This was my first Rockapella CD, and it opens up with my favorite version of "I am your man"!
Barry caught me off guard at one point. I thought I was actually hearing a bass guitar and it was his powerful voice. Wow!
This concert introduced me to acapella back in 2004-5. Back then I saw this video kazillion times singing along, memorized all parts. Glad to stumble upon this masterpiece!
I loved this group. Rockapella was a great concert to attend. I’m glad I got the chance in person a few times. I wish they were still together. I’m glad this is here on RUclips so I can still attend a concert. You guys are awesome. Do it Rockapella!

i used to be so in love with theses guys. saw them in concert a handful of times, had all of their cds and even watched this tape over and over. But then they kept replacing their singers and it wasn’t the same ☹️ Elliot was my favorite
Scott and Jeff have been around since the TV show, but the rest do switch out and seem to switch out fairly often, which does affect their sound. I left a bit during their gospel phase, as that's just not my type of music
@@dandellapaolera8169 We've never ever ever done gospel. The closest we get is Christmas music. Please browse our albums, streaming everywhere, for details :)
Hi Pam...we hope to win you back someday. The singers replaced themselves ;).....when a band is around this long (over 36 years!), people come and go, but we've tried very hard to keep the same - or better - quality when it happens!

I saw them in concert at Albion College in the 1990s, and they did “Pretty Woman.” The girl they chose was a college student named Rebecca that was kind of shy. At one point during the song, Barry added “Rebecca’s turning red now!”
Also, one of them (I think Barry) said he had seen “more corn on this trip,” than at any other time! The adults in the audience laughed.
If they ever make a Rockapella movie they had better cast Rob Schneider and Owen Wilson

Between Elliot's silky timbre, Jeff's ridiculously accurate brushed snare, Barry's perfect Julliard pitch, PEAK Scott (the mic technique...for real), and the soulful Kevin...it was the quintessential acapella group and inspired countless choir kids, just like me.
Still one of my favorite albums to sing along to all these years later. I'd have killed to be at this show.

You know there was a moment right before they started when they asked Kevin "Do you have your eyeball?"
they cut out part of jeff thatcher's solo at the 20 minute mark. how disappointing. the entire solo is on the early versions of the CD recording.
PBS only had a certain broadcast duration when this aired and was released on dvd back 20 years ago....sorry - we wish it was uncut, but only the original broadcast edition exists.... Glad you have the album!
