What size hook did you use and what is the name of the yarn?

chaining 19 and then DC into 4th stitch from hook is leaving an extra stitch at the end...... because it doesn't divide evenly

Hey I'm currently crocheting this pattern and I was wondering if it's okay if the squares are kind of rectangular. Is there Also like a photo of the layout or any tips of keeping up with how many you have done.

When they turn into rectangles you might have lost count on your stitches they must be the same amount of stitches each row.
For me it was 46 in the front (23 white and 23 black)
And 46 in the back, 5 patches for the collar and 30 patches for each sleeve :)
