trucks in action.
So how does it feel knowing you've got no more old and loud ACCOs up there anymore? haha :P Sweet as to see one of these new ones fresh on the job, really enjoy watching that smooth lifter action, especially having the dead arm is tops, damn that makes a difference! Dead set didn't expect to see a lid get flipped, yet he lowered one with that correct motion and it did open :O Looks like an SPAK bloke was following along in that last clip, can't miss that van that turned in and pulled up :D Looking forward to seeing more of the new trucks, hopefully you'll get around to documenting the whole range of equipment in the Brissy fleet this time, not just the side loaders ey :P
AussieGarbo AussieGarbo To be honest it's a bit sad, having these new trucks is ok, but the novelty will wear off pretty quick given the awesome trucks these replaced, just glad I have heaps of footage stashed of the old side loaders. Another bummer is my mate Shane no longer works for Suez, so really glad I went out and was able to get a few clips of him in action before he hung up the boots, that's the biggest bummer. I was surprised to see a lid flip also, good to see I reckon. So glad the dead arm feature is not active, the old trucks had no dead arm either which made them so quick, it's a unique set up for the Suez/BCC contract, inside waste magazine had an article on it back in June 2010 for the old trucks and how the arms had been set to be fast and smooth given the big runs. Yep that was an SPak can following in the last clip, the truck had error codes flashing f the whole time I was filming and the grabbers weren't closing properl, didn't really want to stop for him either 😂. He was help up for good 15 minutes down the road from the start of the run with issues so was running really late. I'm going to try hard to film the whole range of trucks in the fleet this time round eh, knew you would be requesting it 😜.
Just looked at your fiker single pass pics. Cool. I like the touch on back sayin "My conduct as a professional driver is on display" Sadly not all drivers act professionally. Such as those who drink alcohol whilst driving. :-(
Nice I miss the the old trucks 😔 but the new ones look really cool got to say but don’t really like the signage on the front and the back. nice vid btw
rayson Yonan All the old trucks are retired from the BCC contract and sitting at the back of the yard awaiting auctioning off. Suez have the contract for 16 years and we will be getting new trucks in a other 8 years.
