An Amazon reviewer brought up a good point; saying that this battery's charging only accepts a maximum of 2.4amps. ( a very low charging rate)
Thats a problem for full time RV and van living where you're dependent on solar panels and have occasional sunlight
That review must be mistaken. This battery can accept 20a minimum. Max continuous is 50a. Maybe they are referring to an 8ah 12v battery?
Thanks for the video, good observation regarding the 5 degrees low temp spec.
It seems like we have a miscommunication regarding the low temp protection. Is it low temp charging protection @ 5 degrees F or low temperature discharging @ 5 F? The documentation is too vague.
My understanding has been that you want to stop the battery from being able to be CHARGED whenever it gets to freezing, 32 Degrees F or 0 Degrees C.
The temp protections for when to stop the ability to DISCHARGE the LFP batteries was set to 5 F or -15 C.
Testing should probably have a temp controlled aspect to it in order to verify/confirm the manufacturers claims.
This battery suggests it stops the DISCHARGE @ 5 F, unknown if it has protections to stop the Charge @ 32 F.
Thank you for the information and the comment.
Will Prowse had the same over amp results you had
I watched that video. He does a great job explaining the results. Thanks for the comment.
I like your videos. I have a PureSine inverter 2Kw but my local power feed in my area fluctuate over 250v sometimes, and then the inverter rejects the "street" ac or power and go to battery state. This is frustrating because the batteries runs down whilst there is power, just too high. I need a way to reprogram my inverter to accept higher input, say up to 259v. Can you help me please? I see the same display boards on various different makes, so I am hoping that the programming can be modified.
You probably need to look into some sort of AC voltage regulator to connect before the inverter.
When you have multiple batteries, would it be enough to have one with all the protection features, like over current, to shut down the entire bank?
No. That one battery would shut down, but the others would continue to operate in a parallel configuration. It might work for a series configuration, but I definitely don't recommend it.
@@OffGridBasement would be interesting to have a “master BMS” that monitors all batteries and shuts the bank down if needed. Or better yet, shuts industrial batteries down.
Water may freeze at 0C but Lifepo4 batteries have no water so the freezing point of water not that relevant. -15C may be perfectly fine.
Thanks for the info and the comment.
Lead-Acid has an advantage when it comes to power output. A group 31 Lead-Acid can output > 550CCA Kinda important when trying to crank a gas engine over with a starter motor.
True. These are storage batteries, not starter batteries. Thanks for the comment.
@@OffGridBasement I'm not sure about that. I know you gave it a failing grade because of over current protection. But if it can output 300A it might be able to start a small gas engine.
@@OffGridBasement Great video BTW.
Don't waste your time trying to buy this battery. You won't find it at the link that he provided or at the the store link provided on Amazon. Both with just take you to a 12 volt, 5, 7, or 12 AH battery listing. This appears to be a scam battery that the company is handing out to reviewers in exchange for a favorable review. This is 14 days after this review was posted. I've seen reviewers being taken in by this as recently as 9 days ago.
I bought one 2 days ago. They all sold out because of all the review videos.
I'll email the company to find out what's going on. Thanks for the heads up. NOTE: I received an email stating they are sold out as of 7-14-24.
That skillet is coated in poison
Yummy, recall class a lawsuit 😅😅
Haha! It's water directly from my sump pump well. I don't use this skillet for anything else. Thanks for the comment.
